Chapter 74 - Do You Think I’m an Ordinary Genius?

As Su Cheng and Ning Rongrong entered the lounge, the green-haired old man's eyes flashed like lightning as he looked over.

The moment he widened his eyes, the temperature in the entire lounge seemed to drop several degrees. Those dark green pupils that seemed devoid of any trace of life revealed not only coldness, but also a cruel and sinister aura.

Even with Su Cheng's eyesight, before he could clearly see what the old man had done, the latter had already appeared in front of him like a phantom in an instant.

At this moment, the deep-purple-haired girl who had been sitting with the old man finally reacted. She hurriedly stood up and shouted loudly, "Grandpa!"

Ning Rongrong beside Su Cheng changed expression slightly and reminded him in a low voice, "Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo."

Dugu Bo glanced at her upon hearing this, but did not say anything. Instead, he focused his gaze on the少年 in front of him.

For some reason, he felt that this boy, who was even younger than his granddaughter, was strangely pleasing to the eye. The aloof aura on his face unconsciously softened a little.

"The potion that Yan Yan used earlier—did you give it to her?" Dugu Bo said coldly.

"Grandpa!"

At this moment, Dugu Yan also ran over and tugged at her grandfather's sleeve, then looked at Su Cheng with a trace of apology.

To be honest, although this had indeed been Su Cheng's intention, Dugu Yan's behavior was not entirely appropriate. At the very least, she should have informed him first.

However, they had only just met not long ago. He had given her the potion, and it was normal for her to let her elder take a look at it.

Yù Tianheng's side had even directly reported it to his clan.

Su Cheng thought this through in his mind, but his expression remained unchanged. He looked at Dugu Bo and nodded, saying, "Senior Dugu, that potion was indeed given by me to senior sister. But is there something inappropriate about it?"

Upon hearing this, Dugu Bo's expression darkened slightly, then he narrowed his eyes and stared at Su Cheng in silence.

As a Titled Douluo, even without releasing any aura, a slight change in demeanor was enough to make people feel fear.

For a moment, the air was filled with tension.

In the distance, Yu Tianheng's expression changed slightly. He felt both nervous and puzzled. He had always been somewhat afraid of Dugu Bo, and now he appeared even more flustered.

Dugu Yan was also at a loss, opening her mouth but not knowing what to say.

Standing beside Su Cheng, Ning Rongrong frowned and was about to step forward to argue.

Noticing her movement, Su Cheng quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist, stopping her from acting further.

He calmly met Dugu Bo's gaze, his eyes like water, clear and bottomless.

The cold expression on Dugu Bo's face suddenly relaxed, and the slightly stagnant atmosphere instantly dissipated.

He laughed loudly and said, "Good state of mind, good courage. Boy, I admire you very much."

"I wonder what Senior Dugu means by that."

Dugu Bo reached out and patted his shoulder casually. "No need to be so distant, why call me senior? You can just call me grandpa, like Yan Yan does."

Su Cheng: "..."

In the past, I called you Brother Dugu, and you called me Mr. Su. Now you want me to call you grandpa?

Even if the two worlds cannot be treated as the same, I still can't bring myself to say it.

Of course, Su Cheng only complained inwardly.

He bowed slightly to Dugu Bo and said, "I am honored by your appreciation, Senior. However, my master is Sword Douluo Chen Xin, so it would really be inappropriate to disrupt the generational hierarchy."

"You became Chen Xin's disciple?" Dugu Bo was somewhat surprised and glanced at his granddaughter.

She had not told him about this matter.

Dugu Yan also felt a bit helpless at this moment.

She had not yet had time to explain Su Cheng's situation to Dugu Bo in detail, yet Dugu Bo had rushed over impatiently after merely testing the potion.

But she was also a little surprised. Since when had her grandfather become so easy to talk to?

"Yes!" At this moment, Ning Rongrong spoke up from the side. "My brother is Sword Grandpa's only direct disciple. How could he call you grandpa?"

"Then why do you still call him brother?" Dugu Bo sneered.

Ning Rongrong's pretty face instantly turned red. "We each address people our own way."

"Then we can also each address people our own way."

"Senior, this is inappropriate."

Su Cheng quickly interrupted their argument and signaled Ning Rongrong with his eyes to say less.

Seeing this, Dugu Bo did not continue the topic. What he had said earlier was only casual talk anyway.

Since Su Cheng was Chen Xin's disciple, it was naturally impossible for him to acknowledge Dugu Bo as his grandfather.

This was different from the way juniors like Ning Rongrong interacted.

After glancing at the people around, Dugu Bo patted Su Cheng's shoulder and said, "Boy, come with me."

He then turned around and walked toward a separate room on the side of the lounge hall.

Seeing this, Ning Rongrong showed a worried expression and tugged at Su Cheng.

Su Cheng looked at her and said softly, "It's fine. Just wait here."

After that, he nodded toward Dugu Yan and Yu Tianheng, then followed him.

After entering the room, he casually closed the door.

Seeing his action, a trace of approval appeared in Dugu Bo's eyes.

He then said seriously, "Boy, are you very knowledgeable about medicine?"

"My name is Su Cheng, Cheng as in sincerity." After correcting the other party's form of address, Su Cheng continued, "To be precise, it's not medicine, but rather I have studied the medical path more."

"Alright, Su Cheng. At such a young age, it's one thing to understand medicine, but you still have time to study the medical path?"

Dugu Bo showed disbelief.

"Senior, there is inequality from birth. Family background, environment, talent, personality—everything is like this," Su Cheng said calmly. "Just like martial soul awakening. Some people are born with full innate soul power, destined to become Titled Douluo material. Some people are born with zero innate soul power and cannot even become soul masters. Other aspects are the same."

"So you mean you're also a genius in the medical path?"

"Exactly."

"You really dare to boast," Dugu Bo did not get angry, but instead laughed at his words.

"Senior, you are poisoned," Su Cheng glanced at him and said directly. "Your hair color, your eye color, even your scent—all of them are evidence."

"Bullshit!" Dugu Bo's expression changed drastically.

"I know the influence of beast martial souls on the human body. Senior, there's no need to deceive me. We have no利益纠葛, and I have no reason to threaten you."

After the two stared at each other for a moment, Dugu Bo's expression finally softened. "You're right. With your talent, and now being favored by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, there's no need for you to covet anything from me."

After a brief silence, he spoke with difficulty, "Since you can see that I am poisoned, do you think there is a way to cure it?"

"I can try."

"Then try. If it doesn't work, being able to treat Yan Yan would already make this old man extremely grateful."

Actually, he understood his own condition very well and did not hold much hope.

But the毒性 on Dugu Yan's body was still shallow, so he still held a trace of hope in Su Cheng's ability.
