Chapter 2 - 4687 & 46888

Everyone entered, and the gate slowly closed.

For a moment, they all revealed strange looks.

"What is this place? Why is my power being suppressed?"

"There seem to be many treasures ahead."

Among them, aside from Lin Moyu, Wine Venerable was the calmest.

He had been to another heaven-and-earth before, and in that other heaven-and-earth his power had also been suppressed. The feeling now was somewhat similar.

Instinctively, he thought this was another heaven-and-earth. But on second thought, it didn't seem that simple—not entirely the same.

"Interesting."

"Friend Lin, why don't you introduce this place?" Gold Supreme squinted at Lin Moyu with a smile.

For someone who had lived countless years, there were very few things left that could pique his interest.

Now that he could come to this legendary place, Gold Supreme's mood clearly lifted.

Lin Moyu said,

"This is the Heaven-and-Earth Wall.

More precisely, we are in the outer layer of the Heaven-and-Earth Wall."

He pointed into the distance.

"See those treasures over there? That is the interior of the Heaven-and-Earth Wall—but we can't go in."

"Can't go in?" Gold Supreme asked.

Lin Moyu smiled.

"You can try. There will be no danger."

Gold Supreme gave a grunt of acknowledgment and waved his hand.

A swarm of bugs flew out and, before long, crashed one after another into an invisible wall, unable to move forward even half a step.

"There is an invisible wall here," Lin Moyu said, "blocking the way forward.

I, Lin, cannot open this wall and can only gaze at the treasures in vain."

Naturally, he could not tell the whole truth.

He spoke half-truths, half-lies, making it impossible for others to tell what was real or false.

North-Pole Supreme said in a low voice,

"Friend Lin doesn't know how to open this wall either?"

Lin Moyu shook his head.

"I don't. Back then, I was lucky enough to obtain a key, but it could only open the outer gate.

You seniors can try yourselves—perhaps you'll find a way to break through the wall."

After a brief moment of thought, the North-Pole Supreme and the others went over to try.

Lin Moyu ignored them.

This barrier was something even a Supreme Being could not break; how could these few possibly manage it?

Wine Venerable did not move. He believed Lin Moyu's words—since Lin Moyu had already tried, there was no need for him to waste the effort.

Gold Supreme likewise did not personally act, but he sent out swarms of bugs, scattering them in all directions to probe.

In the end, they would find nothing. Gold Supreme seemed to understand this as well.

"Besides the visible but untouchable treasures," he asked, "is there anything else here?"

"Of course," Lin Moyu said. "Please follow me."

Without hiding anything, Lin Moyu directly led Gold Supreme to the last remaining spatial passage.

The spatial passage rebuilt by Little Tree still existed and remained intact.

"Where does this spatial passage lead?" Gold Supreme asked.

"It leads to another heaven-and-earth," Lin Moyu said.

"More precisely, to the remnant of a heaven-and-earth."

"Heaven-and-earth remnant?"

Gold Supreme paused, clearly not understanding.

He was indeed a Supreme, but he did not know that other heavens-and-earth existed beyond this one.

Lin Moyu explained,

"The Chaotic Ancient Wilds is one heaven-and-earth.

Besides the Chaotic Ancient Wilds, there are other heavens-and-earth as well.

This passage can lead to another heaven-and-earth.

But the other end is very dangerous. I nearly died there last time—only escaped by sheer luck."

What he had entered last time had indeed been another heaven-and-earth—dangerous, but not to the point of certain death for him.

Lin Moyu was again mixing truth and falsehood.

The end of the passage before them was a heaven-and-earth of overt danger; it was indeed extremely dangerous.

He blended truth and lies together and easily deceived everyone present.

"Is there anything else besides this passage?" Gold Supreme asked, staring at it, clearly tempted, yet not acting immediately.

Lin Moyu nodded.

"There should have been many, but for some reason, all the other spatial passages collapsed. Only this one remains relatively intact."

As he spoke, Gold Supreme released another group of bugs.

This group of bugs clearly possessed spatial abilities.

After a round of sensing, Gold Supreme said softly,

"Friend Lin is correct. There indeed were many spatial passages here, but they've all collapsed.

Judging from the traces, they collapsed a very long time ago—at least several hundred thousand years, if not more."

Lin Moyu smoothly followed up,

"Then does Senior have a way to repair these spatial passages?"

There were countless types of insect—if there existed some strange breed capable of repairing spatial passages, it wouldn't be impossible.

"I'll give it a try," Gold Supreme said.

He too was extremely interested in these spatial passages.

If they could be repaired, that would be even more interesting.

He sent out various bugs with spatial abilities, attempting to restore the passages.

Unfortunately, those passages had been broken for too long.

Despite his best efforts, Gold Supreme could not repair them.

In the end, he could only sigh.

"No way. Too much time has passed—cannot be repaired."

Lin Moyu had long anticipated this outcome.

If they could be fixed, Little Tree would have done so already.

He did not believe Gold Supreme surpassed Little Tree in matters of space.

Just then, North-Pole Supreme and the other two returned.

After their attempts, they had confirmed that they could not break through the invisible wall.

Those treasures within the wall could only be seen, not touched—a very unpleasant feeling.

The level of those treasures was extremely high. They even had a vague sense that if they could obtain them, their strength might improve greatly.

Lin Moyu said,

"Last time, I nearly died inside.

This time, my cultivation has improved, and I plan to try again—but it will also be my last attempt.

What do you all plan to do?"

North-Pole Supreme glanced at the gate, which had already closed again.

"If we choose not to go in, how do we leave?"

"Before I, Lin, reveal the way out," Lin Moyu said, "I have one request and hope you all will agree."

They all frowned.

They hadn't expected Lin Moyu to raise a condition at this time.

But without him, they would likely be trapped here. It seemed they had little choice but to agree.

"I want you all to swear upon your Dao-heart," Lin Moyu said.

"So long as I do not take the initiative to act against you, you must not act against me—including your subordinates; none of them may lay a hand on me either.

If the oath is violated, your Dao-heart will be damaged and your realm will fall."

This oath was both heavy and not heavy.

As long as they did not attack Lin Moyu and kept their subordinates from attacking him, the oath was effectively meaningless.

But thinking further: in the midst of the Great Calamity, Lin Moyu was the Heaven-and-Earth Public Enemy.

Once they swore, they were cutting off their path of killing Lin Moyu to prove the Dao.

So this oath that seemed light was in fact very heavy.

The faces of the three Supremes of the Northern Pole were anything but pleasant.

Gold Supreme, however, looked unconcerned and said nothing.

Wine Venerable, who had been silent, suddenly spoke and immediately swore that he would never be Lin Moyu's enemy.

He had never intended to act against Lin Moyu, nor did he have any subordinates—this oath cost him nothing.

With his example, Gold Supreme chuckled.

"Friend Lin has done this old man a favor.

I have always been clear about gratitude and resentment—how could I possibly strike at Friend Lin?"

Then he too swore his oath.

An oath upon the Dao-heart was more effective than any other kind.

In the end, the three Northern Pole Supremes could only swear as well—they did not want to be trapped here.

At this moment, they already somewhat regretted coming in at all, and that emotion showed in their eyes.

Lin Moyu found it amusing.

You were the ones who insisted on entering; I didn't force you.

Once they had all sworn, Lin Moyu smiled faintly.

"That gate opens outward, not inward.

If you wish to leave, just pass through it."

"So simple?"

The three Northern Pole Supremes felt as if they'd been tricked.

If it was so simple, why had they needed to swear?

Even without an oath, with a bit of searching they could have found the exit.

Yet just like that, they had severed their chance to advance.

They suddenly realized that from the very beginning, they had been led around by the nose by Lin Moyu.

After cultivating so many years, they had actually been played by a junior.

Anger rose in their hearts, but the oath they had just sworn was still in effect; they could not act against Lin Moyu.

"Hahaha!"

Gold Supreme burst into hearty laughter.

"Friend Lin, truly excellent methods."

Falling on the ears of the three Northern Pole Supremes, his words were like the sharpest mockery.

Lin Moyu said,

"I'm only doing this to protect myself."

For those three, swearing such an oath had enormous benefits—but doing so also played into the hands of the Calamity Supreme and the Wild-Sky Desolation Dragon.

They wanted him to accumulate karma and bathe in blood, so as to spike the reward Heaven-and-Earth would give for killing him.

If he really slaughtered several Supreme-level figures, that reward would soar, and they might move against him immediately.

He had to seize the initiative and keep every fluctuation of the Great Calamity in his grasp, forcing the Calamity to follow his rhythm.

That was precisely why he had gone to the trouble of bringing the three Northern Pole Supremes here in the first place.

Otherwise, they would never have had a chance to enter.

"The only opportunity here," Lin Moyu said, "is the other heaven-and-earth beyond that passage—but it is extremely dangerous.

Before you go, you'd best think carefully about the consequences."

"Let this old man test it first," Gold Supreme said.

He summoned a large number of bugs and sent them into the spatial passage.

With the Insect Stele, Gold Supreme could track the movements of these bugs and sense what they experienced.

The bugs burrowed into the passage, flying farther and farther until they reached its end.

"Hm?"

Gold Supreme suddenly grunted softly, his expression turning complicated.

"How is it?" Lin Moyu asked.

"It is indeed very dangerous," Gold Supreme said.

"Once my bugs went over, more than half died immediately; less than a tenth managed to escape back."

This was good news.

Lin Moyu had already said it was dangerous, and now that only a tenth of Gold Supreme's bugs had returned, it meant there was still a way out.

As long as there was a way out, they didn't need to fear for their lives—at least their survival was not in question.

"I'll try again," Gold Supreme said.

This time, he used more and stronger bugs, among them one with Half-Supreme combat power.

These bugs passed through the spatial passage and entered the heaven-and-earth remnant.

Gold Supreme's brows knitted tightly again.

"The danger at the passage exit isn't that great," he said.

"At least my big bug can withstand it.

But if it flies a thousand li deeper, the danger greatly increases."

The implication was that the Half-Supreme-level bug had died after flying a thousand li in.

"Within that thousand-li range at the exit, did you find anything?" North-Pole Supreme asked.

"There were indeed some discoveries," Gold Supreme said.

"There are some strange flowers and herbs growing there, and among the plants, there are some peculiar stones.

Those stones look like metals—probably good materials.

Aside from that, I didn't find much.

If you want to know more, you'll have to go see for yourselves."

Even saying that much was already quite generous; if he'd found anything important, he certainly wouldn't share it.

The three Northern Pole Supremes hesitated, but the desire for the unknown flickered in their eyes.

From their looks, Lin Moyu knew they would definitely go.

He said to Wine Venerable,

"Senior, be careful once you go in. If there is danger, pull back first."

Wine Venerable had experience visiting other heavens-and-earth and understood how these things worked.

"Thank you, Friend Lin. This old man understands."

Lin Moyu nodded, then said to the others,

"Everyone, I shall go ahead."

With that, he flew into the passage and vanished.

"I'm going as well," Gold Supreme said with a light laugh, following Lin Moyu into the passage.

Wine Venerable was the third to enter.

For a time, only the three Northern Pole Supremes remained within the Heaven-and-Earth Wall.

They exchanged glances.

"We won't split up," North-Pole Supreme said softly.

"If there's danger, we retreat at once. Prepare all life-preserving methods."

The three linked their auras as one and entered the spatial passage together.

The passage was not long.

Lin Moyu passed through quickly, and the moment he emerged, an attack fell upon him.

The attack had no discernible source, carrying immense shredding force—enough to kill a Chaotic-Realm great-achievement cultivator.

Lin Moyu ignored it and did not stop, casually picking a direction and flying off.

Outside the passage, a faint mist of water covered the space.

He hadn't flown long before the exit was already out of sight behind him.

Along the way, attacks kept raining down.

For Lin Moyu, they were nothing more than a tickle.

Not long after he left, Gold Supreme flew out of the passage as well.

A faint light radiated from his body, taking the shape of a bug and forming something like armor around him.

Gold Supreme likewise ignored the attacks and flew forward. The direction he chose differed from Lin Moyu's.

Then Wine Venerable appeared.

He immediately summoned a large gourd; the gourd split open and wrapped around him, and he too flew into the distance.

The three of them each chose different directions.

Lastly, the three Northern Pole Supremes appeared, wrapped in cold ice as they chose yet another direction.

As Lin Moyu flew farther ahead, the attacks grew stronger and stronger.

Gold Supreme had not exaggerated—the attacks beyond a thousand li were indeed capable of wounding a Half-Supreme, though killing one would still be difficult.

After flying a thousand li, Lin Moyu felt the attacks intensifying.

These attacks came from this heaven-and-earth itself, endless and unavoidable.

Under the continuous barrage, Gold Supreme's big bug died quickly.

This was also because, being in another heaven-and-earth, once the bug moved too far from the passage, it lost contact with the Insect Stele and its power dropped sharply.

After all, it only possessed Half-Supreme battle strength; it was not a true Half-Supreme.

Without the Insect Stele, its strength was not even equal to a Chaotic-Realm Perfection cultivator.

If it were a true Half-Supreme, then even cut off from its home heaven-and-earth, it would still have many ways to preserve its life.

Leaving the thousand-li range and probing another thousand li deeper would be no problem; it was not as unimaginably dangerous as it seemed.

"It's not as bad as imagined," Lin Moyu murmured to himself.

He took out the Calamity Scepter and summoned the Hongmeng Stone.

"Hongmeng, see where the heaven-and-earth core is."

He had come here precisely for the heaven-and-earth core.

He wanted to use the core to observe this heaven-and-earth.

Even though it was now a remnant, it was still worth studying.

Once he understood it, he would refine this heaven-and-earth—giving part of it to the World-Burning Fire and keeping part for himself.

Through the Primordial-Heaven Art, he would fuse its essence into Yushen Heaven-and-Earth, making Yushen Heaven-and-Earth stronger.

Once this heaven-and-earth was fully refined and completely destroyed, anyone still inside who failed to withdraw in time would fall into a Life-Forbidden Zone.

If they died that way, the cause would not be counted against him.

Lin Moyu was not going to concern himself with their lives; at most, he might pull Wine Venerable out.

As for the others—forget it.

The Hongmeng Stone surveyed the surroundings, then pointed in a direction.

"There, master.

You must be careful—this heaven-and-earth was once a six-cycle heaven-and-earth.

There may be hidden dangers here."
