"What? You come to parties to sit around? Act like this is your last day alive! Hey! Where'd Shizu go?" Losing her in the crowd after looking over to Vermelha. "Whatever I'll get her later!" Matsumi almost jumped into the center of everyone, enhancing the energy of the party more and more.
"N-No but!" Vermelha was essentially dragged into the life of the party, to the point where she too was lost in the crowd and by extension she lost Matsumi again. She pouted and shuffled through the crowd trying to find him once more, the students surrounding Matsumi and hyping him on to get more wild.
She found Matsumi easily, just follow the majority of people in the room. Jumping up into the air almost touching the ceiling, flipping a bunch of times while airborne. He landed cleanly, better than before in the matches and managed to spot Vermelha in the crowd. "Hey guys! The MVP came to party! Lift her up!" Matsumi initiated everything as he convinced everyone to lift Vermelha up in celebration, chants becoming almost deafening before having her crowd surf on top of everyone.
Raiden roamed through the crowd almost endlessly, slowly squeezing between people, the crowd only grew in size as the party was getting more and more energetic. He could see Matsumi in the middle but had trouble finding anyone else, still holding and covering the drink carefully as to not spill it once.
Yuki thought on Tengoku's words, her brain was wired just like his in a sense. He wasn't wrong for assuming her stance and situation. She knew that the hopelessness of the present was something she felt before. "Your eyes are like mine. That's weird. People say my eyes make me crazy, are you crazier than me then? I just want to know what happened to her but I don't know if I can wait. I never wait. I can't sit still mentally and let this pass."
"H-Hey! M-MVP?!" Vermelha was lifted by the crowd as they practically pulled her around and threw her up chanting her name, along with 'MVP!' chants, she was red from embarrassment as she looked around.
Shizukana continued to travel until she bumped right into Raiden, even knocking some of the drink out of his hand. She was red as she looked down, the drink spilling all over her shoes. "M-My bad!"
"I don't like to call myself crazy..but I guess You could say that. I look into your eyes and I don't see crazy. I see normal..especially in this world. I'm not asking you to sit and let it pass. I'm asking you to focus on more than right now..because regardless of your external you should still be enjoying yourself."
Raiden bumped into Shizu and turned red immediately as the drink had spilled a little on her shoes. "N-no! That's on me!" He looked down at her shoes then back up at her. "I-I'm sorry! Here's your drink though…haha…"
He laughed nervously as he quickly looked around. "I can find you a towel for you?" He asked out of nervousness and overstimulation from the crowd itself.
Yuki shook her head, how could she enjoy herself right now? All she worried about was her sister and what her situation could entail. If she could entertain this guy for a little bit then she guessed it wouldn't hurt. "Well… I guess I'll try, say who even are you?"
"Yeah! Now you're getting it!" Matsumi also took part in lifting her up through the crowd.
"A-A towel would be okay. I appreciate it very much…" She looked away toward the crowd as they continued to get more wild. She sighed. "It was my fault too, I have to watch where i'm going.."
"I'm Tengoku. Tengoku Akiko…and your actual name? I don't think I caught it."
"W-Wait! This is a misunderstanding let me down! Let me down!" Vermelha pleaded with Matsumi and the crowd.
Raiden shook his head seeing it as his own fault instead, he apologized just as she did. "No it's my fault for spilling it on you to begin with." He looked around as the crowd got more dense, he grabbed her hand quickly. "Come on, I don't want to lose you in the crowd again and we need to get you a towel."
Yuki moved her hair out of her face showing more of the burn marks on her hands. "I'm Yuki Zenin. Nightblade and Assassin" Her frown turned into a small smile.
"What are you talking about? The announcer girl gave you the award!" Matsumi smiled at her. He could light entire rooms with that smile.
"Assassin huh? How's that working for you? Enjoy that line of work? Is that what you're pursuing?"
"I-I.." Vermelha was besides herself at this point as the chants only got louder and Vermelha only got roughed around harder as she was practically being tossed back and forth. They chanted her name as she had basically become the most popular girl in the school thanks to Matsumi's antics and the crowds excitement.
Raiden smiled nervously and lead the way squeezing through the crowd to a corner where towels were set up at. He grabbed one and kneeled down, cleaning off the spilled drink on her shoes and socks. "I didn't think it would get this crazy. I guess leave it up to your guy huh?" He was obviously talking about Matsumi, he laughed nervously and looked up at her once again. "You ever been to something like this?"
Yuki had never been asked that question from someone before, being spoiled rotten meant she always was seen as doing the right thing even if it was morally wrong. "This is the way my life is supposed to go, bartering with peoples lives and making a lot of money I guess." She twiddled her thumbs and tried to not think about it too much.
"Absolutely not. My parents would probably rip my throat out if they found out I was here..but Tengoku urged me to come so I decided it would be a good thing. The normal school experience..that's not even something that I would've experienced usually..but the Rakshasa has been on good terms with the Zenin recently..So they enrolled me."
"Well if that's what you choose who am I to knock it? I have my goals and you have yours…but maybe that's not what's entirely meant for you…maybe there's something more than that..and you can't see it because of your current circumstances."
"Hey! Where's the water? Let's go to the water! Bring Vermelha!" The crowd surfed Vermelha toward the drinks as they let her down near them. They crowded her, asking her questions and talking to her, barricading her in.
"This is a boathouse right? There has to be someplace to swim in." Matsumi ignored them for the most part, only focused on finding somewhere to swim.
Raiden finished cleaning her shoes off and stood back up, he would also be killed if his parents found out about this party to begin with. "I feel that. My parents would kill me if they found out about all of this… but hey who says we can't enjoy it right? We might not be able to have another one for a while." His eyes still gleamed from the lights of the dance floor.
Yuki shrugged unknowing of what she was really even doing by taking on assassins work. "Well I'm a thief, an assassin, and a trader… that's about it when it comes to my skills."
"I-I am not going swimming! Do not do it.." Vermelha's eyes shot past everyone crowding her to Matsumi, somehow being able to hear him over everything.
"I-I should be focused on the exams..they're in a few weeks…yet i'm here…" Shizu looked up at the moon and the night sky sighing to herself once again, moving her hair around. "It's bad enough we need to worry about Matsumi."
"Wow what honorable and citizen abiding skills.." Tengoku laughed to himself throwing his hands behind his head as he looked down. "It's crazy that they just..let good looking women go into fields like that..like oh? You want to kill people or steal things?..Great! You look the part."
"What do you mean?! You must be exhausted after doing all that! Swimmimg would fix you right up!" Matsumi, stupid in his suggestions once more.
Yuki smiled and rolled her eyes, she hated getting compliments from people. "I don't really care to be a pretty girl or whatever. I'm just a cold blooded killer."
Raiden looked over at Shizu, he admired her as his face remained flushed with a red hue to it. "Worry about who? Matsumi? Oh..him. I think he's fine, he's just being a little pushy. I-I mean if he's too pushy someone might have to step in but besides that I think he's fine, haha." He rubbed the back of his heard nervously.
"N-No it would not! What even makes you say that?!.." Vermelha pushed back against Matsumi's suggestion, rolling her eyes.
"Is that truly all you view yourself as? You truly think all you are is the actions you take?" Tengoku frowned at her statement.
"He's annoying but this lifestyle is new to him. We have to remember he's never been someone like here. He's human just like us and he's eccentric. So naturally he's going to be a bit awkward and in everyone's face."
Yuki rolled her eyes and looked at the crowd. "Your actions speak for who you are, it shows who you are compared to your words, actions speak louder than words in any occasion. Your actions define who you are. I'm not a good person and that's okay with me."
Raiden looked up at the moon, a strange feeling of longing dawned on him as he stared up at the lunar object. Something within him stirred looking up at the unknown.
"You're not wrong about that. I just hope he doesn't go overboard." He looked back down at his hands before turning back to her. "This isn't really my lifestyle, honestly I just threw this party to get Gharma to join the team but he's not even here."
"I'd beg to differ. I think you are who you are..and you do as you wish. Your actions come of a byproduct of who you are..You could do whatever you want...It doesn't decide who you are..I mean think about it, do our mistakes also decide who we are? Do our victories always decide who we are? You're not a killer Yuki."
"I suppose so. Gharma huh? So he's your brother I assume? The red haired one with that ability? I mean what is that even about..How is one born with something so overpowering..he could literally change the fabric of the world...he could change society."
"Because I know it'd be fun with you!" Smiling ear to ear, Matsumi's intentions were astoundingly obvious.
Raiden shruggged his shoulders, though him and his brother were close, he knew he didn't have much of an idea on his ability besides when they used to play catch as kids. "Yeah he's my brother, he's not the best when it comes to morality but he's got good in him. The ability is a little unknown to me… the only thing I know is that he's always getting into trouble and I'm always having to bail him out. It's almost like a responsibility at this point because if I don't have anybody at least I'll have Gharma." He sighed and continued staring at the moon. "
"My ability is nothing like his and we both come from the same parents. I don't know how that happened but it also contrasts our personalities. We're not technically fully human so that also contributes to it."
Yuki smiled and changed her mood through Tengoku's words "You know, change is possible it's just hard for some people. I don't think it's impossible for me to change my mind but it might take years to reach that point. I don't know if I'll have anyone left at that point either and that's why I need Cynil because at least she helps me stay in line."
"No! No. I'm not swimming...leave me be.." Vermelha grabbed one of the towels and wiped her face off. "How about you swim?...and if it seems safe i'll get in soon...Do we have a deal Matsumi?" She finished wiping herself and placed the towel to the side before sighing, the crowd started to become more normal in her offer, something she appreciated. Not that she didn't appreciate the attention. In fact, she arguable lived for it..but she did need some space. That was a bit much for her.
"Perhaps he's special..maybe he isn't made for the same path as you...You could also consider inheritance as apart of that..You probably know nothing about your grandparents on your mothers side. Perhaps that may be something that you should look into." Shizukana looked up at the moon, mostly out of curiosity. "What's so special about it? You stare into it's soul with awe yet it stares at you as it exists. Have you ever thought about the mooon in that manner? How the cycles it goes through may decide who and what someone is doing It's almost like it dictates us to an extent. How people we lose in our life, not to death but circumstance, Can somehow gaze at the same sun we do...and admire the same moon that we do?" Shizukana paused, analyzing the creases in the moon.
"We lose so many people in our lives yet we exist under the same stars everynight..and the same clouds every morning. It's sort of like you and your brother. You two may be on different paths..Yet you can always look up and see the same stars."
"I think that's the biggest lie that's been sold to us. That we somehow, for some reason need this arbitrary amount of time to do anything. Yes, technically time is linear...and it technicfally does fleed us...but you don't need time to change. You can change today...and maybe it'll be hard...but I think you could do better. I'm not saying give up your line of work. I know many others that walk into that life. The thing about it is once you walk into that life that's all your life truly exists as. Deep down I know you want more of your fate. Deep down every man and woman does. We can not exist as our actions because every man yearns for sometheing far more grandiose. Perhaps even far more admirable."
Tengoku looked to the same moon as Shizukana and Raiden, only that the four were in different parts of the party, just like Shizukana had described before.
"There's something in every man who looks up at those stars..and looks down to the feet that he steps forward with everyday. Our dreams...Those dreams...Perhaps that's what you search for through your work. A purpose. I don't believe for a second your dream is to become a killer. For someone with your beauty, skill and prestige that's far..far to shallow. What you really search for is that dream...That everlasting purpose to push you forward...Look for that and you may stay on the trackc you speak of.."
Tengoku took her hand and smiled. He looked at the burn marks.
"These are simply a sign of you chasing that very thing..they are not the thing you desire.." He let her go and leaned back in his chair once more, adjusting his shirt a bit.
"I know I keep saying it but really i've seen that path a countless amount of times. Perhaps you think because your sister is going through a chapter...no...a season of Travesty that you may have nothing...So allow me to make you an offer..not a sale but simply an offer...I have no intention of implying that the two are equivalent in any manner...but if you have nobody than perhaps let me be there as a confidant. A friend. Someone you can trust."
"For real?! You can't take it back after you say yes." Matsumi was excited, very close to Vermelha's face.
"Yes yes. I promise. Girl scouts honor." She held her hand up comedically.
"You said it! Hey, you!" His voice piercing into Kasaru's ears. "Come with us already! Nobody is gonna have a bad time today, I won't allow it! Hahaha!" With that Matsumi gathered whichever people wanted to follow him as they escaped to the back of the boathouse, quickly throwing his shirt and jacket off before plunging himself into the nearby lake with no hesitation. "Ahh! It's cold! Hahahaaha!"
