Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Why Are There Wild Gods of Destruction on Earth?!

In West City, behind the Briefs estate, the gravity chamber was humming like it was about to give out under the strain of a fierce spar.

Inside, Goku wore a serious expression. A white aura wrapped around his body as his fists shot out like a storm from every tricky angle, all aimed at Vitreli, who stood there looking relaxed.

"Ah—tata-tata-tata! Hah!!!"

Every strike Goku threw was fast and sharp, his voice low as he kept up a breathy rhythm, hands never stopping, chaining one attack into the next.

But Vitreli only ever tilted his head, shifted his shoulders, or raised a hand the bare minimum. Each time, he neutralized the blow effortlessly.

His feet never once left the small circle drawn on the floor. From the start of the match to now, he hadn't moved an inch.

It looked like a blazing fight, but both of them were subconsciously keeping the impact sounds down.

They had to hide this from Bulma.

Just thinking about last year's "accident" made both of them break into a cold sweat.

Back then, they'd gotten carried away and "clashed beams" a little in the gravity chamber. The stray energy had triggered a small earthquake that rippled across all of West City.

No one got hurt, but the panic among civilians—and the fact the Briefs family had almost been injured—had lit Bulma's fuse in a rare, terrifying way.

Vitreli had nearly crawled on his knees to placate her. Apologies, promises, the whole nine yards. The only reason her rage cooled down before she detonated his skull was because Whis happened to get summoned by Vitreli at the time, which distracted her.

Ever since then, Vitreli had been extra cautious whenever he was active on Earth. Even training, he'd instinctively avoid Bulma's radar.

So today's "battle" was really more like Vitreli giving Goku a private lesson.

Goku fired a brutal straight punch at Vitreli's face. Vitreli's hand moved after Goku's—yet arrived first—lightly slapping Goku's wrist away.

In the same motion, Vitreli curled his fingers and flicked Goku on the forehead.

Nice head you've got there!

"Gah—owowow!!"

Goku clutched his instantly reddening forehead and crouched down, hissing through his teeth.

"Vitreli, you're seriously strong! I can't even touch you at all right now!"

Vitreli drew in his aura and smirked, teasing calmly.

"What, Goku, you can't handle that? I barely used any strength. You're already crying about it?"

Goku lifted his head, eyes blazing with stubborn fire.

He sprang up in one motion, grinning with confidence.

"Just watch me, Vitreli! I wasn't even using my full power yet!"

Even as he said it, he knew deep down that going all out probably wouldn't change much.

Vitreli chuckled, crooked a finger, and spoke in a low voice.

"Come on. Keep it quiet. Let me see what your 'full power' looks like."

Goku drew a breath, fists clenched at his waist, every muscle tightening.

"Hah!!!!!!!"

With a roar like a mountain cracking, a wild golden aura burst out of him.

The chamber's air seemed to ignite, snapping and crackling. The energy was so intense the whole room trembled faintly.

A few seconds later, Goku finished transforming. His aura blazed gold, his presence surging far beyond before.

He smiled confidently and set his stance.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Vitreli! Round two!"

Vitreli stared at him, lips drooping in mock misery. "You're the one explaining this to Bulma later. And besides…"

"Is that it? I can do that too."

Before the words even settled, Vitreli's gaze sharpened.

A deeper, denser golden aura—like it carried raw destruction inside—flared around him.

His hair rose and turned brilliant gold, his eyes a vivid green. He looked at Goku with a faintly mischievous glint.

"Y-you can turn Super Saiyan too?!" Goku gaped, all his confidence evaporating into disbelief.

Then he pouted immediately.

"You never told me you could do that! Vitreli, that's sneaky!"

Seeing the giant I'm unhappy! plastered across Goku's face, Vitreli waved a hand, amused.

"You never asked. It's a small thing, not worth bringing up. But I'll tell you clearly—I've got more transformations than just Super Saiyan 1."

He reset his stance, smiling at Goku, who was still processing the hint.

"Now come on. Don't get distracted. Attack me with everything you've got. Let me see how much you've grown as a Super Saiyan!"

Goku immediately focused. The look in his eyes turned rock-solid.

His figure blurred and vanished. When he reappeared, he was right in front of Vitreli, driving a heavy, no-nonsense punch straight into Vitreli's chest.

Vitreli didn't dodge. His right hand moved after Goku's but caught his wrist precisely, then redirected and tossed him away.

Goku felt an irresistible force seize him, hurling him backward.

He smashed into the gravity chamber's alloy wall with a dull boom, leaving a huge crater.

He roared and vanished again, flashing behind Vitreli with a whipping roundhouse aimed at Vitreli's jaw.

Vitreli didn't even turn.

He casually lifted his left arm backward.

Clack.

Goku's kick was stopped cold, and Vitreli's palm closed around Goku's ankle. The impact didn't move Vitreli's arm even a hair.

"Speed's decent," Vitreli commented evenly. "Strength's still lacking."

With a flip of his wrist, he tossed Goku again.

This time Goku spun in midair and landed cleanly.

No frustration on his face—only admiration.

"So awesome! Vitreli, you really haven't moved your feet even once!"

"Hah, you're not bad either," Vitreli said, returning the praise. "You mastered Super Saiyan this quickly. That fight with Vegeta really did you some good…"

He hadn't even finished when Goku rushed in again.

This time his attacks were sharper. His movement was faster, his punches heavier.

A flicker of approval passed through Vitreli's eyes. He finally stopped only blocking and started throwing punches back.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Now it was a real fight.

Every collision of fists and legs detonated a deep thud and visible shockwaves.

Super Saiyan-level power grinding against itself was on another tier entirely. The violent aftershocks slammed into every corner of the chamber.

The control panel's warning lights went berserk. Tiny sparks danced across it.

The special alloy walls that could withstand extreme gravity began to creak with a teeth-grinding "gaaaah," actually twisting and warping.

Vitreli noticed and his expression snapped.

He instantly drew in his aura. His golden hair and green eyes faded back to normal as he dropped out of Super Saiyan.

"Huh? We're stopping?" Goku paused mid-attack, aura still blazing. "We just started!"

Vitreli shook his head and pointed at the warped walls and flickering sparks.

"We can't keep going. Look around. Another minute and we'll tear this place apart. Once the noise gets too big, Bulma'll notice. You wanna relive yesterday's 'errand duty'?"

That single line pulled up Goku's trauma.

Yesterday Bulma had sent him to the northern industrial zone to haul massive, delicate core parts off a production line one by one, assemble them, capsule them, and then fill out a mountain of forms he couldn't even read…

It had been so boring and exhausting it felt worse than fighting Vegeta all day.

Goku shuddered. His golden aura poofed out and he dropped back to normal.

"Nope! Absolutely not!"

Vitreli laughed at his expression.

He walked over to the most badly warped wall to see if he could fix it.

He pressed a hand to it. The wall groaned under the strain.

He sighed and gave up.

Bulma can deal with this.

Turning back to Goku, he said bluntly:

"You're still too weak."

"With just you alone, you can't even make me move my feet. When Vegeta shows up later, we'll continue somewhere wide and empty—North Pole ice fields, or that desert wasteland you fought him in."

Then he stared at Goku with a knowing grin.

"But for now… I'm going to teach you something new. Wanna learn?"

Goku's eyes lit up instantly. He rushed closer, nodding like crazy.

"Yeah yeah! What is it? Is it a way to get stronger? Vitreli, you're such a good guy!"

Vitreli was caught between laughing and groaning. He smacked Goku on the head.

"Quit buttering me up. This might be too early for where you're at. Whether you can grasp it depends on you."

Goku scratched his head innocently.

"I wasn't patting a horse's butt. What does 'buttering up' mean? What's that got to do with getting stronger?"

Vitreli stared blankly.

"…Forget it. Stop talking. Focus. Go Super Saiyan again and hold it, then do what I say."

Goku didn't understand, but his hunger for strength made him obey without hesitation.

"Hah!"

Gold aura flared again.

Vitreli's voice turned calm and precise.

"Feel your ki. Don't chase explosion and brute power. Control it—not to burn hotter, but to breathe steady. Let it flow naturally through your body… yes, like that. Take it slow. Get used to treating this high-energy state as your normal…"

He was guiding Goku toward finer control of Super Saiyan power, reducing waste, letting the body adapt—

the road to Full-Power Super Saiyan.

Just as Goku sat cross-legged and followed the instructions, his boiling golden aura beginning to settle and stabilize…

Vitreli's relaxed expression vanished.

He snapped his head up. His sharp gaze seemed to pierce the alloy ceiling and spear into the depths of space.

A sense of being watched flickered into existence—faint and brief, but unmistakable to someone who had reached Ultra Instinct.

"Who was that?!" Vitreli muttered.

His awareness swept the entire Earth and expanded outward into the cosmos.

Goku, startled by the sudden bark, nearly lost control of his aura. He opened his eyes to see Vitreli scanning around, face taut.

"Uh, Vitreli? What's wrong? You hungry again? I'm kinda hungry too…"

Vitreli raised a hand to silence him.

Closing his eyes, he instantly reined in his Saiyan aura.

In its place rose a quiet, law-aligned godly ki, as if he were merging with the universe itself.

He traced the source with divine perception.

A moment later, he opened his eyes, amused.

"Oh? It's that old man King Kai. What's he doing peeking at me for fun?"

Meanwhile, in the afterlife, on a tiny planet connected only to Snake Way—

King Kai adjusted his small sunglasses. His chubby face was full of worry.

Sitting in his antique little car, he watched the North Galaxy with his powers.

He sighed heavily, curling in on himself.

"Frieza's moving too fast! It's only been a week and he's already conquered more than a dozen planets…"

His view passed over those fallen worlds—charred ruins, countless crying souls.

Frieza's army was ruthless. They'd wipe out entire populations, and if resistance was stubborn, Frieza would personally erase the whole planet.

"This is bad…"

King Kai wiped sweat from his forehead.

"The underworld's about to overflow. King Yemma complained yesterday he's so slammed he can't even drink tea. If this keeps up, the order of the dead is going to collapse…"

He struggled for answers.

"Call the Galactic Patrol? No, no, those guys can handle pirates but against Frieza they're just meat. Is there anyone who can stop that monster?"

He let his mind drift backward through North Galaxy's history.

He saw Frieza's birth, Cold giving the Saiyans to baby Frieza as a "gift," Planet Vegeta exploding into cosmic dust, Vegeta and company escaping by the skin of their teeth…

"Huh? This Saiyan prince…"

King Kai noted Vegeta.

"Strong, sure, but his ki is… too evil. Only a little less than Frieza's. Are all Saiyans just battle-and-destroy lunatics?"

Disappointed, he still clung to the ancient legend of the Super Saiyan.

"Is there really no kind-hearted Saiyan?"

He searched on.

He even saw a Saiyan resisting Frieza before the homeworld fell, dying in a hopeless struggle.

He heard that Saiyan's final cry.

"'Kakarot'? Who's that?"

Just when he was about to give up, a faint yet astonishingly pure ki caught his attention.

Completely different from every Saiyan he'd sensed.

His focus followed it to a blue planet—

Earth.

"Strange…"

The past Earth timeline looked blurry, like something powerful was deliberately interfering.

In a flash he thought he saw the outline of a staff.

"Forget it. I'll just look at the present!"

He locked onto Earth now, tracking that pure ki.

The next instant King Kai's eyes bulged, mouth wide enough to fit a lightbulb.

"T-that is—!!!"

On Earth, in some room, two vast golden energies were colliding.

One was savage and wild; the other deeper and more restrained, yet carrying a terrifying divine authority.

And the source of that pure ki—

was a blond, green-eyed youth throwing himself at a stronger opponent without hesitation.

"Su-Super Saiyan?! And there are TWO of them?!!"

He nearly toppled out of his car.

"Oh ho ho! Great! Great!!"

Shock turned to joy and tears.

"So pure, so kind! There really is a good Saiyan! North Galaxy is saved!!"

He leaned in excitedly to watch closer—

never noticing that the deeper golden presence had already sensed him.

Back in the gravity chamber—

Vitreli smiled knowingly.

He tapped Goku's shoulder to rouse him.

"Hey, Goku. Stop for now."

Goku opened his eyes, confused.

"Why? I think I'm starting to get it…"

"I'm taking you somewhere fun. Let's go stir up a little trouble."

Vitreli grinned like he was about to pull a prank.

"Hold on."

"Huh? Fun? Eating?" Goku asked blankly, but grabbed Vitreli's arm anyway.

Vitreli said nothing more.

Instant Transmission.

They vanished from the gravity chamber.

A heartbeat later, they were somewhere completely different.

Fresh air, green grass, distant old-style buildings, massive trees—quiet and peaceful.

"Whoa! Where are we?" Goku looked around, amazed. The air felt strange, like it held energy.

"Supreme Kai World," Vitreli answered simply, then called out,

"Shin! Old Supreme Kai! You guys here?"

His voice echoed across the open heavens.

Not long after, someone rushed out of the distant temple like a whirlwind—

Supreme Kai Shin, face bright with relief.

"Vitreli-san! You finally came!"

He looked ready to cry with joy.

These days Old Supreme Kai had been cramming him with endless Supreme Kai knowledge until he nearly went insane. Vitreli showing up was salvation.

Kibito sprinted after him, panicked.

"Supreme Kai! Slow down! Wait for me!"

But by the time Kibito arrived, Old Supreme Kai was already beside Vitreli, chatting like they were old buddies.

"Oh? You're going to North Kai's place?"

Old Supreme Kai pushed up his tiny glasses.

"No problem. I'll give you the coordinates. But Vitreli, why are you going to him? He doesn't have the guts to mess with you, does he?"

"It's nothing serious," Vitreli said cheerfully. "He was peeking at me earlier. I caught him. I'm just going to ask what's up. Don't worry. I won't bully him."

He already knew North Kai's personality from Beerus and Whis. This trip was mostly curiosity—and a little mischief.

Old Supreme Kai nodded, then shot Shin a death-glare.

"Look at you! What kind of Supreme Kai behavior is that? I tell you to study and the second you hear Vitreli's voice you run faster than a rabbit!"

Shin instantly bowed, like a scolded kid.

"I'm very sorry, Ancestor! I just… thought Vitreli-san might have important business…"

Vitreli found Shin's desperate longing for "outside time" hilarious.

He waved kindly. "Shin, I've got stuff to do now. I'll come play with you next time."

Before Shin could protest, Vitreli grabbed Goku—who was still gaping at Old Supreme Kai and Kibito—

and vanished again.

Shin's hopeful face collapsed.

With Old Supreme Kai's increasingly dangerous stare on him, he trudged back toward the temple, doomed to more endless studying.

In the underworld, at King Yemma's palace—

King Yemma, drowning in paperwork behind a giant desk, suddenly felt something.

Two living ki signatures flashed through the realm with insane speed.

He closed his eyes to confirm, then shuddered and muttered,

"The new candidate God of Destruction… and another ki—Saiyan? They're headed to North Kai…"

He shook his huge head.

"Not my problem. Not my problem… I saw nothing."

He buried himself in documents even faster.

On tiny King Kai's planet—

King Kai had already lost the excitement from earlier and was now in full panic.

Supreme Kai had warned him: a God of Destruction was asking about him because of the peeping incident.

He was pacing like an ant on a hot pan, sweating rivers.

"I'm dead! I'm dead! This is bad, bad, bad!"

His voice trembled with terror.

"Why is there a God of Destruction on a backwater like Earth?! And I peeked at him! AND he noticed!! My planet's gonna shrink again!!"

He paced a few more frantic laps, then froze. A flash of "genius" sparkled in his tiny eyes.

"Right! Hide!"

He clapped his hands.

"Run to South Kai? No, that guy can't shut up. West Kai? His singing's awful but he's loyal…"

Decision made, he spun around to pack a few things, take his pets Bubbles and Gregory, and start an emergency "evacuation."

But the instant he took a step—

two figures appeared on the open ground right in front of him, perfectly blocking his path.

King Kai was so busy thinking he didn't look where he was going, and walked straight into one of them.

It felt like he'd collided with a wall. He toppled backward with a thump and sat on the ground, seeing stars.

Goku, startled, hurriedly grabbed his clothes and lifted him up, setting him on his feet.

"Sorry! Vitreli's just too fast, I didn't see you. Are you okay?"

King Kai went rigid.

He shakily adjusted his crooked sunglasses, stared at the harmless-looking Goku…

Then slowly turned to the other one—

the black-haired young man grinning at him with a teasing gaze.

King Kai swallowed hard, throat dry.

His brain raced.

Play dumb. Stall. Survive.

He cleared his throat twice, straightened his rumpled robe, and forced a dignified posture.

He nodded at Goku to show he was fine, then faced Vitreli with forced calm.

"Ahem… what an honor. I never expected a God of Destruction to visit my tiny little King Kai planet. May I ask what important matter brings you here to see me?"

Vitreli watched him—clearly terrified but pretending he wasn't—and his grin widened like he was enjoying a show.

He spoke lightly, like he was really just dropping by.

"Nothing~"

"Just wandering around."

"…."

King Kai's face froze.
