No one moved after the message
We remained staring at the screen, as if the image might swallow us if we kept looking at it for too long
Miyoko was the first to breathe
But when she spoke her voice was low
Lower than I expected
"This third party... is not ordinary"
She did not explain
There was nothing to explain
Riko closed the analysis window then opened the image again
He zoomed in
Moved it
Then zoomed in again
"If he wanted to stop us..."
He paused for a moment
Then continued...
"He would have written more than this"
I looked at him
I understood what he meant, but I did not like the idea
I said calmly,
"And what if he wants to test us?"
He slowly raised his head
He looked at me
Then at Miyoko
She did not disagree
That was an answer in itself
Miyoko moved closer to the screen
She pointed at one of the edges of the image, at a small area that was almost hidden
"This is not a random location"
She said it with certainty
"Access to it is restricted... and the area has been sealed off for years"
Riko started typing
New windows appeared
Maps
Old photographs
Property records
"A theater"
He suddenly said
"A private theater... sometimes used for closed events"
He went silent for a moment
Then added,
"Events that are never announced"
I felt a slight tightness in my chest
It was not a vision
Not pressure
Just that feeling that comes shortly before something bad happens
I said,
"So it's a celebration"
Miyoko looked at me
There was something in her eyes that I did not like
"An appearance"
She said
"The celebration is what people are supposed to see... the meeting is what they are not supposed to notice"
We did not discuss the warning
We did not argue about whether we should ignore it
It was as if the decision had already been made the moment the message arrived
All we were doing now...
was catching up with it hours later
We were outside the city
The road was narrower
The trees were thicker
And the air felt heavier
Riko stopped the car at a distance
He turned off the engine
Then said quietly,
"We continue on foot from here"
We moved between the trees
The ground was uneven
Then distant lights began to appear between the branches
And then we saw it
The theater
Its entrance was brightly lit
Luxury cars stood outside
People moved in an organized manner
Men in formal suits
And faces I knew from the news more than I knew them from real life
Miyoko whispered,
"Politicians"
Riko added,
"And military officers..."
But what caught my attention was not what was happening inside
It was outside
Men dressed in black
No badges
No words
They stood around the area, perfectly still
As if they were part of the walls
I watched them and said,
"The security isn't only government security"
Riko did not look at me
"No..."
He said
"This is the organization's security"
We hid among the trees
Far enough away to look like we did not exist
Close enough to understand what was happening
Laughter
Applause
Soft music
Everything suggested that this was an ordinary night
But I knew
Just as the body knows before the mind does
Whatever was happening behind those walls...
had nothing to do with the celebration
I looked at the lights
And I felt the weight of the previous vision returning
Not as images
But as a feeling
I whispered
"Whatever happens here... won't stay here"
No one answered
Because they already knew
And in the middle of all that atmosphere...
everything that seemed like an ordinary celebration...
something was about to happen in secret
Something that could change our society
