Thump, thump... A series of heavy footsteps echoed through the pitch-black cavern. In the absolute silence of the cave, every sound was amplified. A bright light flared as Valeriy, a rugged man from White Bear Country, adjusted his gaze.
By his side floated a Ceruledge, its blades burning with a ghostly, vengeful flame. A biting cold wind drifted from the depths, but Valeriy, wrapped in thick furs, pressed on. He stopped before ancient stone walls covered in intricate murals. They depicted a legend of a single dragon that assisted two hero brothers. When the brothers' beliefs diverged, the dragon split into two: the White Dragon of Truth and the Black Dragon of Ideals.
There was a third dragon, the husk left behind—the strongest existence, capable of freezing the world and fusing the two halves back into one.
Valeriy exited the tunnel into a vast, frozen wasteland. In the distance, a colossal iceberg loomed like a mountain. Within the translucent ice, a terrifying, massive silhouette was visible.
Valeriy let out a wild, ambitious laugh. "The Dragon of Truth/Reality! Kyurem! The strongest Dragon-type! Now, no one can stop me! I just need to find the other two..."
A gentle morning sun rose over the farm. Latios soared above, surveying the land. He was impressed; the Pokémon here were happy, and the life energy was rich. The dense Fairy-type energy from the Pixie Plate was a bit uncomfortable for a Dragon-type, but as a Mythical being, he could endure it.
He touched the Soul Dew Kaito had given him. A person who gives such a treasure to a stranger is rare indeed, he thought. He descended to the training grounds behind the new Gym, where Kaito was preparing.
"How is it?" Kaito asked.
"It is a paradise," Latios replied. "But I cannot stay. I have duties... Kaito, do you know of Lugia?"
Kaito's eyes narrowed, but before they could talk further, it was time for the ceremony.
The world's first Fairy Gym was opening today. Reporters, Gym Leaders, and even Regional Champions had gathered. Kaito had recruited several assistants—graduates from Modu University—to handle the preliminary tests, while Ono would serve as the primary Proxy Leader. But today, the Fairy Doctor would battle personally.
Kaito stepped out into the arena wearing a sharp, dark blue suit. The crowd erupted.
The system notified:
New Identity Unlocked: Gym Leader.
Quest Completed: Own your own Gym.
Reward: Title (Junior Gym Leader), Attribute Secret Treasure.
Unlocked: Gym Diary (Records daily battles for rewards).
"I am Gym Leader Kaito," he announced. Among the crowd were elites like You Lianghan.
The first challenger was a seasoned hiker, an Elite-tier Trainer. Kaito chose a Poké Ball from a rack organized by strength. He sent out Carbink.
"This is Carbink," Kaito explained to the cameras. "A Rock/Fairy-type. It will be the signature Pokémon of this Gym."
The challenger sent out a Clawitzer. Knowing Water beats Rock, he ordered a Water Pulse. Kaito countered calmly with Rock Tomb, creating a wall of stone to intercept the blast. He then ordered Sandstorm, which boosted Carbink's Special Defense by 50%.
Carbink's massive 150 base defenses made it an immovable object. The hiker lost the 3v3 match, but Kaito handed him the Pink Heart Badge anyway. "Your tactical awareness was excellent. You've earned this."
As the hiker left, a new challenger stepped onto the stage. She was a silver-haired woman with eyes like deep jewels, radiating a fierce fighting spirit.
Kaito's Power of Imagery flared. Behind the woman, he saw a towering, dark silhouette crackling with electricity—the Dragon of Ideals, Zekrom. Behind himself, the pure white form of Reshiram shimmered into view.
The two fated auras clashed in the air.
The Hero of Ideals had arrived.
Kaito has officially opened his Gym, only to be immediately challenged by his fated rival! With Zekrom backing the mysterious silver-haired woman, will Kaito reveal Reshiram to the world, or will he try to win using only his Fairy-type team?
