Chapter 3 - The Live Broadcast

Time seemed to fly by quickly towards the commencement of the show.

After receiving the notice, Sofia quickly got her belongings and set off, accompanied by Jane.

On their way to the location, Jane couldn't stop reminding her, "Despite your plans to retire from the industry, you still need to maintain your interpersonal relationships to a certain extent.

Never cut yourself off from others or get isolated by them, understand?"

Sofia gave a vague nod, with her frog-eye mask adding to the comical effect.

Jane, her manager, was definitely a woman, but why did her nagging feel motherly to her?

Sofia thought that she might be quite unfortunate when it came to parental bonds.

In reality, her parents were divorced and they didn't want her, so she had to grow up alone.

In this world, it was even worse.

Her biological parents were deceased, and while her foster parents did have a bit of affection for her, it was insignificant.

When Mr. and Mrs. Cheng were happy, they might treat their foster daughter kindly.

But when unhappy, they wouldn't care about her.

Whenever she had a tantrum, their solution was always to throw money at the problem.

So, the original heroine was very twisted.

Without experiencing true parental love, she felt terror when the true heiress appeared, as she witnessed the transformation in her parents.

"I heard Sofia is participating in this reality show.

Should she be crying somewhere instead of daring to appear on TV?"

"Comment above, you're being narrow-minded.

She's no longer the young Madam of the Cheng family, so she certainly has to work and earn money.

If she doesn't work on her popularity, who will remember her when the hype dies?"

The destination for all the guests was the airport waiting room.

Live broadcasting had already started, and everyone was wondering who would be the first to arrive.

The chatter inside the live-stream was chaotic, with most of it aimed at mocking Sofia.

In reality, Sofia hadn't done anything egregiously wrong.

However, concerning the real and fake heiress, many people would take side, even without knowing the truth.

When she arrived, Sofia wondered if she had made a wrong decision.

Weren't they supposed to be there by eight?

Why was there no one around?

She opened the door to check if anyone was inside, and found no one, she closed it and opened it again with a bemused expression on her face.

"Ha-ha!

Did she think she opened the door wrongly?

She even re-opened it again!"

[How come she only brought a suitcase? Typically, don't stars have to carry a few suitcases when they travel?]

[She's definitely pretending to be calm.

This pigeon occupies the magpie's nest, she is a fake heiress, she doesn't know what shame is!]

Sofia is oblivious to these comments in the live chat room.

She was just wondering why there is no one here yet.

"Didn't they say to come at eight o'clock?

Could it be that I arrived late and everyone already left?"

That shouldn't be the case.

The directorial team is still here, so it couldn't be that she arrived late.

"You are the first guest to arrive," The production team reluctantly spoke up upon seeing Sofia pushing her suitcase, ready to leave.

How can this girl be so fierce?

Just leaving without a word, doesn't she see that the production team is still here?

Turns out she's the first to arrive, then she can rest assured.

Looking at the empty room, Sofia suddenly pulled out a blanket from the inner pocket of her suitcase and comfortably sat down.

Production team:... "I think your arrangement is a bit lacking, there should be a few more stools.

Why are you making the first person who arrive sit on the ground."

This arrangement was indeed unreasonable.

Sofia, from seemingly nowhere, got some chewing gum, sat on the blanket, crossed her legs, and started to peel off the chewing gum.

[Why do I feel like she came here for a vacation?

Wasn't there a rumor that she got expelled from the Cheng family in utter despair, doesn't look like it now.]

[She must be pretending, what else could it be?]

Sofia didn't care about other's opinions.

After finishing a handful of chewing gum and noticing that no one else has arrived, she pulled out a pillow from her suitcase.

Director Group:... Live Room Audience:... "Director, should we remind her to at least introduce herself?

Isn't every artist who participates in a Reality show hoping to have more screen time and more attention?"

The staff member encountered such an artist for the first time.

she came in without doing anything at all, even bringing a blanket, chewing gum, and pillow as if she had really come to sleep.

The director bellowed into a megaphone, "Please, guest, introduce yourself."

Sofia, bewildered, lifted her head, "Do I have to introduce myself?"

[She is acting like a big shot, thinking everyone knows her.]

[Growing up in a rich family does not mask the poverty-stricken aura at all.

She's utterly disrespectful.

No wonder I always feel she has a smug sense of a mouse triumph.

Turns out she's not a rich heiress.]

[Miss, aren't you being a little too excessive?

So by your reasoning, if someone doesn't have money at home, they're poor and pitiful?]

[Why's everyone fighting already?

She didn't say much, right? It's probably because she's new to the process.

Why's it being twisted into a discussion about her background?]

Seeing these comments in the live room, the crew told the director, who didn't expect a single sentence to stir up such a fuss in the broadcast.

She has started introducing herself now, "Hello everyone, my name is Sofia Cheng, I am an Upcoming star and also the protagonist of a recent widely debated event online."

Her frank introduction seems to have won over quite a few people.

[Who said Sofia has a big temper and is hard to get along with?

Isn't she doing great now?]

[You're praising her even before it starts.

Are you hired to hype her up?

Hired by some vanity show-off!]

Many people on the internet are saying Sofia is just a pheasant and even if she were to fly to the top of a tree, she would never become a phoenix.

This statement feels quite harsh and even a bit insulting.

Having finished the introduction, Sofia immediately put on her blindfold, unzipped her pillow, and turned it into a blanket.

Before long, a faint snoring sound could be heard.

She was probably uncomfortable as her neck looked twisted.

Everyone:….Excuse me, miss, your sleep quality is just too good, isn't it!

Everyone just watched her sleep, and helplessly watched as she slid off her chair and lay flat on the ground.

Despite all this, she still didn't wake up.

Maybe she felt cold, so she covered herself from head to toe with the blanket and slept very straight.

To those who didn't know, it looked as if there was a corpse lying there.

[Somehow, I suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable, how can she sleep like this?]

[I suddenly feel like I'm watching a Morgue broadcast.

My mom came over and asked me why I was looking at a corpse, and I didn't even know how to answer her.]

[Hahahaha, the comment above is going to make me die laughing.

Watching a corpse… well, she does look like one.]
