Normally, I would have been thrilled, but after what I'd heard earlier, his generosity felt like a trap. I stood frozen, unable to pick a single thing. Seeing my hesitation, Leon sighed and began picking out items himself, high-end serums, cleansers, and creams, tossing them into the basket for me.
As we headed back to the car, my arms weighed down with shopping bags, Leon suddenly stopped and turned to me, his gaze searching my face.
"Are you alright?" he asked quietly. "You've seemed off since this morning. Are you feeling sick? Is your leg still hurting from earlier? Do we need to go to the hospital?"
"No, I'm fine," I said, looking at my shoes. "I think I'm just... tired."
"If that's the case, you should get some rest the moment we get home," Leon said, his voice softening.
"Okay, sir."
