Camilla's POV
My eyes snapped open before dawn, the room still wrapped in darkness. No alarm clock needed. My body had developed its own internal schedule, one that pulled me from sleep whether I wanted it or not. I sat up slowly, pressing my palms against my face and exhaling deeply. The morning air felt crisp against my skin, carrying that quiet stillness that made everything feel suspended in time.
Today meant reporting to headquarters early. That alone should have been reason enough to wake up on schedule.
But I knew better. The real reason sat heavy in my chest, a mixture of anticipation and dread that had been building for weeks. This wasn't just about work anymore.
