Chapter 3 - Starving for Victory

Calvin grabbed the remaining buns, launching them at me. I twirled, leapt, and caught them all—two in my left hand, two in my right, one in my mouth. The crowd stared, dumbfounded.

I crouched down, frantically gathering everything. "Is it Christmas already?"

Stefan stepped forward, blocking my path. "Get it straight. I'm bullying you."

I grinned, patty in hand. "I didn't know bullying came with so many tasty treats. Can we make this a regular thing?"

Stefan blinked, speechless. Even Calvin had no words.

Bag full of food, victorious, I headed back to the dorm. For the first time in a long while, my future—and my stomach—felt bright, delicious, and unexpectedly promising.
