Chapter 40 - Alfonso's tight defense

They brought down both the ball and the players.

The referee stated that there was no foul because the ball was touched first, but because Neymar was lying on the ground in pain and the ball had gone out of bounds, he stopped the game to check on Neymar's condition.

Neymar was fine, sitting on the ground with his hands outstretched, looking at the referee, "Isn't that a foul?"

"It touched the ball first!"

"Yes, but he came here specifically to foul!"

The referee shook his head. "No means no!"

It was expected that Neymar would find himself in this situation, but what was unexpected was the referee's standards.

It's not fair to say the referee favored one side, but if the referee had been more lenient, it would definitely have been advantageous for Bayern. Neymar and Lin Hao are both players who are relatively afraid of physical contact.

The game resumed, and Bayern attacked with possession. Müller passed the ball to Coman, who held it for a moment. Alphonso Davies made a run down the wing, and Coman passed the ball to Davies. Between the two, Lin Hao rushed out and cleared the ball.

Alfonso stopped and smiled. "You sissy, this won't do. Our corner kicks are a huge threat!"

Lin Hao frowned; he never lost a verbal battle!

"Shut up, you can't even catch the ball!"

Bayern's corner kick will definitely be aimed at Lewandowski. It's similar to Neymar's situation. Even if PSG's side isn't tall enough, they might not be able to win the ball over Lewandowski, but they have more players, they can harass him, and they can do everything they can to stop him.

It's not so easy for him to seize the first point.

No one managed to get the ball, and it ended up going out of bounds on the other side.

Navas immediately grabbed the football and threw it forward with force.

Neymar turned and dribbled past Goretzka, hooking the ball back before Goretzka could react. Müller followed Neymar closely and pulled him up.

The referee blows the whistle.

That's good enough; at least the whistle blew.

Neymar looked utterly helpless, but as of now, although PSG hasn't launched a single threatening attack, Neymar has fulfilled his leadership role.

Despite being targeted like this, he still wanted the ball and continued to set an example by trying to find a breakthrough.

Seeing Neymar working so hard, the other PSG players were naturally eager to prove themselves, and the first thing they wanted to do was...

Neymar took a direct shot from the free kick, but missed. Neuer quickly took the free kick and found Coman.

As soon as Coman turned around, he saw a figure get down in front of him, and then he was knocked down.

Lin Hao made the tackle, but Lin Hao doesn't know how to tackle; he was just aiming for the player. Coman lay on the ground, clutching his ankle in pain.

The referee showed Lin Hao a yellow card.

Bayern's players immediately protested and came to confront Lin Hao, but PSG's players shielded Lin Hao behind them.

The referee quickly intervened.

This was something that had to be done. Bayern Munich used foul after foul to stop Neymar. The referee didn't give them cards, so Lin Hao showed them with his actions that if they weren't satisfied, they should come at him. Don't think that just because the referee didn't give them cards, they could become more and more unscrupulous.

Koeman was fine; he just needed a bit to recover and got up to continue the game.

The free kick from the attacking third was sent directly into the penalty area, and Lewandowski headed the ball towards goal, but it went over the crossbar.

PSG has been looking for opportunities for quick counter-attacks, but they haven't had any. No matter how fast Navas kicks off, it's difficult to create a quick counter-attack.

Lin Hao received a pass from his teammate on the left wing and faced Alfonso. Finally, it was time for his first head-to-head one-on-one duel.

They're a big club, so they have the confidence to defend themselves. Alfonso had to do it all himself.

Lin Hao turned sideways, tightly controlling the ball, and slowly moved forward, while Alfonso kept a low profile and followed Lin Hao closely.

Lin Hao suddenly started moving, and Alfonso followed closely. Lin Hao stopped abruptly, tried to cut inside with the ball, but Alfonso held on and kept following.

Lin Hao slammed the ball in again, and Alfonso, with his back to Lin Hao, reacted just as quickly and followed Lin Hao.

Lin Hao stopped abruptly, and Alfonso's foot stretched out. Lin Hao quickly flicked the ball, and although Alfonso didn't get to it immediately, the ball was no longer under Lin Hao's control. Alfonso held off Lin Hao and passed the ball to his teammate. Goretzka quickly found Coman in front with a single pass. Coman received the ball, dribbled past him, and crossed from the byline.

Lewandowski held off his opponent in the penalty area and took a shot, but his sister-in-law stretched out her foot, a step faster than Lewandowski, and kicked the ball high with her toe. Navas then rushed out to catch the ball.

Navas then ran to the edge of the penalty area and threw the ball directly to Lin Hao in the attacking third.

Lin Hao received the ball with his back to goal and immediately attempted a cross.

But he gently landed a Marseille turn, getting past Alphonso Davies.

Alphonso Davies quickly chased back, and he was fast enough to catch Lin Hao in an instant. But Lin Hao immediately made a sudden stop, and Alphonso also made a sudden stop. Young knees are not something that only Lin Hao has.

Lin Hao cut inside into the penalty area, and Alfonso followed up, engaging in physical battles and entanglements with Lin Hao. Lin Hao entered the penalty area, but due to Alfonso's challenge, he couldn't find an opportunity to shoot and was eventually dispossessed by Boateng.

"Hahaha, you sissy, are you convinced?"

Lin Hao was speechless. You've gotten past them twice, and they've defended against you twice. What else is there to say?

They have no right to make excuses.

The main thing is that Lin Hao really couldn't believe it and didn't understand how he was defended against.

"Don't doubt yourself. It's all about momentum. Bayern is too strong this season. They've boosted their confidence by defending against you. You didn't get past them, you just got caught up. So, they can use confidence to enhance their strength. Don't lose confidence, or you'll be even worse off!" Neymar said.

Lin Hao nodded without saying anything.

The ball in PSG's counter-attack was not passed well and was cleared out of bounds.

That poor pass really caught Paris off guard. It turns out, Bayern players are human too, they can make mistakes. They're just too strong.

All the PSG players had a thought in their hearts, but they dared not think about it: perhaps they wouldn't make it through today.

Kimmich crossed the ball from a 45-degree angle, and Lewandowski, under tight marking, was indeed unable to comfortably head the ball towards goal.

This time, Kimpembe cleared the danger at the near post.

What a golden opportunity! Paredes desperately held off his opponent, controlled the ball, and handed it to his sister-in-law. His sister-in-law then launched a long pass to Neymar, who ran back to receive the ball and laid it off to Mbappe before making a run himself.

Mbappe's speed is unmatched by Kimmich's.

He shakes off the defender, feigns a cross, cuts the ball back, passes it to Neymar, Neymar receives the ball, lobs it up, chipes it over the defender, and shoots.

The ball bounced off Boateng and back. Neymar received the ball with his back to goal and could no longer threaten the goal. He passed the ball to Herrera, who saw Lin Hao making a run into the penalty area and quickly passed it to him.

Before the ball even arrived, Lin Hao was already lying on the ground!

Lin Hao lay on the ground, motionless for a long time. He didn't shout or cry out, nor did he clutch his spot to show any pain. He simply didn't move at all!
