Chapter 13 - hot water

Damn it… it's already been five minutes since I woke up from my fainting spell, and still no one in sight. I'm tired of lying on the floor.

Clack.

Keys? Finally, someone is coming in. I thought I could escape, but I was being delusional. From where I was lying, I squinted my eyes and saw the door slowly open. Two big muscular guys entered the room—one with a bucket of water, the other with a plate. They were going to throw cold water on me again. Great.

Guard A: "Do you think he'll survive that?"

He asked the other guard.

Guard B replied,

"It's not our problem. We just follow orders. If the boss wants us to throw hot water—"

Angi: "WHAT?! HOT WATER?!" Hearing that, I couldn't help but scream, cutting him off. I immediately forgot about my hunger.

Guard A: "Ah! He's awake!"

Guard B: "Yeah, but we couldn't throw the hot water on him… the boss is going to be mad."

Angi: "Are you completely insane?! That's attempted murder!"

Guard A: "Don't worry, now that you're awake, there's no need for hot water anymore!"

*This guard seems nicer than the other one…*

Suddenly, a voice echoed through the room. It came from the loudspeaker.

Loudspeaker: "Who said it was over?"

Guard A: "Ah! Boss, you're there, haha…"

Guard B: "Boss, what are your orders now?"

What did he mean by 'it's not over'?

Angi: …

I could only watch them helplessly. My body was trembling, still in shock from what had just happened. While the guards were talking to their so-called boss, I noticed the door was slightly open. I thought, now or never.

Without making a sound, I got on my knees like an athlete at the starting line. I was sweating from nervousness. I gathered all my strength.

One… Two… Three… GO!

I ran as fast as I could. The guards didn't even have time to react.

Guard A: "Huh…?"

Guard B: "Shit! He's escaping!"

I burst out of the room so violently that I think I slammed into the doorframe. With all my momentum, I turned around and locked the door.

Clack.

Silence…

Then—

BAM!

Angi: "Kyaa!" I fell to the ground. One of the guards had slammed the door and startled me.

Angi: "You bastards!" I screamed from behind the door. I really thought I was free. I couldn't even jump for joy because I was too hungry.

I rushed downstairs to the kitchen. At least there should be something to eat there… but I didn't expect there to be a loudspeaker in the kitchen too.

Loudspeaker: "I see that you're really desperate."

I was too busy eating to answer him. And I hadn't forgotten what he did last time.

Loudspeaker: "Hm? What's wrong? You don't want to answer anymore?"

Angi: … You bastard.

On the table, I found a few fruits. I checked the fridge, but it was empty. The guards had brought a sandwich with them earlier. Did they really think giving me a sandwich would make up for throwing hot water on me?

Good thing I was already awake… otherwise, I would have been boiled alive.

Loudspeaker: "…You know this isn't over."

Angi:* I don't care.*

Loudspeaker: "Are you mad? Why?"

Angi: …

Loudspeaker: "I really didn't mean to hurt you. You know… I'm just trying to help you."

Angi: 💢

Loudspeaker: "Ah! You'd better answer me, or I'll order one of my guards to come get you and throw you into my four-meter-deep swimming pool!"

*What?! He's completely insane!*

Someone, please save me… I can't even swim. I had no choice.

Angi: "Fine! Don't give any orders. I answered you. Happy now?"

Loudspeaker: …

Angi: "…Huh?! Is he making fun of me?!"

Loudspeaker: "I can hear you perfectly, you know. And I also noticed you like to insult people. Now it's my turn."

Angi: "Go ahead, then."

Loudspeaker: "Ha! Okay! You're just a **** **** **** who **** ****—"

Angi: "WHAT?!"

"And you're just a **** **** **** of your **** mother!"

Loudspeaker: …

Angi: "So? You're not talking anymore? Hm?"

Loudspeaker: "I was wondering why I was even wasting my time arguing with you. It's useless."

Angi: !!!

Loudspeaker: "With a single snap of my fingers, I can have you killed on the spot. I don't even know why you're still alive after insulting my mother."

My whole body was trembling. He really sounded furious and dangerous. I think I had pushed him too far… but it wasn't even my fault—he started it.

Loudspeaker: "I truly hate your insolence! Hey, grab him!"

Angi: "What?! No! Wait! I'm sorry! You're the one who started it!"

Loudspeaker: "Here, there is no 'who started it.' There's only the kidnapper and the hostage."

Loudspeaker: "Take him to the guest bedroom and tie him to the bed."

Guard: "Yes, boss!!!"

How did things turn out like this?

Angi: "Wait! Let me go!"

I was dragged by force into one of the villa's rooms and tied up on the bed.

Guard: "It's done, boss! The mission is accomplished!"

Loudspeaker: "Alright, you can go. I'll come see him myself."

Angi: !!!

They covered my mouth with tape. I couldn't speak anymore. I struggled, but it was impossible to free myself.

Loudspeaker: "Why are you struggling so much? Oh! Don't tell me you're impatient to see me!"

Angi: "Mmh! Mmh!"

Loudspeaker: "What? I can't understand what you're saying. You should try to articulate"

Loudspeaker: "Anyway, I'll finish what I'm doing first… then I'll come pay you a little visit. See you later."

Angi:* Damn… what am I going to do?*

I had no idea what was going to happen to me, but at least now I would finally see the face of the man who kidnapped me.
