The sky shouldn't have been bleeding.
Yet crimson rivers pulsed across the clouds, dripping light like liquid fire over the quiet town of Ravenshade. People froze in the streets, staring up in horror as thunder rolled—but there was no sound. The lightning flashed—but there was no strike. The world trembled as if something enormous was pushing against it from the outside.
And only one person felt the truth behind it.
Aiden Vale.
He stood alone on the roof of his apartment building, a chilly wind lifting the white streak of hair that cut through his black bangs. His eyes—normally dull, tired, lifeless—glowed faintly with a color he hated to see.
Silver.
The mark of the forbidden lineage.
Aiden clenched his jaw as the sky split open, a jagged crack spreading across the heavens. Red light seeped through it like blood pouring from a wound.
"It's too early…" he whispered. "They weren't supposed to find me yet."
A deep hum vibrated through the air, shaking the metal vents around him. The crack widened. A shadow moved behind it—something massive, something ancient, something that had hunted his family for generations.
A winged silhouette slowly pushed through the tear in reality.
An Archon.
A divine executioner.
Sent by the Celestial Order to erase his bloodline.
Aiden exhaled shakily as the angelic figure stepped into the world, armored in radiant gold, halos burning behind its head like spinning blades.
Its voice boomed across the entire city.
"FOUND… YOU…"
Panic exploded below as civilians screamed and ran. Cars crashed. Windows shattered. But Aiden didn't move. He couldn't. His legs were frozen—not from fear, but from something worse.
Instinct.
Blood-deep instinct.
His lineage awakened.
His heartbeat pounded so hard the rooftop shook under him. Silver cracks of light spread from his chest like glowing veins. A voice whispered in his mind, ancient and cold.
"Unseal it."
"No…" Aiden whispered. "Not yet… If I use that power—"
"UNSEAL IT."
The Archon descended, its spear glowing with blinding divine fire.
"Aiden Vale," it thundered. "You carry the Sinful Blood. For crimes committed by your forefathers, your existence is hereby erased."
Aiden's fists clenched until blood ran down his palms.
"I didn't ask for this cursed bloodline," he said quietly. "I didn't ask to be hunted by your kind."
The Archon leveled its spear.
"Your desires are irrelevant. Your fate is already written."
Aiden lifted his head slowly. His silver eyes burned brighter, the glow spreading across his face.
"No," he said. "Not anymore."
The rooftop cracked beneath him as invisible force poured out of his body. The chains around his power snapped one by one.
The Archon hesitated.
"Impossible… Your seal—"
Aiden vanished.
One blink—gone.
His fist slammed into the Archon's face with enough power to distort the air. The divine armor cracked. The angel stumbled backward, shocked.
Aiden hovered in the air, silver light exploding around him like a storm.
"For the first time in my life…" Aiden said softly, "I'm done running."
The Archon steadied itself, wings flaring open in rage.
"BLASPHEMER!"
Aiden raised his hand. Pure silver energy surged, swirling into a blade of light.
"No," he said, his voice calm.
"I'm the Godbreaker."
And the battle that would decide the fate of heaven and earth began.
