Chapter 8 - Beautiful School...

The school operates 24 hours a day, with a shift of 3 employees in the administration, so I know I can take the test at any time. The biggest problem will be getting past the security guard.

I'll really have to convince him, although I don't think it will be that difficult since I'm young, pretty, and clearly won't say much beyond the fact that I want to go take the test in the administration.

Although this will clearly irritate some professor who will have to obligatorily supervise the entire process, I get the simple white dress that the demon made appear.

My body trembles a bit because I'm naked on the roof of a building at night, well I'm not 100% naked since I'm still wearing my panties, but it's not like they provide much protection.

I even had the bra, but I decided to take it off along with the clothes because the white dress would look strange with the bra, which is practically a rigid armor.

"What do you think, demon?" I ask the black cat watching me. The white dress turned out nice on me, the simplicity of the outfit highlights my natural beauty.

"I think you're cute, which doesn't match a sociopathic sister-obsessed," the cat speaks sarcastically, while I think about whether I can grab him and throw him off the building.

I give up on that and jump off the building, descending carefully between the walls. After chasing my sister for so long, I've gotten a little better at this, although it's still complicated not to slip.

Arriving at an alley, I quickly go to the school entrance, which is magnificent. From here I can already see the well-maintained entrance and the school walls. This school has everything.

The Main Building is a central and vertical structure, with multiple floors. It houses classrooms, internal auditoriums, general laboratories, and administrative offices.

It also serves as the academic and organizational core of the institution.

It has sports courts and open and covered facilities for sports practice. These include a multi-sport court, a smaller soccer field, a peripheral running track, tatami mats, and areas for functional physical training.

A Garden and Green Area with a fountain, a tree-lined space with benches, shades, and a small central fountain. Designed for relaxation, reading, and emotional balance of students and staff.

Internal Parking is divided into sectors, official vehicles, employees, visitors, and loading areas. It has monitored access and covered spaces near the administrative entrances.

Separate Administrative Buildings in blocks for the management, pedagogical coordination, legal, secretariat, and strategic meeting rooms. Integrated into the internal communications and data system.

Dormitories and accommodations divided by gender and function for students and staff, with monitoring done by guards. Each block has communal and private bathroom areas, as well as controlled access.

The gates are separated into independent entrances for students, service vehicles, and emergencies. Each one is equipped with armed security, digital identification, and automated screening.

There is a main auditorium with a spacious and modern space for events, lectures, ceremonies, and presentations. Equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and retractable seating.

There is also an IT room and servers in a climate-controlled environment with data servers, internal networks, cloud backup, and its own firewall. Managed by a specialized technical team.

A technical and maintenance area next to workshops for repairs, equipment rooms, and parts storage. Used by the maintenance and structural support team of the institution.

Of course, a storage/supply room could not be missing, which is a reserved space for the storage and organization of teaching materials, uniforms, electronics, and supplies for internal use.

Followed by the psychological assessment center, which is a facility focused on emotional monitoring, administration of psychological tests, and interviews with students.

Next to it is the central library, a quiet environment with physical, digital, and restricted collections. It provides individual study rooms, multimedia areas, and access terminals for digital documents and books.

There are multiple cafeterias and snack bars with varied menus, with areas divided between students and technical staff.

A good infirmary and medical unit with a first aid installation and basic care, with an isolation room, a clinic, nursing, and an on-call ambulance.

A monitoring and surveillance room with an operational security center, which has real-time monitors, access logs, and direct communication with all school units.

Specific laboratories in a separate block equipped for studies in biology, chemistry, physics, robotics, and applied engineering. Some sectors require special access authorization.

And there is much more, as this school occupies about 5 to 6 city blocks. Basically, you can live there, although many things are limited, and security is sometimes overly regulated in some points and deliberately neglected in others.

Of course, for some, this school is like a place to create "perfect humans," separating smart students from people with less mental capacity.

It's like a big experiment to control how the human mind evolves in a space that delivers the best of everything. There's even a theory that the paranormal and occult research clubs are about this being a government military installation.

In the event of a world war, they would use this place as an operations base. Obviously, none of this has been confirmed, so in the end, it's just a ridiculously well-equipped school.

Everything the government said about the school is that it is designed to increase the general population's IQ, which I must say has made many mistakes, so much so that several countries no longer exist and have become new countries.

This current country where I was born, was previously called Japan, but it no longer exists due to the foolishness of various people, and other countries have had similar fates.

It's a shame, but I guess it doesn't matter. In the end, what they did in the past is not my problem. If they messed up their own country, it's completely irrelevant to me and my goal of protecting my sister.

I guess you could say that about 70% of all the countries in the world have completely ended up and become other countries. It's truly a tragic thing we learn about in history books.

Leaving the topic aside, I'm going to the visitor's entrance, as I can't enter through the student entrance without an identification that the digital reader recognizes as a student of the school.

Arriving at the control post, I touch an intercom, waiting to be answered.

"Good evening, my name is Eliot, how can I help you?" A male voice speaks through the intercom, with a polite and formal tone that I easily recognize from my past life.

Eliot is the gate guard. He has a strong build, brown hair, and black eyes, although he always seems tired. He's a nice guy who likes to talk about his beloved daughter and incredibly, is afraid of thunderstorms, even though he's a security guard.

'Okay, I got lucky. The one at the visitor control post is just Eliot.' The worst thing about Eliot is that he talks too much about his daughter, but other than that, he's manageable.

"Good evening, I've come here to qualify for the test to enroll. Before you ask, yes, I know that taking this test and passing it to become a student requires a 100% performance."

"..." He is silent for a moment. I can't see him from here, as he's on the other side of the large reinforced steel gate. He seems to ponder for a moment.

"Swipe your ID on the machine to the right and put your face in front of the screen." I go to the machine next to the intercom.

'...ID' I have an ID in my pocket. Even if I didn't have anything before, it seems the demon did a surprisingly good job. I place the ID in the ID reader and put my face in front of the camera.

"Okay... Miss Setsuna Shū, according to what I can verify here, you are 18 years old and have an exemplary academic record... what an impeccable transcript in terms of grades," he murmurs the last part with surprise. I don't know what he's seeing, but it must be very good.

"Alright, wait a moment and I'll release your entry and guide you to the specialized room to take the test..." He starts doing something on the computer while I put my ID back in my clothes.

Soon the large gate opens with a loud metallic creak. This door has an impressive thickness for something used in a school. I don't know how much the government invested here, but it must be billions.

I enter and see Eliot coming out of the control point to guide me, while a second guard takes his place and a third guard takes the place of the other.

Everything is extremely organized to ensure the safety of everyone. And even though it hasn't been noticed or mentioned, that large gate has an AI-controlled X-ray machine that alerts if I enter with something dangerous.

Of course, the alert doesn't sound for everyone to hear. If I had something the machine considered dangerous, like a weapon, the guards would receive a warning, and I would be "deceived" and taken to a room to be arrested and interrogated about why I had it.

If it wasn't anything major, I would be released, but if it was discovered that it was for malicious use, I could go to prison.

Incredibly, even with this impressive security on the outside, they don't care much about the students. In fact, they encourage competition, ignore bullying unless it's with someone important.

And they don't allow cameras in several locations that need them, precisely to avoid there being evidence that students are suffering bullying and they don't care. So if someone becomes a target, that person can only endure in silence.

I've seen this happen before, I just didn't get involved since I had no reason to. And I even took advantage of this "loophole" purposefully created to keep away students who tried to make my sister a target.

So as long as you don't bully near a guard or in front of a camera, no one cares. It's really ironic that something as grandiose as this school is so corrupt.

Everyone knows, but no one says anything. It's obvious this school is like this because the idiot son of the country's president is a student here, and the school was built by his father, so the school was "adjusted" for some special needs of this moron.

Of course, our president is an incredible man who has done wonderful things, being a much-loved president who has improved the population's lives, but he is a father who pampers his son too much.

"Miss Setsuna, aren't you curious?" Eliot asks me as we walk.

"About what?"

"Well... you don't look at the school with surprise or admiration like many students... oh, I'm sorry."

"I saw in your file that you have a mental problem... I briefly forgot it's just that my daughter seemed so excited when she entered this school, and you remind me of her."

"...It's okay... it's nothing serious... I just have difficulty feeling things..."

'Fucking cat.' That manipulative demon put my mental problem on my file. No one needed to know that I have Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), but that bastard put it on my file.

"..." The atmosphere becomes strange as we continue in silence. I need to throw that demon off a building later. He always pulls these stunts. I didn't want them to know I had this for a reason.

Now I will have to obligatorily visit the school psychologist, even though it's not a serious problem. I will still have to see that woman who looked at me strangely in my past life as if she hated me.

And I know the reason, and it's not pleasant for my current self.
