Chapter 49 - Isobel Is Back

Her scent was still here, though it was a bit faint, I could tell that it was fresh. It came with the passing breeze, caressed my nose and then it quickly disappeared again.

I quickly moved forward and I tried to ignore the tension I felt in my chest. Logan and the pack warriors followed closely behind me, but the more we walked forward, the more uneasy they became.

It wasn't just her unstable scent that was strange. Everything was everything.

The air was filled with tension and although there was no wind, the trees kept moving around and it made me feel uneasy. The forest was quiet except for the sound of our footsteps under the crunchy leaves, but I couldn't brush off the feeling that something was watching us.

I clenched my fist in frustration. I didn't have the time for this. I couldn't afford to waste time.
