Ana's POV
I had already pulled myself together during my time alone.
When Morris walked in, he could see I wasn't as rattled as I'd been earlier.
"Why didn't you mention Mr. and Mrs. Welch would be joining us? I assumed we were only meeting your boss, Ms. Welch." I kept my voice quiet as I addressed him once he'd settled into his seat. I meant Lisa.
"I figured you already knew." Morris's tone was reassuring. "Don't stress about it. They're both pretty laid-back. You'll get along fine with them."
"It's not like I'll need to deal with them again, so that's what makes this weird. Why would someone as busy as Mr. Welch bother meeting a fake like me?" I pressed.
Morris's mouth curved up slightly. He was the one drowning in work every single day. His father had reached the stage where he globe-trotted with his wife. Morris handled all the family business operations.
"He's probably just curious—wants to see who'd pretend to be their daughter," Morris replied.
