Some women clearly never learned basic manners. The encounter from this morning still burned in my memory like acid on my skin. She had not only destroyed my phone but had managed to poison what should have been a perfectly good start to my day. I exhaled slowly, trying to shake off the lingering irritation, though I knew that girl's smug face would haunt me for hours. The sting from her deliberate slap still pulsed through my fingertips, and that calculated shoulder check replayed in my mind like a broken record. If I had caught her name tag, maybe I could have avoided the whole mess entirely.

I forced myself to refocus as I approached the office, knowing I needed every ounce of concentration for what lay ahead.
