Chapter 36 - Live Broadcast ( Part 3 ) : The Giants And Their Little Star

🔴LIVE

Oduun turned his gaze toward Bunhang, who had been immersed in his own world from the start—a thin smile lingering on his lips, while his small feet swung lightly like a clock pendulum enjoying the slow passage of time.

"You're really enjoying what we're doing right now, aren't you, Bunhang?"

"And I'm certain… you're not nervous at all, right?"

The question caused Bunhang's feet to stop swinging instantly. He turned quickly, his clear eyes looking at Oduun with full attention.

"Actually, I'm a little nervous, Hyung."

"But after reading the comments saying I'm cute, that nervousness just vanished."

"I'm truly enjoying this… it feels like it's been a long time since I heard comments like that. Meeting them tonight makes me feel alive again."

The answer flowed out as it was—as pure as morning dew falling without a plan.

That honesty made Oduun chuckle softly. Unconsciously, his hand moved, ruffling Bunhang's hair with a tenderness that was almost too precious to touch—a gesture that wasn't staged at all; it was natural, born purely from the warmth that suddenly arose.

The reaction made Bunhang laugh along, his voice light, adding a bright splash of color to the seconds that continued to roll by.

"So, Bunhang, how does it feel to be the youngest in the group?"

"Won't you be receiving so much love? And of course… your hyungs here will surely pamper you."

A crisp laugh followed, breaking out weightlessly, carrying the scent of a familiar intimacy between them.

The joke sounded relaxed, yet it held a warm hope about the special position of a youngest member in a more mature circle.

Bunhang didn't answer immediately.

His eyes, which had just been sparkling with cheer and warmth, suddenly dimmed, turning into a slightly wilted gaze, like a leaf scorched by the sun for too long.

His gaze dropped. His lips pouted adorably, a small movement revealing the unease he was trying to hide. Something was bothering his mind—something that made him hesitate, perhaps even a little afraid to open up.

"May I say this?"

"Honestly… I feel envious, and a bit insecure."

Instantly, Oduun's laughter evaporated, swallowed by the sudden shift in atmosphere, and every eye was now fixed on Bunhang.

"Eh? What do you mean, Bunhang?"

"Why do you feel that way?"

Bunhang lifted his face.

His gaze wandered around, resting on one figure after another before settling back on Oduun. There was a brief pause—a silent space where courage was gathered—then his voice flowed again.

"Even though I'm cute, tiny, and short… and even though many people like me, I still feel insecure. That feeling… sometimes it bothers me."

"Look at all of you…"

His gaze stopped on Gomsuk.

"Take Gomsuk-Hyung, for example. Among all of us, he's the tallest. His stature sometimes makes me think… when we first met, I thought he was a giant. But it turns out… he was just born with that kind of build."

His gaze shifted, now directed at Namsek.

"Namsek-Hyung is just as tall as Gomsuk-Hyung. What stands out the most are his broad shoulders… and I can guess, they're definitely muscular, right?"

Then Sehan became his next destination.

"I'm also sure Sehan-Hyung works out every day, right? I can tell by his sharp jawline… and those big, muscular arms."

Finally, his gaze returned to Oduun.

"Oduun-Hyung is the same."

"Why do all of you have such inhuman heights and bodies that are larger than most ordinary people?"

"I want to be like that too… but I have to admit, I don't really like exercising."

"So, what should I do?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Silence crept through the room.

Every pair of eyes remained still, as if weighing the fragments of feelings that had just been laid bare.

Amidst the quiet, Oduun's face, which had initially tensed, began to soften. His palm returned to the crown of Bunhang's head, stroking gently with a patient rhythm, as if smoothing out the tangled threads inside Bunhang's heart.

"So… that's the problem?"

"Just because we have larger builds, you're losing your confidence?"

Bunhang simply lowered his gaze.

"What else?"

"I want to look cool and have a body as tall as yours, too. But… it seems that's not easily achieved just by relying on exercise, is it?"

His voice thinned, resembling the whisper of wind trapped between leaves.

From the other side, Gomsuk continued to gaze at him with a serene look. His lips parted slowly, and the words that emerged were unhurried; each syllable flowed steadily, calming, like a river stream washing over the sand on the bank.

"You don't need to feel that way, Bunhang."

"Not everything you think is cool is necessarily what's best for you."

Bunhang glanced up, catching the sincerity on Gomsuk's face.

"What looks attractive doesn't always bring goodness, and what seems ordinary doesn't always mean it's bad."

Namsek, who had been staring at Bunhang with a flat gaze and a face that remained loyal to emotionless calm, finally intervened.

"Being yourself is far better than sacrificing who you are just to become someone else."

"I'm not saying this to stop you from dreaming. I just want you to know… you don't need to be someone else to look cool."

"Be cool in your own way. That is far more meaningful—and far safer."

The tone was as straight and steady as a small hammer repeatedly tapping at Bunhang's consciousness. Inside his chest, something shifted, moving slowly, as if a long-locked wheel had finally begun to turn.

"If you don't like exercising..."

Sehan's voice broke through his reverie. Bunhang lifted his face, meeting Sehan's focused and clear gaze.

"Then you don't need to force yourself into heavy workouts. Period."

"Maybe it's not the exercise you hate… but the idea that you have to do something grueling just to become tall, right?"

"If there's a lighter, more practical way, why choose the heavy and complicated one?"

"You're still growing. Your height will naturally increase. Just balance what you eat and choose a light exercise you can do consistently. Do that for a few weeks… then see the results for yourself."

Every word Sehan spoke earned a nod from Oduun—a sign of total agreement.

"Everything your hyungs said is true, Bunhang."

"What you think is cool isn't necessarily what's best for you. You're already cool enough in your own way."

"And just like Sehan-Hyung said—he's an expert when it comes to sports, so you can trust his words. You don't need to push yourself through heavy training. Just do what makes you feel comfortable."

A thin, warm smile slowly bloomed on Oduun's lips—a smile devoid of pretense. Bunhang merely stared at him, motionless and silent, letting himself drift in that wave of warmth.

"For now, you don't need to overthink everything, Bunhang."

"I'm sure among those watching this broadcast, there are people just like you. The only difference is one thing—they accept themselves as they are, while continuing to strive to be the best version of themselves."

"And didn't you have many fans back when you were a contestant on the survival program? They kept supporting you until you finally debuted."

"Think about it… what made them support you? Why did they shout your name so loudly and hold up banners filled with words of encouragement?"

"Was it because of your height or because you weren't 'cool'? Of course not."

"They supported you because you deserved to debut. Because of everything you've staked on this. And that means one thing: they have placed their trust in you, Bunhang."

Bunhang stood frozen.

The words seeped in like a wake-up mantra, making the fragmented pieces inside him finally connect.

"Bunhang..."

Gomsuk's voice touched him again, gentle yet firm.

"Don't you want to look at the screen? Look at how many of them are shouting your name right now."

"Try reading their comments. I'm certain… your confidence will return."

Bunhang slowly turned his head toward the screen.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something bloomed on Bunhang's face. The small, initially fragile smile grew slowly, then blossomed into full color—bright as a morning that had finally found its sun again.

Seeing the change, Oduun immediately drew closer. His arm slid around Bunhang's shoulder in a protective and warm gesture, a stillness that calmed Bunhang's entire body.

Bunhang looked up for a moment, startled by the closeness, as if only now realizing that he had never been alone all this time.

"Well?" Oduun asked softly. "Do you feel better? They're happy because you're being yourself, aren't they?"

Bunhang averted his gaze for a second, looking down as he paced his breathing, as if smoothing out the waves of emotion in his chest.

Then, he lifted his head. He looked at Oduun, then at Gomsuk with his serene smile, at Namsek who remained expressionless yet provided a silent sense of security, and at Sehan, whose wide smirk gave the impression of a pillar one could lean on when fragile—until finally, his eyes returned to Oduun.

"Thank you, Hyung."

His voice sparkled again, bright like a small bell chiming lightly. His eyes were alive, filled with light.

"I feel much better now… and I'm truly sorry."

"I think I've said things I shouldn't have. What was supposed to be a lighthearted and happy moment got interrupted by my… slightly embarrassing story."

His tone softened, fragile and tender—like a confession that had only just found its courage at the very end.

"Embarrassing?" Sehan's voice cut in. "I don't think so."

"In fact, by sharing that..." He paused, then turned his face to the camera. His smile opened wide and warm, as if greeting every single soul behind the screen. "Those who feel the same as you—those who feel insecure—must be feeling better now, feeling accepted again."

"They are finding themselves… the true version of who they are, in their own way, not the way others expect them to be."

Sehan looked back at Bunhang, his gaze strengthening. "So, thank yourself. You made tonight's broadcast feel more alive."

"Imagine if we just announced the group and fandom name right away, without any warning, without leaving an impression. Something would have been missing. Like a space that should have been filled, but remained empty."

His tone returned to its casual flow.

However, at the end of the sentence, there was an abrupt pause—a sudden realization. His eyes widened, as if he had just caught something he'd missed. That reaction invited a small laugh from Oduun.

Oduun turned to face the camera, his smile calm, summarizing all the feelings that had just blossomed.

"After hearing everything the members felt tonight…"

"The most memorable part was certainly what Bunhang said about his feelings. I hope you all always love yourselves, and please, never feel insecure, okay?"

"And tonight, we have something we want to announce and show you. We are going to announce our official group name and fandom name."

"So, please stay with us."
