Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Hayasaka Ai, the Slightly Greedy

"What is that weapon? A new type of ranged weapon? Who developed it? The Hephaestus Familia?"

Ryuu fell into confusion, looking at the strange new short-barreled weapon that Hayasaka Ai was holding and playing with. She couldn't figure out what kind of weapon it was at all.

Her status parameters hadn't been updated in a long time; the only update she had received was right before her patron goddess, Astraea, was driven out of Orario.

But she hadn't given up exploring the Dungeon because the remnants of the Dark Faction that had harmed and ambushed her Familia were still active in Orario.

This new type of weapon was light, easy to conceal, quiet, fast-firing, and powerful, making it perfect for personal carry. In a crisis, it could quickly be used for a counterattack.

Shoot! I'm about to be discovered!

Ryuu cried out in her heart and desperately tried to suppress her aura, wishing she could merge with the surrounding walls and stones.

She saw Tsuyuri Kanawo glance in her direction, and that small beast being held by the girl in the strange battle uniform with the orange ponytail seemed to have also noticed her.

This was because her aura had become slightly turbulent and vibrated when she suddenly thought about the Dark Faction moments ago, which allowed them to sense something was amiss.

"Lord Lin Feng, Koro... seems to have sensed someone spying on us nearby."

Seryu walked up to Lin Feng, holding Koro. She strained to stand on her tiptoes, trying to whisper the news into his ear, but due to the height difference, Lin Feng had to squat down a bit to hear what she said.

"Someone?"

Hearing Seryu's tip-off, he quickly turned his head and scanned the area. Ahem, unfortunately, he didn't find anything unusual.

"Lord Lin Feng, that person probably realized we noticed them and has likely hidden again or left this place."

Seryu saw Lin Feng's reaction and continued to explain.

"Seryu, Kanawo, if there's more fighting later, I need you two to pay attention to the surroundings. Tell me immediately if there's any movement."

Lin Feng immediately gave them new orders.

"Yes!"

Ryuu, observing the situation from a distance, saw this situation and could only reluctantly retreat for the day, heading back to the surface.

After Miss Ryuu left, Lin Feng's Familia team continued to explore the Dungeon for a few more hours.

"Congratulations, Master, on completing the Unicorn Rabbit Kill Achievement, receiving two lottery opportunities, for a total of five opportunities."

"Finally completed! Although this level spawns Unicorn Rabbits, there are still a large number of Goblins and Kobolds getting in the way, annoying!"

"And there are no new monsters on this level. From the current situation, to farm new achievements, we need to go to deeper levels."

Lin Feng couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief upon hearing that the Unicorn Rabbit achievement was complete. Spending long periods in dark places and having to guard against monsters suddenly appearing from nowhere was mentally exhausting.

It really was better to come to a Dungeon with a team, unless the strength difference was huge. Otherwise, the mental stress and physical stamina would be severely impacted.

If you're cheating, then ignore what I just said.

"Let's take a break!"

Seeing Hayasaka Ai, Seryu, and the others successively dealing with the remaining monsters, Lin Feng suggested a rest.

"Shaobing (Baked flatbread)?"

The group sat down together and took out some dry rations they had bought before entering the Dungeon that morning. Seeing the familiar food, Lin Feng couldn't help but exclaim.

"Lord Lin Feng! You scared me!"

Hayasaka Ai looked like she was almost startled, her free hand patting her chest a few times to show that she was indeed scared just now.

"Hey, hey, hey! You padded that! If you keep patting like that, even your Lady Kaguya will surpass you."

This sentence, of course, was something Lin Feng suddenly thought of in his mind when he saw the scene, but he absolutely couldn't repeat it out loud. Otherwise, even as a god, he would probably be cornered...

"Do you have water?"

"Yes! I bought two full water bottles from outside!"

Seeing Hayasaka Ai take down the water bottle hanging in front of her, Lin Feng was impressed. She was indeed an elite talent who had worked as a close maid, considering all aspects thoroughly.

If a girl who only knew how to fight were the leader in the Dungeon, they would definitely suffer a considerable impact in these areas.

For example, if Katō Megumi or Kanawo were the captain, it certainly wouldn't be the situation they were in now.

"Little Ai! You did very well! You deserve a reward!"

If they weren't sitting so far apart, Lin Feng would have reached out and ruffled her soft, golden hair a couple of times as encouragement.

"Hehe, then... that pistol?"

"Cough cough!"

Lin Feng, who had just taken the water bottle and was drinking, was choked by Hayasaka Ai's words.

This was his only one! He could only get it from the Big Lottery Wheel.

And Lin Feng had only fired a few shots since getting it yesterday; he hadn't played with it enough at all.
