Chapter 33 - No coincidence is too much; a chance encounter with Gu Yue, Tang Wulin

"From this moment on, you are a member of the Spirit Pagoda."

After reviewing the documents filled out by Shi Yu, Deputy Tower Master Li announced and gave Shi Yu a token. This token serves as identification for personnel of the Spirit Pagoda.

"Can I enter the Spirit Ascension Platform now?" Shi Yu naturally didn't want to waste time, after all, he might only have a few days left.

"You're really in a hurry," Vice Tower Master Li said with a light laugh, also expressing his understanding.

After thinking about it, he decided to take Shi Yu there himself, so he could see how Shi Yu would perform in the Spirit Ascension Platform and whether his spirit rings would be able to manifest due to the stimulation of the energy within the platform.

Led by Vice Tower Master Li, Shi Yu arrived at a relatively advanced Spirit Ascension Chamber.

There is only one spirit-ascension pod inside, where a person can lie down. There are usually two, but this one is more private and has more functions.

When Shi Yu came in, she looked around curiously. She was mentally prepared, but she still found it novel.

"Go lie down inside. You might feel a little uncomfortable for a while, but that's normal. Don't be nervous," Deputy Tower Master Li said to Shi Yu while adjusting the equipment.

"Okay," Shi Yu said, and lay down in the spirit-ascension pod. It was quite soft.

The hatch above slowly closed, and soon an uncomfortable feeling arose, not physical, but mental.

Sleepiness overwhelmed him, and he soon fell asleep.

Shi Yu felt as if he was crossing some kind of boundary again, somewhat like time travel.

It was only for a very short time; his vision cleared up in just a few breaths, and he was able to see again.

He looked around and saw trees everywhere; he was in a forest, surrounded by silence.

Shi Yu took a deep breath and could feel the smell, hearing, sight, and touch—it was all incredibly realistic.

"This technology is really ahead of modern technology," Shi Yu thought to himself.

The consciousness is completely immersed in a virtual world, and all the sensations are incredibly real, as if one were actually there. This technology can be said to be far ahead of modern times.

It might not be entirely due to technological advancements, as extraordinary power must have been incorporated into it.

It's not possible to create such a realistic virtual world using only technology.

Shi Yu didn't dwell on these thoughts. Right now, his concern wasn't technology, but rather how to find the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear he wanted.

Looking around, I couldn't find a clear direction for a while, and it seemed like I could only rely on luck.

I chose a direction based on my intuition and focused intently on perceiving the surrounding space.

His spatial awareness seemed to be more acute here, and a lot of information was fed back into his mind.

They didn't pay much attention to trees and grass; their main focus was on spirit beasts.

He could roughly sense the distribution of soul beasts within a radius of a thousand meters. This information was fed back to him by space, much like radar positioning.

With a roar, Shi Yu appeared in front of a wolf-like spirit beast. Upon seeing him, the wolf-like spirit beast immediately charged fiercely, its eyes filled with a predatory glint.

Shi Yu did not dodge, but instead gathered his soul power and struck the wolf-like soul beast with a palm.

An energy hand materialized in the space ahead, slamming the wolf-like soul beast away until it crashed into a tree and broke it before stopping.

"Awoo!" The wolf-like spirit beast let out a weak howl before its body became ethereal, as it had been killed and transformed into energy.

"Is it really that powerful?" Shi Yu was just trying it out, but he didn't expect that mobilizing the spatial power would have such power.

He has no soul skills, only a masterful control over space, which allows him to create a variety of moves.

For example, the palm strike just now was a basic attack that mobilized spatial power.

He channeled the power of space into his palm and slammed it down, the force of which seemed unusually heavy.

"Is the control over space that powerful?" Vice Tower Master Li, watching the live feed in the Ascension Chamber, looked on in surprise.

Above Shi Yu was a barely perceptible electronic eye that displayed his live footage on an electronic screen.

Deputy Tower Master Li watched with great interest.

He had just witnessed Shi Yu's abilities; it turned out that Shi Yu's teleportation skills were not the only thing that mattered.

The energy transformed from the slain soul beast flew towards Shi Yu.

Shi Yu knew what it was, and didn't resist it, letting it enter his body.

Carefully sensing the changes in his body, he was also curious to know if this energy would stimulate the activation of his spirit rings.

He had spirit rings during the Douluo Continent II: The Peerless Tang Sect era, but he lost them after transmigrating. It's unclear whether they completely disappeared or were hidden away.

If it's the latter, then there's a possibility of releasing it.

The energy was absorbed by his body, making him feel more energetic, but that seemed to be all the changes he experienced; there were no other changes.

"Is it not working? Or is it because I haven't absorbed enough energy?" Shi Yu wasn't sure which was the case.

They continued their search in the forest, hoping to get lucky and encounter the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear.

He decided to go in one direction, and the closer he got to the edge, the greater the probability of encountering the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear.

He encountered many spirit beasts along the way, all of which he ruthlessly killed and absorbed their energy.

There haven't been any major changes in my body, except for some swelling.

"A group of people are attacking a soul beast?" Shi Yu suddenly looked in one direction, sensing movement there. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to go and take a look.

He started running, constantly teleporting, each time only moving a dozen meters or so, worried that moving too far would make it difficult to control his landing point and might cause more trouble.

He quickly approached and hid behind a tree to observe secretly.

At first glance, one is drawn to the vibrant colors; an ordinary-looking girl is using a combination of several elements to launch an attack.

Those vibrant colors are the colors of elemental energy: the crimson of fire, the dark yellow of earth, the cyan of wind, the blue of water, the gold of light, the black of darkness, and even the occasional glimmer of silver light—this is the power of space.

"Gu Yuena?" When Shi Yu saw so many elements appear, the first person he thought of was Gu Yuena. She had mastered multiple elements, which happened to be earth, fire, wind, water, light, darkness, and space, all of which matched.

"It should be Gu Yue, then who are the others...?" Shi Yu searched for Tang Wulin's figure.

That's easy to find. Whoever is the bravest, or whoever is releasing Blue Silver Grass, that's basically it.

With the bloodline of the Golden Dragon King, Tang Wulin is incredibly strong in close combat; few can rival his prowess.

He quickly locked onto one person who was closest to the soul beast and, with the help of the others, was constantly attacking the soul beast with the golden blade in his hand.

A constant scraping sound could be heard; the soul beast's fur was as hard as metal, and its sharp claws sparked and flashed when they landed on it, making it difficult to break through its defenses.

I hope you can add it to your favorites and vote for it. Your support is my greatest motivation. Thank you so much.
