He settled on the edge of the bed and beckoned me closer, tapping the spot next to him with an eager smile. "Come here, babe. Let's check it out together."
I moved to the edge of the bed, my heart thumping a frantic rhythm against my ribs. I sat so close to Leon that our shoulders brushed, my breath hitching as he tapped the file to open it. The screen illuminated our faces in the low glow of the room, and suddenly, there I was.
The first image was a full-page spread. I was draped in a structured charcoal overcoat, looking off-camera with a gaze that looked far more confident than I had actually felt that day.
"Look at that line, Babe," Leon murmured, his voice thick with genuine awe. He traced the edge of the screen with his thumb. "The way you hold your shoulders... You look powerful. You look like you own the world."
