Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Tenryū Yuto

[Author's Note: The protagonist of this book is not a saint who wants to save the world, and he is not a deranged monster who treats everyone around him like trash.

He is just a normal person who transmigrated into the body of a Celestial Dragon.]

Sea Circle Calendar, Year 1498.

Something big happened that year.

The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, turned himself in to the Marines.

Under orders from the World Government, Roger was escorted by the Marines to Loguetown to be publicly executed, in order to intimidate the other restless pirates across the seas.

Of course, none of that had much to do with Tenryū Yuto.

After all, he was one of the noble, great, untouchable descendants of the gods.

In short: a Celestial Dragon.

Having lived in this world for sixteen years, Yuto felt like he was on the verge of being completely assimilated by the utterly shameless lifestyle of the Celestial Dragons.

He slowly woke from his sleep. Before he even had to say anything, a fair-skinned, long-legged maid with a beautiful face stepped forward, knelt, and bowed.

"Saint Yuto-sama, please allow me to wash your face."

"Mm…"

Yuto gave a soft reply, still half asleep and not in the mood to talk.

The maid bowed again, then picked up a disposable silk towel embroidered with gold thread and gently began to wipe his face.

Her movements were extremely careful, as if she were terrified of triggering Yuto's morning temper.

Although Yuto was not one of those particularly violent Celestial Dragons, he had not shed any of the other habits that came with being one.

The maids who lived in the Holy Land had long gotten used to seeing colleagues executed over the tiniest of "offenses." Naturally, they had all developed the habit of treading on thin ice.

Once his face was washed, Yuto felt much more awake. With the maid's support he sat up from the bed, and three more maids immediately appeared to help him get dressed.

Even after more than ten years of this, Yuto still felt like he was being raised into a complete waste of a person.

"If I am being raised useless, then so be it. There are so many people on the sea who would kill for this treatment and never get the chance."

After a brief round of self-comfort, Yuto accepted the maids' service with a clear conscience.

Once he was dressed, Yuto stretched a little and gave an order to the maid at his side.

"The weather looks good. I'm planning to go down to the lower world for a bit. Go call a few CP agents to come with me."

"Yes, Saint Yuto-sama."

The maid bowed and hurried off.

Even though CP was technically the Celestial Dragons' personal protection force, Celestial Dragons usually did not have CP agents guarding them when they stayed in Mary Geoise.

Mary Geoise was safe enough, and there simply were not enough CP agents for every Celestial Dragon to have a full-time bodyguard.

Normally, CP would only escort Celestial Dragons when they wanted to descend to the surface, especially when traveling long distances by sea.

Sometimes, if they were only going as far as the Sabaody Archipelago, a Celestial Dragon might not even bother calling CP.

Those idiots genuinely believed that nobody on the sea dared lay a hand on them.

Yuto was also planning to head to Sabaody today. But there was no way he would leave with just a ship full of maids and slaves.

What a joke. Even Captain Kuro's brain-dead plan to kill off an entire family and take their inheritance had somehow earned him the evaluation from Oda as "the second smartest man on the seas, just behind Benn Beckman."

Sengoku, who came up with a simple encirclement and reinforcement trap that almost backfired, was already called a "brilliant tactician."

In this world where everyone was supposedly "born gifted," there were still plenty of people who were dumber than Celestial Dragons.

You never knew when some hot-blooded idiot like Luffy might pop up. Getting punched a few times would be a small matter. If he accidentally exposed his true strength and got picked by the God Knights, that would be a real problem.

Ever since the God Valley Incident, the Celestial Dragons' "hunting tournaments" had not been held for many years.

These days, the God Knights could only select from among the Celestial Dragons who obviously possessed combat talent.

Yuto fully intended to become the final boss of this story. If he joined the God Knights, wouldn't that put him right at the front lines?

Breakfast consisted of a lavish spread of one hundred dishes. Yuto sampled a little of everything. After the maid wiped the soup from the corner of his lips, he changed into a space suit, put on a bubble helmet like a giant fishbowl, and walked outside.

Two masked CP agents were already waiting for him. Beside them, an eight-meter-tall small giant lay prone on the ground, a golden throne strapped to his back.

This was Yuto's exclusive mount.

"Let's go."

Sitting down on the golden throne, Yuto gave a simple command. The slave beneath him started crawling forward with extreme care, leading the way toward the Red Port.

As someone who had once lived in modern society, Yuto had not been able to get used to the Celestial Dragons' lifestyle at all in the beginning.

Even now, he still could not senselessly slaughter slaves without the slightest psychological burden.

But he also understood that if he wanted to keep a low profile, the best method was to blend in.

Whether it was Donquixote Homing and Mjosgard from the original story, or various transmigrator predecessors, they all loved to act "special."

The two lunatics from the Donquixote Family chose to betray their own class.

The transmigrators were even worse.

Some trained themselves like maniacs. Some openly turned on other Celestial Dragons for the sake of slaves. Some risked their lives to join the God Knights. Some refused to wear space suits or bubble helmets. Some were so insanely cruel that even other Celestial Dragons could not stand them.

People like that usually attracted the attention of the Five Elders, or even Imu, before they reached adulthood, and then went through all kinds of hardships.

For what?

Would it kill them to keep a low profile?

They could not even handle a few barbed comments. Yuto seriously suspected that some of those transmigrators had not actually been adults before they crossed over.

Since he arrived in this world, Yuto had always been a practical man. If he truly bore a grudge against someone, he would simply look for a chance to get rid of them. "Face slapping" for the sake of it meant absolutely nothing to him.

Mary Geoise covered a vast area. At the pace of the slave under Yuto's throne, it still took more than an hour to get from Yuto's residence to the Red Port.

Yuto yawned.

"No wonder that bunch of idiots is always looking for new ways to have fun. I'm about to die of boredom."

No one dared respond to that. Yuto had not expected them to answer anyway.

When they arrived at the World Government's exclusive harbor, guards in full armor with their faces completely hidden were already kneeling on both sides of the path. Yuto, riding on the slave's back, passed between them and entered the bubble cable car.

From ten thousand meters in the sky, they slowly descended to sea level, where a gigantic cruise ship was already waiting.

The Sanctum.

Of course, it was not Thanos's ship. This Sanctum was specially built for Yuto's first voyage.

He planned to sail often in the future. How could a Celestial Dragon show off his noble status without an exclusive cruise ship?

A few hours later, the Sanctum docked at the port of the Sabaody Archipelago.

Area 16, Slave Auction Hall.

"Two hundred million Beli."

The voice was not loud, yet it instantly silenced the entire auction hall.

The auctioneer immediately put on a fawning smile.

"Congratulations, Saint, on acquiring this mermaid slave."

Yuto ignored him and turned to leave.

Today's auction had offered neither Devil Fruits nor any powerful pirate slaves, which left him rather bored.

The auction world could not afford to lose Donquixote Doflamingo, just like the West could not afford to lose Jerusalem.

Still, picking up a mermaid to keep as a living ornament was not a total waste of time.

Without paying attention to the maid behind him who was dealing with the payment procedures, Yuto left the slave auction hall under the protection of the two CP agents, planning to wander around a bit.

Almost everything in Area 16 revolved around slavery. In front of the dazzling shop windows along the main street stood slaves of all kinds, some with graceful figures, others with powerful builds.

To be honest, the first time he walked down this street, Yuto's world view had taken a serious hit. Compared to that version of himself, his current calm, even slightly interested expression felt like that of a completely different person.

Suddenly, a blonde woman standing behind one of the floor-to-ceiling windows with a faint smile on her face caught Yuto's eye.

"Huh? Why does she look kind of familiar?"
