Chapter 158 - Antidote in Hand, Full-Scale Offensive

In the rescue camp beneath the defense line, Coulson offered Zhou Yi and his new assistant the best coffee he had. He showed Zhou Yi his utmost enthusiasm. However, he showed his new assistant, a twelve-point level of wariness.

"Miss Wong, forgive my presumption. May I ask who you worked for previously?"

"I usually only work for myself, Mr. Coulson. You know, a commercial spy is not like you people, with a stable income stream," Ada Wong replied with a light laugh. Having been hired by Zhou Yi, she didn't care about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s probing. A reliable backer allowed her to ignore many things, most importantly, the methods of these official organizations.

"Does she know your identity?" Coulson shrugged and turned to Zhou Yi.

"It's not time to say anything yet; she'll know later," Zhou Yi twitched the corner of his mouth, meeting Coulson's gaze with a strange smile.

Seeing this smile, Ada Wong instinctively sensed something was amiss. She glanced at Natasha, who was still holding the child on the side, and saw a look of pity in her eyes.

Being a superhero's assistant was not a fun job; the enemies he faced were often terrifying. Terrifying to the point where even people like them would be afraid. Thus, Ada Wong's future work was destined to be filled with anxiety.

Of course, Natasha wouldn't be so kind as to tell her. She still clearly remembered the two shots from the sniper rifle. As a petty woman, she wouldn't say a word until she had settled the score.

Zhou Yi and Coulson were chatting about the situation in the camp, but in reality, they were concerned about other issues. Natasha was the same; her eyes couldn't help but look towards the entrance of the tent. It was as if she were waiting for someone to come in.

Only Ada Wong was indifferent to this. She sat there with her arms crossed and her eyes closed, as if still pondering the meaning of that smile.

The atmosphere was a bit strange until someone lifted the tent flap and walked in. When he walked in, both Zhou Yi and Coulson stared at him, or rather, at the small vial in his hand.

"Did it work?" Coulson stood up anxiously.

"Yes, sir." The man who walked in placed the vial on the table. "The data is very complete, and we deduced the formula for the antidote based on the data. And after experiments, it has been confirmed to be effective against the virus. As long as they haven't been completely infected by the virus, this antidote will work."

"It's good that it works, it's good that it works!" Coulson rubbed his hands and stood up. "What about production efficiency? Besides saving people, can we ensure that every one of our soldiers has a dose!"

"We're very well prepared. Give me two hours, and I guarantee the task will be completed!"

"Then I'll give you two hours. After two hours, all the planes and special forces will depart to rescue those citizens still trapped inside the shelter. I want you to give everyone the antidote, understand?"

"Understood, sir. The serums will be on the plane in two hours, on time!" The researcher assured him confidently.

"Get to it!" With that one sentence, Coulson dismissed the researcher and finally sat down, letting out a sigh of relief. "Umbrella won't have a chance to recover this time. Looks like we can pop the champagne early."

"The rest is up to you guys. I'll just wait for your final strike."

At this point, Zhou Yi lazily stretched. He'd been busy with this place for a while, and now he could finally hand this problem completely over to S.H.I.E.L.D.

He only needed to sit here and wait for S.H.I.E.L.D. to eliminate Umbrella's top brass, then make public everything Umbrella had done.

With a whole city as witnesses, Umbrella wouldn't stand a chance. Their stock would plummet, and that would be the moment his hoarded funds would come into play.

Ada Wong smiled, her eyes squinting. She already knew the reason her boss was here. The moment nearly a hundred billion in funds was mentioned, she was completely won over. Anyone would smile at the thought of being a subordinate to such a wealthy boss, especially a close one.

This was a banquet only a great capitalist could reap the rewards of, and Zhou Yi was the only one who could enter it on time. So, not to mention others, even Coulson, as a friend, was a little envious.

"Are you really planning to fully acquire Umbrella?" Coulson pulled up a chair and sat next to Zhou Yi, a fawning smile plastered on his face.

"Phil, your expression is disgusting." Zhou Yi glanced at Coulson and shifted away, trying to put some distance between himself and the man. "What, do you think I'm just hoarding all this money for fun, not taking advantage of the profits? Or is S.H.I.E.L.D. even getting involved in normal stock transactions now?"

"We're just an intelligence agency; we don't get involved in these kinds of capital transactions. Actually, what I wanted to ask was, do you need any more funds? I might be able to offer some."

This time, not only Zhou Yi, but even Natasha looked at him with a strange expression. Who would have thought that a man known for being such a nice guy would have this kind of idea? What do you mean, need funds? The guy had a hundred billion just sitting there; how could he possibly need funds? Even if he did, it wouldn't be something a civil servant like him could cover. At the very least, it would need to be someone like Tony Stark, who had real money.

"What, you want to make a profit too?" However, Zhou Yi understood Coulson's thoughts. Since he couldn't stop Zhou Yi's actions, he might as well ride the coattails and make a profit. They were people too, and they needed to live. Naturally, they would yearn for money. In short, it was a fool who wouldn't try to make money.

"You know, I'm just a poor man living on a salary. So, sometimes, to pay off my loans, I have to think of ways to make some extra money."

Coulson wasn't a fool, and neither was Natasha. Her eyes flickered, and she coughed twice in agreement.

"I can help you out too, although not much. But it's still a little something."

They weren't stupid; they naturally understood that following the big players was the best way to maximize their profits from buying low and selling high. The key to following the big players was getting firsthand information. Therefore, both of them fixed their eyes on Zhou Yi, waiting to see how this big player would respond.

"Alright, alright. I'll give you a heads-up when it's time to bottom-fish. But no matter how much you buy, I'll be the one to eat it up in the end. This is the cornerstone of building my business empire, and I don't want any bricks in it to belong to someone else."

Saying this, he looked at the eager Ada Wong, making his intentions clear.

"You too, understand?"

"Don't worry, boss. I'm not someone who can't see the big picture." Ada Wong saluted charmingly, assuring him, and looking quite serious. However, she was already calculating in her mind how much savings she could use.

This was a chance for everyone to get rich, and Zhou Yi wouldn't and had no reason to stop them. Interest was often the best thing to unite the forces around them. If the loss wasn't significant, Zhou Yi wouldn't care too much about these small things.

While these people were still discussing the future of the stock market, Raccoon City had already turned upside down.

One after another, very advanced-looking aircraft appeared in Raccoon City, delighting the survivors in the shelters and sinking the hearts of Umbrella's people.

These mysterious aircraft not only ignored any inquiries from Umbrella, but also launched a fierce attack on Umbrella and all the zombies the moment they appeared. The fierce offensive, like a raging fire, forced Umbrella to retreat, while also causing the zombie horde rampaging through the city to rapidly shrink.

And while they were attacking, large numbers of transport helicopters flew into the city. They purposefully hovered over certain buildings, loading survivors into the aircraft and flying them out of the city.

This scene was witnessed by many, and those who saw it knew that Umbrella's doom was coming. However, among those people, Raymond was not one of them.

At this moment, he was still carrying out his little plan, wanting to capture Jill Valentine, thereby threatening Zhou Yi to hand over everything he had regarding the super soldier plan.

But he didn't expect that such a seemingly simple problem would be so difficult to implement. He had finally discovered Jill's location, but he didn't expect his proud Hunter to be repeatedly frustrated.

Jill was like a slippery eel, constantly escaping from the Hunter's grasp, even causing it a lot of damage. And when they finally managed to corner her with the Hunter, a variable once again disrupted their plan.

The apple that rolled onto the chessboard was a giant black panther. Its body, as large as a bull, made Raymond have no doubt that it was a bio-virus modification.

But compared to those mindless, only knowing how to eat, zombie monsters, this giant black panther not only retained its own nature, but also seemed to be free of any bio-infection.

Even its behavior was very strange. When Jill was forced into a desperate situation and severely injured by the Hunter, this huge black panther suddenly appeared and launched a fierce attack on the Hunter.

This shouldn't have happened according to Raymond and his team. The Hunter was a high-level T-Virus modified creature. In the world of the virus, those lower-level infected creatures would naturally fear higher-level beings. Any infected creature would keep its distance from the Hunter, let alone launch an attack.

But now, an exception had appeared. The black panther not only didn't fear the Hunter, but even fought with it on equal footing, with impressive moves. Judging by the looks of it, it was unlikely the Hunter would complete its mission without using its weapons.

Raymond had originally been patient, wanting to see what this suddenly appearing beast could do. But when his subordinates reported the current situation in Raccoon City to him, he could no longer sit still.

Umbrella's big ship was going down, that was his only thought now.
