Camilla's POV

I'd had enough. Enough of sitting in this cramped backseat, enough of the endless uncertainty, enough of pretending that staying here would somehow change what was waiting for me inside that building. No amount of stalling would transform my anxiety into confidence or untangle the knots forming in my stomach.

Time to stop hiding. The cab driver's eyes found mine in the rearview mirror, silently questioning whether I planned to actually exit or continue my brooding session.

Drawing a slow breath, I finally grabbed the door handle.

The moment my fingers touched the metal, another vehicle slid into the space directly beside us, its engine humming with expensive precision. Perfect timing. My hand stilled on the handle, annoyance flaring hot in my chest.

Seriously? This driver couldn't see I was about to step out? The audacity. If I'd opened my door just seconds earlier, it would have been torn right off.
