The final, cherished rituals of the Hindu wedding awaited Hazon and Seya upon their return. Their families;Ariana, Kian, Hazon's mother, and Seya's father;gathered at the couple's new home, ready to welcome them and perform the Vidaai and Griha Pravesh ceremonies.
The path to the front door was beautifully adorned with flowers and rangoli. Following tradition, Seya, as the new bride, first knocked over a small pot of rice placed at the threshold with her right foot, symbolically bringing prosperity into her new home. She then stepped into a tray of red vermilion, imprinting her feet on the clean floor as she crossed into the house, her right foot leading the way, guided by Hazon's hand. 🤝
Once inside, the final, playful ritual to determine the "head of the household" began. The couple sat on either side of a large brass bowl filled with milk and rose petals, in which a ring had been hidden. They were to plunge their right hands in and find it. Hazon's fingers found the ring first, but instead of claiming victory, he subtly slipped it into Seya's waiting palm. She pulled her hand out, triumphantly holding the ring aloft to the cheers of their family. 🥛
As Seya was formally declared the (ghar ki rani)—"the queen of the house"she and Hazon shared a secret, knowing smile. The title was a formality; they had already decided their home would be a partnership of equals. With this joyful conclusion, the beautiful tapestry of their wedding, woven from countless sacred threads, was finally and completely complete. 👸
