Camilla's POV

The captain's voice cut through the hum of the aircraft engines, calm and professional as he announced our descent. His words pulled me from the restless half-sleep I'd been drifting in and out of, my eyelids heavy as I blinked against the soft cabin lighting. I shifted in my seat and glanced toward Elsie, who was curled up beside me, her small frame tucked against the window seat.

She was still lost in dreams, her breathing steady and peaceful, completely oblivious to the chaos that had upended our world in mere hours. We'd fled my apartment before sunrise, racing through empty streets to catch this flight. Everything had been rushed, frantic, leaving no time to process what was happening.

Elsie had barely managed to wake up properly, and I hadn't even had a moment to think clearly about what came next.
