Chapter 5 - Part 5

"Hey G, do you think you can give me a signed copy of your next book? I really want to give it to her for her birthday." It was Wednesday, so Ava didn't have theater practice today. Instead, she decided pestering Geo would be more fun than homework.

"My next book won't be out for another month or so..."

"That's fine, her birthday is in June, I am sure she is going to love it. Though I am surprised you have much time to do much else with the hours you spend on writing. I heard many writers go into the morning hours when they are really into it, but I doubt that's you. You don't seem the least bit tired in the morning when I have to ride the bus with you."

But how often is that?

Her ever changing spirit asked. She thought about it, and realized that she rode the bus at least once a month. "If I didn't know better, you would think I was the only one you hang out with. Being on the bus by yourself must be lonely, especially since you sit in the back."

"I like the back, it is away from the other annoying freshmen in my class. Plus I am trying to get good grades, so having friends, especially party animal ones, isn't really the best option right now. There is no way I am going to try to be friends with the older kids, they will just think I am annoying. It is best I wait until next year." Geo informed her as he kept typing.

"Everyone needs a friend. I am sure some of my theater ones would be willing to hang out with you. Most of them are chill library kids like you anyways so it will be perfect!" Before Geo could object, she was already gone.

Everyone needs a friend

"I have you Nox, that's all I need." Geo said before he continued working.
