Chapter 7 - 7

Soon, it was Shangguan Mo's group's turn.

Shangguan Mo walked to the small open space encircled by students, checked the Ninja tool pouch tied to his leg again, and counted the wooden Shuriken and Kunai placed inside.

Only when he heard his homeroom teacher shout, "Ready," did he raise his head and form the Confrontation Seal with the person opposite him.

Inoshita Riya, the third-grade homeroom teacher, nodded slightly when he saw that both of them were ready, then shouted loudly.

"Start!"

As soon as his voice fell, the person opposite quickly pulled out several Shuriken from his Ninja tool pouch and shot them towards Shangguan Mo.

Setting everything else aside, just considering the speed of launching an attack, his performance was absolutely impeccable; he already possessed the focused style of a Ninja, causing the two Ninja holding scoreboards outside the field to nod slightly and record something with their pens.

Watching the Shuriken cover his entire body, Shangguan Mo's face showed no surprise; attacks of this level had no effect on him.

With a slight pull of his right hand from his Ninja tool pouch, a dark yellow wooden Kunai was already clutched in his hand.

The Kunai flew up and down in front of him, his feet not moving an inch, and all the incoming Shuriken were knocked away by him.

Immediately after, he crouched slightly, holding the Kunai in his hand, and quickly rushed towards the person on the other side.

The person opposite was slightly startled and also quickly drew her wooden Kunai. Seeing Shangguan Mo raise his Kunai and attack her face, she raised her arm to block.

But then she found that one of Shangguan Mo's knees was already resting on her chest.

Her face turned slightly pale, with a hint of annoyance.

"You clearly said you'd go easy on me earlier. I'm performing so poorly, in a bit…"

Before she could finish her sentence, Shangguan Mo's lips moved close to her ear, and he spoke in an extremely low voice.

"This assessment is very unusual. Performing too well might not be a good thing…"

The exhaled breath brushed against her face, and the slightly flushed person was momentarily stunned. Her pouting little mouth finally quieted down, and then she quickly reacted, a hint of emotion appearing in her eyes.

"Mo-kun, then you…"

What she wanted to say was, if you don't want me to stand out, won't you yourself perform very well?

"It's nothing. My ability to save my own life is stronger than yours."

Shangguan Mo comforted her with a smile in his eyes.

"Winner, Shangguan Mo!"

Inoshita Riya called out, then turned to look at the well-behaved girl in the class.

"Don't be disheartened, student. We are all ordinary people. Geniuses are always rare. The fact that you can enter the Ninja School itself proves your talent in Chakra cultivation, doesn't it?"

Inoshita Riya felt great pity for this lonely child. She had always been very obedient in his class and studied very hard. To prevent her from being too disheartened, he quickly comforted her at this moment.

"Thank you, Riya-sensei, I'm fine!"

She smiled gratefully at him, then turned to look at Shangguan Mo, who was clearly more mature in temperament than the other students, feeling very conflicted.

"What is truly in his heart? He's an orphan just like me, so why is he so intelligent and calm, and also possesses… such good talent…"

In just over an hour, this assessment ended.

The students, without waiting for any surprises, were called back to their classrooms by their teachers, looking bored.

Third-grade classroom!

Looking at these half-grown children with their youthful faces, a hint of reluctance flashed deep in Inoshita Riya's eyes. He took a deep breath, a very gentle smile appearing on his face.

"You all can self-study in the classroom. No messing around! Shangguan Mo, help me keep an eye on them! If anyone disobeys and causes trouble for me, tell me after class!"

After speaking, he looked at Shangguan Mo in the last row.

"Mm…"

Nodding helplessly, Shangguan Mo softly acknowledged.

He, a promising young man from the 21st century, had transmigrated to the Ninja World and become the class monitor for a group of ten-year-olds.

It was simply like a joke!

It would be an embarrassment to other transmigrators if word got out…

This was also why he wasn't very popular with his classmates. Whenever something happened, those classmates thought it was because he, as the class monitor, had reported them to the teacher…

After about half an hour, Inoshita Riya returned to the classroom with a downcast expression.

His gaze swept across the classroom, and Inoshita Riya's heart sank even further.

"Next, those whose names I call, please come out with me!"

Taking a deep breath, he finally spoke with difficulty.

"Shangguan Mo, Murakami Rin…

Li!"

When the last name was called out by him, Shangguan Mo's expression subtly changed, and he turned to look at her, frowning slightly.

"It's alright, Mo-kun, aren't you still here?"

Seeing that he seemed a bit unhappy, she instead comforted him, but as soon as the words left her mouth, she seemed to realize something was amiss, and her little face flushed slightly. She turned her head away and subtly observed Shangguan Mo's expression.

Seeing that he didn't seem to mind, her expression relaxed slightly, but for some reason, there was also a faint sense of disappointment in her heart.

"The school has a very dangerous mission to assign to you. For you… it's very, very dangerous!"

Inoshita Riya said to the dozen or so children in front of him with a heavy expression.

"So, Riya-sensei, are we going to face those real Ninja now?"

A boy asked casually, his face full of excitement.

Shangguan Mo glanced at him indifferently, shaking his head slightly in his heart.

"Murakami Rin!"

Inoshita Riya lightly shouted, glaring at him.

"You don't know what you're about to face. It's the Evil God Cult, far more terrifying than ordinary Ninja. I think you should have heard this name, and you should also know what the Evil God Cult represents in the Land of Hot Water!"

Hearing Inoshita Riya's words, the previously excited Murakami Rin instantly turned pale and swallowed hard.

Shangguan Mo, who was beside him, also took a slight cold breath, his expression becoming somewhat solemn.

"Sigh…"

Seeing the students' panicked expressions, Inoshita Riya sighed deeply, then actually bowed to them!

"I apologize! It is us adults who are useless! To actually make you children bear responsibilities that you shouldn't have to!"

Seeing this, even Shangguan Mo was greatly shaken. A feeling he had never experienced before rose in his heart, as if at this moment, he truly integrated into this world, simply because he genuinely felt how kind-hearted this teacher was!

Only by truly caring about these students and feeling immense guilt would one apologize to these little children…

Shangguan Mo's face showed a heartfelt smile. He stepped forward and helped Inoshita Riya, who was still bent at a ninety-degree angle, gently comforting him.

"Teacher, there's no need to blame yourself too much. Isn't facing slaughter and evil the destiny of us Ninja?"

Inoshita Riya stared at him blankly, as if truly understanding this unique half-grown boy for the first time!

"Thank you, Shangguan Mo. I feel much better, Teacher."

"Then, will Teacher also go on this mission?"

Shangguan Mo changed the subject. He always found it difficult to deal with others' genuine emotions.

"Yes, you students will still be in class-based squads, and I will be your captain."
