Chapter 20 - I found a way to earn money

Calvin didn't understand what she was planning to do, was she here to have some tea?

But they had no money at the moment.

"Sofia, do you want to have some tea here?" Sofia simply shook her head.

She did not come here to drink tea, but to perform.

Glancing at the guitar in the hand of an old man inside the shop, Sofia smiled, "I've found a way to earn money."

"Do you need me to do anything?"

Calvin believed that he was quite skilled in many crafts.

He could brew tea in a teahouse, after all, his grandfather and father also enjoyed drinking tea at home.

"No need, no need.

You don't have to do anything, just obediently listen to what I say.

Don't worry, I will never let you starve," spoke Sofia with particular confidence.

However, watching her confident demeanor, Calvin couldn't help but feel slightly uncertain.

Five minutes later, Sofia began to play the guitar with an outpouring of emotion, while Calvin crouched in front of her, holding a bowl and observing the passersby.

Calvin: ...Should I go brew tea instead? Looking at Sofia, engrossed in her own music, Calvin hesitantly spoke, "I think you can manage on your own here.

There's no need for me to hold the bowl.

I could go to the tea house and earn money by brewing tea.

Two people earning money is better than one."

Sofia looked at him, speaking quite earnestly, "The job of holding the bowl is quite important.

The wind is strong here, what would happen if the money gets blown away?

I know you feel somewhat uncomfortable, but think about it, isn't your face covered?

Nobody knows who you are."

Although she said this, Calvin still felt uncomfortable.

"Look at it this way, pretend you are acting, playing a role."

Calvin sighed deeply, he could only accept this.

Consider it gaining experience for a role, after all, he had experienced many jobs in the past while preparing for a role.

Suddenly, a ten-dollar bill was tossed into the bowl.

Calvin: !!! I can totally do this job!

[Although I can't see Calvin's facial expression, I can feel the helplessness he might be experiencing right now.

Sofia is quite a talent, and probably the only one who can manage to sell art while dragging Calvin along.]

[Honestly, it feels like Sofia is performing, and Calvin gives off a vibe of begging.

The sight of him squatting there, guarding a bowl, is downright hilarious.]

[Begging? No, it's all about gaining experience!]

The ones who gave the money were a couple who genuinely appreciated the sound of Sofia's voice.

"May we request a specific piece?"

the girl inquired, her eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at Sofia.

"Absolutely, which song would you like to request?"

Sofia replied gently, even though her voice was tender and soft.

"I would like to request the song 'Confession' as a gift for my boyfriend," the girl said shyly and glanced at the boy beside her.

The boy was gazing at her with adoration, and their relationship seemed to be going well.

Using the guitar to perform 'Confession' - are they trying to break up?

Calvin's face, though hidden, was alarmingly complicated.

He looked at Sofia, eager to know if she would accept the task.

"Sure thing!

I promise you'll be satisfied!"

A confession through her mic piece?

No big deal!

Sofia tested the tune once and then started playing.

She even altered the melody slightly to suit the guitar's playing style, making it sound more upbeat and romantic.

"If you stick to the original tune, it wouldn't be 'Confession' but 'Farewell.'

When the sound of the guitar flowed out, Calvin finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He was glad that it wasn't a disaster.

When the tune ended, the circle was filled with people, and the young couple was particularly satisfied.

"Your performance was great.

Normally, the sound of the guitar carries a sense of sadness, but what you played just now feels especially romantic."

"Thanks for the compliment," Sofia's eyes smiled in a crescent shape.

Although her face was not clear, people could see her happiness.

After the opening, more and more people started requesting songs.

Seeing the increasing amount of money in the bowl, Calvin was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed.

"Everyone please form a line, and avoid crowding."

Calvin was reluctantly forced to stand up and maintain order.

He was tall and exerted an imposing presence when he stood up.

"You two seem to have a good relationship as a couple.

Your husband is quite tall, maybe around 1.9 meters."

Sofia and Calvin looked at each other when they heard this, a little embarrassed.

This was not easy to explain, and there was no use in explaining since no one knew them.

"Wow, they just accepted the presumption!

Fans of this pair, let's get up and dance!"

"Now that you have mentioned it, they indeed feel like a couple.

Sofia is raising a handsome husband."

The fans of Calvin have also gradually accepted the idea.

Whether they accept it or not, Calvin and Sofia do have a good relationship.

They were not the crazily obsessed kind of fans.

Many of them were Calvin's film fans, what they liked was Calvin's acting skills.

Except for a few rather crazed fans, the majority of fans are still very rational.

"I'm actually quite grateful to Sofia.

Although Calvin was kept out of sight from beginning to end, she allowed us to see a different side of Calvin."

"Right, if it weren't for Sofia, I guess Calvin would be out making money by brewing tea for others.

Now it's so much better, he doesn't need to lift a finger, just sit tight and move his lips."

"Are you guys really fans of Calvin?

Are you sure you're not haters?"

Calvin's agent, staring at Calvin who's quietly losing money over a bowl, heaves a quiet sigh.

"Oh well, whatever he likes.

Luckily, his online reviews aren't that bad".

Many people now feel he is more down-to-earth.

Previously, many people felt that he was too aloof and detached from worldly matters, which isn't good either as he couldn't take on certain roles due to this enforced personality, the restrictions on an actor are indeed vast.

In two hours, the two of them earned three hundred and sixty-eight dollars.

They paid one hundred to the elderly man who had borrowed the guitar as a rental fee, leaving them with two hundred and sixty-eight.

Looking at the scattered money in his hands, Calvin was somewhat dazed, "We just made over two hundred!"

Sofia took into account the local cost of living, two hundred dollars is already enough for their dinner.

Even if the others didn't make any money, this was enough for them.

"Indeed, it's necessary to have some skills," Sofia felt very fortunate that she knew how to do something, otherwise she would really be doing hard labor.

They were the first two to gather at the entrance of the village, of course, it was the staff who took them there.

Their style was completely different from the other two groups.

As soon as they stepped outside, both of them would look at the camera and then a staff member would come over to guide them.
