Chapter 1 - Making wishes

Aurelia shot out of bed, trying to breathe. She clutched her chest, still feeling the weight bearing down on her.

Her vision blurred slightly before coming into focus. Her breathing became less shallow until she was able to breathe normally. Only then did she notice the room she was in.

Did someone save me?

She looked around the room. The white walls with peeling paint. The old furniture looked as if it would fall apart at any moment. The first thing she thought was poor. Whoever saved her was really poor.

She didn't really care if they were poor or not. What mattered was that they saved her life. She brought her hand up to her chest slowly, expecting to feel pain. However, when she touched her chest, she didn't feel pain. Not only did she not feel pain, but she didn't feel any breasts.

She looked down at her chest, trying to cup the breasts she knew should be there, but she didn't feel anything.

Anxiety rippled through her. She didn't understand how she managed to lose something that should be attached to her body. She looked around the room for a mirror. She didn't understand what was happening, and she needed to see it for herself.

She couldn't find a mirror in the room, so she got up and went to look for the bathroom. Getting up, she noticed that although the room was small, it was neat. She found the bathroom and walked in. Smaller than what she was used to, but still clean.

She looked at the mirror and covered her mouth, frightened that instead of seeing her reflection, she saw someone else. She waved to the person, who waved back at her.

Noticing the motion, her heart started pounding because she realised it wasn't someone else in the mirror, it was her. She moved randomly just to ensure she wasn't crazy. She saw the face in the mirror, the horrified look that the face in the mirror repeated.

She could feel her eyes go fuzzy, and before long, she fainted.

Had there been anyone else in the room, it would seem as though she were having a fitful sleep.

Aurelia woke up just as the sun was setting. The twilight, casting shadows. She felt the cold floor tiles against her skin. She groaned as she touched her head, a dull pain spreading.

She stood up slowly and looked at the face in the mirror.

This time, she was surprised. When she fainted, she received the memories of her new body. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

She raised her hand and traced her face. Although a bit malnourished, it couldn't hide her beauty. An elegant oval face, full, plump lips, a cute button nose and expressive almond eyes, complemented by olive skin, were things Aurelia could live with.

She didn't have a problem with the way she looked before, but she thought this face was more balanced. Her previous body had a longer face with high cheekbones; her lips were not so plump, but they weren't thin either.

Either way, she thought, everyone has their own beauty. And now, as she looked in the mirror, she realised, this beauty belonged to her. The only thing she was sad about was the runway on her chest.

Making her way to the kitchen, her stomach growled. She decided to make something to eat before, thinking about anything else.

She looked around at the minuscule amount of food in the house and couldn't help but sigh, then she cooked everything. The little rice, potato and the piece of chicken she saw would be her last meal in this house.

She couldn't help looking around the small house again. Shaking her head, she sighed. I guess this is why they said, be careful what you wish for.

She thought about the fact that she wished to meet her favourite character. She was out with friends, watching the meteor shower. It was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I guess you could say that's what it was for her.

All she did was make a wish. The next thing you know, she opened her eyes to a blinding light and bam, she woke up here.

As for this place, she remembered the book Starlight Princess. The very same book she is in now. She couldn't say she would excel as the female lead, but at least she wouldn't die early.

Aurelia Starlight, formerly known as Aurelia Boston, is basically the wealth-giving girl for the heroine. Everything she finds or has somehow ends up with the heroine. Whether it's the ungrateful parents or the vicious brother and sister, there is no one in her corner.

When she goes to Rhea Academy, a place for the strong. She is immediately placed in the box of an outcast because of her mousy attitude. Coupled with the fact that the heroine always makes people see her in a bad light, and her refusal to defend herself.

Aurelia could only sigh.

She didn't want to go through that. But what's done is done. Someone was already sent to pick her up. Tomorrow, she would leave the only home she has ever known to go to a place filled with people who despise her.

Well, they don't despise her yet. So as far as Aurelia is concerned, there is definitely hope.

She took her time eating, thinking about the parents of this body. She couldn't think of her own parents because she didn't have any. She grew up in an orphanage.

But for this body, she had loving parents until the age of 15. When the disasters struck three years ago, she lost both her parents. She used the insurance money for their funerals, and the little that was left was for her schooling.

She found a way to work odd jobs and survived until 18.

She didn't have the money to go to university, so she planned to work until she could afford it.

What she didn't expect was that her parents would find her, only a week after she turned 18. Makes one wonder if they had known how she was living all this time and just didn't want to find her.

It didn't matter whether they knew or not. What mattered was how she handled it. And she had no intention of being a stepping stone for anyone.

Aurelia finished eating and decided to take a shower. Even though she hadn't been awake for long, she still felt tired. She had a migraine from the fall earlier, and she simply wanted to ignore the situation for a while.

She took a shower and went straight to bed while complaining that the sheets weren't as comfortable as the ones she used to use.
