Ana's POV
I spun around and spotted Irvin strolling over with some woman draped all over his arm.
My smile died instantly. I turned my back on him, acting like he was just another face in the crowd—a complete nobody.
Irvin clearly didn't appreciate being ignored. With Morris standing right there, he had to keep his usual nasty temper in check, but I could tell he was dying to make me pay for the snub.
Ever since cashing in on the Vernon family name and money, Irvin had been scoring win after win in business. The success was going straight to his head.
He was getting way too cocky.
His stare turned ice-cold as he glared at me. "So now that you're back playing princess with the Vernon, you're really gonna act like I'm not your brother anymore?"
The word "brother" coming out of his mouth made my stomach turn. I felt like gagging.
Before I could fire back, Morris pulled me against his chest, creating a wall between Irvin and me so we couldn't make eye contact.
