Ana's POV
I froze in the doorway, my chest burning with pain.
I'd known Ridley's actions toward Aileen meant something deeper, but witnessing it firsthand still hit me like a slap.
Aileen jumped up, eyes darting to me. "Ana, my blood sugar dropped and I got dizzy. Ridley just steadied me. Don't overthink this," she said quickly.
"It was only a hug. Nothing major happened."
"Ridley and I go way back as friends, so there's really no need to worry," she continued.
Ridley approached me, his gaze falling on what I was carrying. He reached for the items.
I jerked my hands away, avoiding his touch completely.
"Keep your hands off me," I said icily.
"I already explained. It was a misunderstanding. Stop blowing this up," Ridley replied, barely flinching at my anger.
My mouth twisted into a bitter smile. "No misunderstanding here. We're divorcing soon anyway, so who you hook up with isn't my problem."
