Months.

The word hit me like a sledgehammer to the chest, but I refused to let the shock show on my face. I couldn't afford weakness now, not when everything seemed to be crumbling around me. My hands remained steady on the desk, my expression carved from stone.

Months vanished into thin air when it should have been days at most. The impossibility of it made my head spin, but I pushed the confusion down, burying it beneath layers of cold control.

My wolf remained silent in the depths of my mind. Strangely, this didn't worry me as much as it should have. Something deep in my bones told me the connection wasn't severed permanently. My wolf would return when the time was right. For now, I had bigger problems to solve.
