Camilla's POV

The sharp zip of my suitcase echoed through the bedroom, a sound that felt like closing one life and opening another. I had been lying here for what felt like hours, staring at the ceiling while my mind churned with everything that was about to change. Eden had finally stopped hovering over me, convinced that I didn't need a doctor despite my earlier episode.

Thank God for that small victory. Her worry was sweet but suffocating, and right now I needed space to think. She knelt beside the bed now, my packed suitcase standing at attention next to her. Everything I owned that mattered for work was folded neatly inside, ready for whatever came next.

I pushed myself up slowly, my body still feeling the exhaustion from earlier, and walked to my nightstand where one precious thing waited for me. My fingers traced the edge of the picture frame before I picked it up.
