Chapter 3 - Let me tell you how much I hate you

Her pale skin and striking features were barely covered by a torn white gown? It looked like a piece of torn fabric at this point to be honest. The milk white of her skin was overwhelmed by dirt and blood yet still couldn't hide her beauty.

Her long white legs were fully revealed up to her mid-thighs. Her bare thighs, shoulders, and some belly flesh all had one thing in common, wounds.

My breath shook as my mind raced with a million different emotions, but the most apparent was… hate.

I want to tear the flesh of everyone who hurt her. Bit by bit, pull out their lungs, kill all their loved ones in front of them, break them completely, than burn them alive.

It was the rawest form of primitive hate that one just couldn't describe.

It made sense to feel this way for a scumbag but I wasn't the type to be this emotional.

And she was nothing but a stranger…

Who is she?

With some shakes of my head, I tried to school my emotions. There were far more important things than just daydreaming about an imaginary enemy.

Like, she was still bleeding! Does she not have that passive? Don't tell me she's a normal human…

I could only assume all vampires had [Nobelese].

No, then she should be long dead from something like that coffin. She had stopped using it some time ago for some reason…

I need to check on her. The strange connection I am feeling to her… I could learn a lot from her, probably. I felt a strange possessiveness towards her, like she belonged to me.

And, even without that, I can't just ignore such a scene. I let out a tired sigh.

As I was drifting towards something positive, just staring at her eyelashes and red lips, the piercing pain in my arms brought me back to the gruelling reality.

The cuffs knotted so tightly, binding me to this disgusting cell. I soon focused more on the cuffs with the [Eye of Sanguine]'s 360 like vision.

There were three different levels to the thick cuff. I realised as I used the microscopic zoom of [Eye of Sanguine]; the first three inches of the surface were rusty red, the other two light brown, but the last two greyish silver with barely any hints of brown.

…Hmm, they are scrawny and rusty. Very old, I suppose. My eyes couldn't help but light up.

My dear master must have used these randomly as a temporary binding to tie me last time. Makes sense since he needs to open them quite often to change the 'equipment'.

My lips curled partly as I pushed my back back, and a scratchy texture overwhelmed my bare back, like it was an old tree's branch.

After confirming it with my arms and legs, I knew what I was cuffed to… A wooden stake!

I rubbed my back against it for a few seconds, trying to identify what I had seen from my 360 vision, and soon… I found it. Smooth and cold, made of bricks, a brick wall!

I can use the gaps in the brick to hold the cuff, and then pull my hand out of it… I winced, imagining the pain with my battered hands, and I solidified my will. For freedom!

Without hesitation, I shoved the edge of the cuffs inside the gap between two bricks.

Crackle! Shing!

With a loud battle cry, I pulled my arms with all my might.

Tham!!

Nothing happened besides my heart pounding hard at almost dislocating my shoulder.

It would need more than that, it seems. I smiled bitterly, twisting my wrists and yanking my arms once again.

More!… More!

After a few minutes of pure agony of rubbing and yanking my bleeding wrists on the rusty metal cuffs and dusty brick walls, half my palms and thumbs of both hands were finally out!

Covered in deep bloody wounds worsened by musky sweat rubbing them.

Just knuckles left, you can do it! My jaw tightened enough for it to hurt as I straightened my fingers, preparing for that final push.

Tham!!

My upper body fell out without the cuffs' support as I hit the stone floor face-first.

Hah! Gah!

My face contorted in pain. I am out… I am free!! I bit my lip, ignoring the pain with a triumphant grin. I never knew it would feel this good to just move my arms freely.

I shivered at the freezing stone floor. I guess it's the middle of winter here… Being warm against a really cold floor used to be pleasant; otherwise.

Like in my old dorm room that I shared with my four friends, where the AC never worked. I didn't realise I was smiling.

I was happy to be a vampire in what seemed like a supernatural world, but… Something was missing. A sigh escaped.

The next breath of dust-filled, cool oxygen brought a strange warmth to my broken body.

Soon enough, I tried to stand up, using my broken hands and twisted wrist that I couldn't even feel because of the overwhelming rush of adrenaline.

That feeling lasted only a few seconds as my hand supporting my upper body wobbled, and I fell again, breaking a tooth.

My fingers! My eyes twisted as my bleeding mouth trembled in horror.

They had curled completely… in the opposite direction, the joint covered in a purple hue.

My eyes shut close, unable to look at it, my teeth grinding in pain. Unconsciously, I wanted the pain to stop. I wasn't even intending, but just as my conscience noticed that want, my blood hastily flowed down towards my right hand.

It stopped vibrating, though still twisted. I blinked, then, with an audible cry, forced them into a clenched fist.

Next second, It looked flawless….

This… My eyes were wide enough for my pupils to fall out. This was an injury that required at least two months to recover, minimum. And even that with permanent damage for the entire.

Though movements in my entire body were much sluggier afterwards. Was this still the effect of [Blood for Vitality]… Nothing else made sense; passive couldn't be that fast.

[Yes, blood, even if yours, can heal you, though less blood means less energy till (Nobelese) recovers it.]

My palms started to itch as I began shaking like a crackhead. All the pain from the beginning felt worth it. My powers are just… way too awesome!

This thing will actually help me a lot in the long term, because I can only assume how vastly different the speed of recovering energy would be rather than healing this brutal of injuries. I nodded in approval.

Wasting no time, I smashed the already clenched fist into the cuff on my right leg.

It didn't budge at all. Surprise, surprise. Sometimes, I really do doubt my intelligence. I thought as my fingers that were just getting better screamed with burning pain.

Hmm, maybe…

I tried to think of something new, but yanking the legs out would just waste too much time. Time can't be wasted when my master could barge in at any second.

A shiver ran down my spine imagining the guy who took out two immortal vampires. I need to escape without meeting it!

Only if I could lockpick these cuffs… I sighed, staring at the cuffs tied high up my muscular calves.

Just as I was deciding on how to break them, my feet went cold.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

"…"

I LITERALLY JUST THOUGHT OF YOU!! I practically screamed at the sound of footsteps. What kind of devil tongue this was.

As I focused on the echoing sound, I realised… Two people were coming.
