Chapter 1 - Court Debut

Somewhere out there sat two misty figures on what looked like and and stared into the horizon.

The one visibly smaller between the two broke the silence.

"Papa."

"What is it boy."

"Tell me a fable."

"I've told you many."

"Tell me another."

"What should it be about."

"I don't know mabye about Exorcists this time?"

Alright," the one known as "Papa" replied, contemplating for a moment. "I think I might have one to tell you."

The boy, visibly overjoyed, sat cross-legged in front of his father and looked up at him. Both were shrouded in mist; one was so grand that no one else could see how they looked, but only each other.

Seeing his boy like this made "Papa" chuckle. "This is the fable known as the Blue Eyed Exorcist."

As he uttered those words, their world faded out, and the boy listened intently to his 'Papa.'

In one of the deepest part of existence resided.

Three thrones in a void the dwarfed everything each felt regal and primal and the one in the middle was the largest amongst the three

An aura of power lingered around them.

Before the thrones floated a platform—a vast expanse that appeared as small as a pebble in comparison.

Surrounding this space were tapestries of beings draped in long, dark cloaks, their forms merging seamlessly with the boundaries of the void, obscuring where one entity ended and another began.

He Their cloaks sported purple outlines with crescent symbols, and they stood motionless, their 'gaze' fixed on the platform that acted as a dock for this enigmatic court.

They were beings of the second dimension

An oppressive silence filled the air, thick enough to be sliced through.

Then, suddenly, a crack formed above the space, and a colossal streak of lightning struck the pebble.

Minor shockwaves rippled through the surrounding area, but the cloaked figures remained unaffected, though they swayed slightly.

Dust filled the air as the platform endured the brunt of the impact.

And then when the dust cleared.

A dark metal box was revealed.

Runes etched into its darkness pulsing with an unseen malevolence the jewels imbedded in it pulsed.

The metal seemed to writhe and twist, and feeding on the shadows. Darkness coalesced around it.

The box's metal surface appeared to absorb the light like a black whole the ground around it had fissures due to the pressure it was applying.

And then out of the bottom legs like that of an arachnid sprouted

The legs propelled it forward with an unsettling, mechanical precision, leaving deep gashes in the stone floor as it moved.

The container's metal surface seemed to ripple and flex, like dark, liquid skin, as it continued its slow, deliberate movement.

Taking in its new surroundings.

Duat-Khaft the infamous coffin of the underworld.

"I've only read about it," one trembled, "but being this close is terrifying.

"Do you think it's dead already."another BK asked but was rather timid and simply faded into the background.

A posh-voiced Book-Keeper replied, "Many powerful gods have perished within its confines.

Perhaps he's already met his demise, rendering this trial futile."

Another short but stout one asked hiding behind another BK quivered,"Do you think he can escape."

The one he hid behind snorted and pushed him away and the one stumbled a bit,

"Escape? Impossible. Duat-Khaft's seals are impenetrable even that monster can't escape."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course I'm.."

Everyone looked at the coffin as saw it bleed and remove taint.

"That proves nothing."

But before he finished, a dent materialized on Duat-Khaft's surface.

Making it sway again.

The metal rippled, repairing itself with it strange liquid alloy.

Another dent formed it swayed, and another, each one deeper, more.

The container shuddered, metal screaming in protest it's crystals glowed fiercely and with that the light around diminished.

It's movement becoming erratic with each growing second.

And that's when the shriekin began, its bloodcurdling shrieking was ungodly the suffering it was going through wasn't just.

Seen it was felt by the Book-Keepers.

The Book-Keepers fell, all panting in painful breaths.

As Duat-Khaft's surface began to seem to struggle in containing a captive.

It stretched.

It bent.

It sheared itself.

The more dents that appeared the more frenzied it became.

And the worse their pain as it's damage passed into their space.

it was bulging now the dock was experiencing tremors

The light around was being sucked rapidly only the glow from the purple crystals gave light to the space which had reduced in number.

The one who scoffed now wondered what was the true monster the coffin or what was inside.

Some archivers tried enhancing their space defenses

But each time the shrieks unraveled their progress.

So the just had to endure until it was over or until their Lord or Lady made it over.

But for Duat-Khaft it was unrelenting in trying to keep the fury it contained.

Trying to subdue creature in an even more powerful domain as it had to increase the strength constantly.

And thinking it was on its last legs surprisingly it managed to subdue it as it stopped struggling and it shrank but to a normal size.

The only light in the space was given by the singular crystals at its center which glowed fiercely.

All the archivers just stared in the direction of the Unholy Artifact.

It looked worn out after subduing it's captive.

It looked like it had aged many years.

As all it other crystals were destroyed and it surface look rusted and cracked.

But it could and would restore itself but it still.

The silence was shuddering to say the least.

But it wasn't even trying to trap these fools it was using all its power for its quarry.

And when all seemed at peace

As it stood still.

A singular crack formed.
