Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: My Tail.. Tale

Feast That Is About to Begin:

Life's a funny gambler, isn't it? Let me give you a quick world introduction—don't worry, I'll keep it short.

Centuries ago, humans discovered they could hunt beasts pouring out of wormholes. But those wormholes didn't just drop beasts; they brought humanoid monsters too. The leader of the human settlement welcomed them into the tribe, and surprisingly, things stayed peaceful for a while.

These monster tribes lived with us, but kept their own rituals and weird traditions. Eventually, the wormholes stopped dropping humanoids and instead threw demons and violent beasts at us. War broke out. Some monsters betrayed humans; some fought beside us. The rebel-versus-loyalist chaos changed everything.

Long story short: humans, demons, and monster-like species made peace… mostly. Each faction still has its own internal friction. Humans focused on progress—import/export, tech, developing skills, avoiding war, and keeping M-Earth safe. Some humans awakened ancestral bloodlines, giving us power to fight beasts normal humans could only be eaten by.

That's all you need to know.

1: The King of Night:

The night was glowing with youth, pleasure, and money raining down. People were laughing, crying, dancing in the casino; until we reached the poker table.

"Hah! You people are nothing but meat-brains, hahaha!" A man in a black lavish suit cackled as he swept up the money of four Minotaurs. One of them slammed the table and flipped it across the casino. "You son of a bit—"

Silence fell. The man calmly raised a finger, resting it on the trigger of a shotgun. "Shh~"

"This much love at first meeting? I'm loving it!" he smirked. The Minotaurs attacked—one with a fist, one with an axe, one with a hammer.

"Iyaaaahhhh!! Will you really—" The guy tore off his hat and glasses, eyes welling with tears. "Will you—ahhh—is this it…?"

The Minotaurs hesitated. One laughed. Another stepped forward—only to get punched straight in the jaw.

The second Minotaur reacted instantly, punching back. Their fists collided and a shockwave rattled the floor. The man stumbled back several steps, face twisting in pain.

"Aahhh mother—ahh it HURTS! Do you eat stones for dinner, huh!?" he yelled. The Minotaur leader growled, "What are you looking at!? Kill him!"

The Minotaurs charged all at once. People closed their eyes, some opened them wider than humanly possible.

"Ahhh it hurts! I hate Minotaurs….ahh it hurts!!!!" the man yelped, cursing their tribe, race, history, ancestors, future generations, and whatever else came to mind.

The Minotaur leader's eyes widened. Breath caught in his throat. Finally, he screamed as he his men were lying on the ground breathless:

"You… you're HIM. The Bounty Hunter Duskvale."

The man looked at him. The Minotaur tried to speak: "YOU—YOU ARE THE LO—"

A gunshot cut him off.

The crowd watched the Minotaur collapse—silenced by a human. Then someone shouted:

"That human disappeared!"

Another whispered, "Was he the Night Prince?"

"I heard he's a ghost, not a human…"

On top of a distant rooftop, the man adjusted his black suit, black hat, and blue glasses.

"I am Riven Duskvale… bounty hunter. The one they call the Night Prince."
