I knew she wouldn't listen to reason.
Elisabeth possessed the kind of stubbornness that could move mountains. Once an idea took root in her mind, she pursued it with the relentless determination of a predator tracking prey. Her unwavering conviction was both admirable and terrifying.
I didn't want to crush the fire in her eyes when she discussed her theories. She believed wholeheartedly in her research, and that dedication was something I respected about her. But this time, her conclusion was dangerously wrong.
Her theory appeared sound on the surface. The attacks against the founding families did follow a distinct pattern.
