Chapter 26 - Another Individual Victory over Sun

Meanwhile, the other team members were once again shocked by Lin Hao's growth when they heard him say these words.

Different ideas are one thing, but he has his own ideas, and he knows that certain methods can be used to launch a counterattack.

Furthermore, what they said wasn't wrong at all. If it were Liverpool, they would definitely choose Lin Hao's defense. What, are they not a European team, not one of the top five leagues?

Ultimately, the conversation could only end in silence. Lin Hao's voice carried little weight, unless the head coach gave instructions to have others cooperate with Lin Hao's ideas and prevent others from having the same thoughts.

Those habits formed from childhood will lead them to continue playing football in the same way as before.

The game continued, and Tottenham threw the ball directly along the sideline. Son Heung-min used his speed to win the ball and dribbled all the way to the byline. He cut inside and broke through along the byline, but when he couldn't get past the goalkeeper, he finally passed the ball.

It was blocked out of bounds by an Arsenal player in the middle.

Then the corner kick was taken, and the ball was headed across to the middle at the far post inside the penalty area. It was Cech again, but he got to the attacking players first and dragged the ball over the crossbar.

Tottenham had another corner kick opportunity. The corner was taken again, but this time it wasn't taken well, and Cech caught it easily.

This clearly shows that Arsenal was at a disadvantage; they simply couldn't defend against the attacks. Tottenham players were always able to threaten the goal, so scoring was only a matter of time.

Arsenal launched an attack, with Lin Hao facing Trippier on the left wing. After a series of rhythmic feints, he shifted Trippier's center of gravity and got past him, forcing other players to cover and causing the defense to become somewhat disorganized.

Lin Hao was on the byline, not far from the goal. He used his explosive power to create some space and then crossed the ball.

Lin Hao looked up at the players trying to get into position in the middle and knew it was hopeless. Arsenal were neither making any runs down the flanks nor getting into position in the middle.

The ground level is okay, but higher up there is no chance.

The ball was cleared, and Eriksen received it, turned, and immediately launched a long pass to Son Heung-min in the distance. Son controlled the ball, faced the Arsenal defender, made a feint with his shoulder, and then drove straight in.

Heading straight for Arsenal's goal, he entered the penalty area but was blocked by Holding and Cech, and his final shot went wide of the goal.

Arsenal had a chance when the ball was passed to Aubameyang, who received it with his back to goal. He was challenged by Ben Davies, who then won the ball and passed it directly to Eriksen. Eriksen passed it to Alli on the right wing, who advanced the ball before passing it back to Sissoko.

Sissoko played a first-touch pass to Son Heung-min, who also played a first-touch pass into the penalty area. Kane arrived at the box and immediately shot.

The ball was too close to the goal, and given Kane's shooting skills, everyone knew the outcome the moment he received it.

The ball went into the net, and Tottenham are now 2-0 up!

Son Heung-min provided the assist, Kane scored the goal, and the two ran to the sidelines to celebrate together. After the celebration, Son Heung-min even patted his chest in Lin Hao's direction.

Lin Hao saw it and understood what he meant. He was saying that he had an assist and that he now had the advantage.

The game continues.

As always, Arsenal's clumsy attack was followed by Tottenham's efficient counter-attack.

With a two-goal lead, Tottenham adopted a positional defense, and Arsenal's best individual dribbler, Lin Hao, was tightly marked on the left flank by Trippier and Winks.

There is absolutely no chance.

As the game ticked away, Arsenal dominated the attacking time but failed to create any truly outstanding opportunities.

Until the very last moments of the match, after the 88th minute, Arsenal's two flanks, including the forwards, full-backs, and midfielders, bombarded the penalty area from all angles, trying to seize that last bit of opportunity.

In the first minute of stoppage time, Lin Hao created some angle and crossed the ball. Ben Davies, facing the goal, headed the ball back to clear it. The ball fell to Xhaka's feet, who then played a through ball to the right. Mkhitaryan chased down the ball and launched another cross into the penalty area.

Lin Hao was surprised to see the ball heading straight for him, so he didn't jump. But the ball landed precisely on his head. Lin Hao wasn't good at heading, so he could only try to use his waist and abdomen to head the ball towards the goal.

As it turned out, the play was poor, and Lori reacted quickly to save it.

Just then, Lin Hao ran forward a little, and the ball bounced right to his feet. Lin Hao still didn't have time to react and deflected the ball at an angle. That's Lin Hao's ball control; most people couldn't control the ball that well.

Lin Hao quickly raised his foot to shoot again, but he didn't have a chance to shoot again because he fell down. A Tottenham player bumped into him. It's already difficult to swing your leg and shoot from a stationary position, and this bump knocked him down as well, making it look a bit like a prone shot.

But it was actually a normal shot; the ball flew straight into the top right corner of the goal and into the net, giving Arsenal a pull-back.

However, time was running out. Lin Hao, who scored the last goal, didn't show any joy. He just shook his head helplessly, thinking that human strength eventually has its limits.

The current Arsenal team is not competitive at all.

Arsenal were eliminated in the EFL Cup quarter-finals after losing to Tottenham.

But Lin Hao won the duel between Lin Hao and Son Heung-min once again, with Lin Hao scoring a goal and Son Heung-min providing an assist.

Of course, this is calculated after Lin Hao came on. Even so, Son Heung-min didn't really lose. Football is about statistics, not just goals and assists.

But that would make things even more complicated. Son Heung-min helps the team when he's off the ball, but Lin Hao would be even more helpful to Arsenal when he comes on.

So there's no need for all that trouble. It's just a personal bet between individuals. They've agreed to only look at goal and assist statistics, so they're willing to accept the outcome of the bet.

Son Heung-min stood in the middle of the Emirates Stadium and, like Rashford, gently touched his face three times. Now everyone knew why he did this.

This can be considered a small consolation for Arsenal's home fans after their elimination.

Back in the league, in the eighteenth round, Arsenal finally won 3-1 against Burnley, ending their two-game losing streak.

However, Brighton then managed to hold them to a 1-1 draw.

The last match of December is against Liverpool, this time at Liverpool's home ground, Anfield Stadium.

This match served as a wake-up call for Arsenal, and it seems that Liverpool has indeed found a way to counter Arsenal.

Liverpool's attack was multifaceted, with Firmino scoring twice, and Salah, Mane, and Alexander-Arnold also finding the net, making it 5-1.

For Arsenal, substitute Lin Hao scored a goal on a counter-attack. This match also had an individual contest between Lin Hao and Arnold, but both scored only one goal, so the result was a draw.

Time has come to 2019, and it's now January.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League, failing to break into the top four!
