The sun rose in the east, bathing the world in golden light. Zigzagoon moved in his signature pattern across the dew-covered grass, his nose twitching with curiosity. High above, a white Silcoon trembled as it broke open, and a pair of Beautifly emerged, scattering fluorescent powder that shimmered in the morning air.
Nearby, hidden in a patch of tall grass, a unique Pokémon Egg vibrated gently. Fine cracks spread across the shell until a deep blue clown hat popped out, followed by a tiny red nose and pink skin.
"Cleffa~"
Mime Jr. stepped into the world. To the newborn, everything was a marvel—the rustling leaves, the vast blue sky, and the scent of the forest. He spotted a Bellsprout walking by and instinctively began to Mimic it. He bent his slender limbs, matching the Grass-type's sway perfectly.
They played for a while until the Bellsprout gestured that he had to return to his mother, a Victreebel.
"Cleffa?" Mime Jr. tilted his head. He didn't understand the concept of a "home," but as he watched his new friend disappear, a sense of loneliness gripped him. He decided he wanted a home, too.
The little fellow trekked through bushes and crossed streams. He ate wild Berries and drank from the river. At one point, a friendly Bibarel even carried him across a wide current. Eventually, he reached a patch of woods where the rhythmic sound of punching echoed.
Bang, bang... "Pooha!"
Primeape was practicing against a wooden stake. Mime Jr. immediately began swinging his tiny hands at the base of a massive tree, imitating the fighter. He looked up at Primeape and smiled; he felt he was getting close.
Passing through the final treeline, a vast golden field of nearly ripe Wanshu Wheat swayed in the wind.
"Hoppip hoppip!"
Bunnelby groaned. They were playing hide-and-seek, and he had unluckily been chosen as "it."
"Ga!" Psyduck cried out as everyone scattered.
Wartortle scurried to the lake and submerged, giggling behind his paws. Minccino vanished into the lush canopy on Torterra's back, while Dratini joined Wartortle in the depths. Frogadier, ever the ninja, leaped onto the roof of the sheep shed.
Psyduck was the most ambitious. He waddled deep into the dense wheat fields, confident that Bunnelby would never find him. As he pushed aside the stalks, he ran straight into a small, pink figure.
The two froze.
"Ga?"
"Cleffa?"
Psyduck clutched his head in his signature pose, wondering who this stranger was. Mime Jr. immediately clutched his own head, mirroring the duck exactly. Psyduck frowned; Mime Jr. frowned. Psyduck turned; Mime Jr. turned.
Back in the villa, Kaito clicked the "Upload" button on his computer.

It was a comprehensive masterpiece. It detailed the discovery, the unique characteristics—such as the immunity to Dragon-type moves—and reclassified existing species like the Cleffa, Jigglypuff, and Cottonee lines.
Kaito took a long sip of fresh Berry Juice and checked his status.

Kaito sighed, using his Power of Life to bridge the communication gap. "Slow down. You found a Pokémon that mimics you?"
He followed Psyduck to the fields and found Mime Jr. currently mirroring Bunnelby's every twitch.

The publication of the Fairy Type paper hit the scientific community like a tidal wave. At the National Research Institute, Director Su Baiyun convened an emergency meeting.
"A mere doctoral degree no longer suits Master Kaito," Su Baiyun declared. "To discover the eighteenth type is a feat for the ages. If we do not elevate his status, the world will mock us for being blind to his brilliance."
The council moved unanimously. Kaito was to be awarded the title of Honorary Doctor, and known henceforth as the Fairy Doctor.
Meanwhile, Kaito was staring at a new system notification that made his heart skip a beat.
