Chapter 150 - Chapter 150 Blood, Fire, and Dragon Eggs

Myr, Viserys's residence, though called a residence, was nothing more than the property of a rebellious rich merchant, now lent to Viserys by Gendry.

Though this residence, adorned with white marble carvings, was beautiful with fountains and gardens, it was sparsely populated and felt empty.

What pained Viserys even more was that it was some distance from the original Governor's Mansions, meaning Viserys was merely a figure excluded from the center of power. Only the Unsullied guarded the gates strictly.

"How do I look?" Viserys asked the woman beside him. Besides Viserys, there was also a courtesan from Myr, Daelo, in the room.

Daelo, though called a courtesan, was actually a woman from a high-class Brothel in Myr. Because places like Brothels were inseparable from human trafficking, and because the governors and rich merchants behind the Two Cities' Brothels had largely died or defected, most of the Brothels in Myr and Tyrosh could no longer operate. The former bed slaves slowly became courtesans who solicited their own clients.

Ever since Dany left, Viserys, who had some gold dragons on hand, completely indulged in heavy drinking and whoring, completely letting himself go.

Viserys looked at his reflection in the mirror. He wore a bright red silk tunic, his cloak and gloves were black velvet, and a longsword in a leather sheath hung diagonally at his waist. Viserys was a handsome young man, but there was a certain madness about him. He was gaunt, his hands fidgeted, and there was a fanatical look in his pale purple eyes.

"You are the true dragon, incomparable," Daelo praised. She was a typical Lysene, with blue eyes, platinum blonde curly hair, and smooth, fair skin, as the bloodline of Old Valyria was still strong in them. It was precisely because of her Old Valyria bloodline that Viserys liked her the most.

"true dragon, true dragon. Look at what has become of me now. Those beautiful Governor's Mansions in Myr now belong to that Bastard's taxi soldiers. Even Jorah, a traitor, and Qyburn, an Old Maester, live better than I do." Viserys's eyes burned like fire, "And Dany, that traitor is no longer my sister. She has forgotten the betrayal we suffered."

Daelo dared not speak, because the people Viserys mentioned were all powerful figures not to be trifled with.

"Black and red are our family's colors, not the banner designed by that Bastard," Viserys said, seeing the quartered banner fluttering outside the manor.

"One day, the dragon banner will fly again," Daelo flattered, and Viserys's mood improved considerably.

"The true dragon never forgets. That Bastard deceived me, and I will claim my birthright. Look at where I live, does it match my status as a king? That Bastard slept with my sister, yet he won't lend me an army."

"Viserys, I'm scared," Daelo told him worriedly. She loved this exiled prince, and not just for the money.

"What did you call me?" Viserys suddenly turned around and pinched Daelo's chin. "You whore, don't think that just because I've slept with you a few times, you can call the king by his name."

"Your Majesty, Viserys," Daelo whispered, tears streaming down her face. "Your Majesty, I am worried for you. There are Unsullied all around us; we are being watched."

"Of course, I know that." A hint of impatience appeared on Viserys's face. "Do you take me for a fool? The Bastard is fighting to the death with those horse people, who smell of horses, out in the wilderness. The defenses will surely be somewhat relaxed. This is my last chance."

"Your Majesty, I think we are doing quite well here. We have a manor, supplies, and I can be with you."

"Your Majesty, Your Majesty, is a king without land still a king?" Viserys said coldly. "Westeros is the land inherited by our true dragon bloodline. Though it was stolen by schemes and tricks, it still belongs to me, and always will."

"Can I follow you?"

"You?" Viserys said scornfully, then changed his mind, thinking perhaps taking a woman would make Dany relax.

"Very well," Viserys stroked her beautiful hair affectionately, "When historians write my biography in the future, they will say my reign began today."

Viserys was different from Dany. When the kingdom fell, he already had memories, having eaten and seen, so he naturally longed for the iron throne. Moreover, the Mad King's favored courtiers had even proposed deposing Rhaegar and making Viserys the Crown Prince.

Viserys, with his mediocre talent, attempted the most difficult task of restoring his kingdom, and it was under this pressure that he began to descend into madness and hysteria.

"Your Majesty, I..." Daelo looked at Viserys, about to tell him good news, but Viserys was no longer in the mood to listen.

"Whatever it is, let's talk about it when we get back."

Daelo touched her belly, then said nothing.

"I want to see my sister," Viserys told the Unsullied guarding the gate.

The Unsullied gave him a cold glance, but still escorted Viserys to Gendry's residence. These were not only Viserys's guards but also his overseers.

Viserys rode through the streets, swaggering, observing the quiet and peaceful city of Myr. The war was raging not far from Myr, yet the lives of the people of Myr continued as usual, in the spice market, the fish market, and so on.

Because the people of Myr firmly believed that Gendry would achieve a new great victory.

"Victory, huh? What's so great about defeating a savage? One day, I will make them remember the true dragon's might," Viserys thought bitterly.

Dany's residence was the former mansion of Myr's first governor, now Gendry's spoils of war. Its pavilions, towers, gardens, and ponds were famous throughout Myr. But Dany stayed there not for the mansion's luxury, but to stand at the top of the high tower, hoping to glimpse the battlefield situation and pray for Gendry and the soldiers.

Blazing flames burned in the brazier. The tower was high, and high places were always cold. Dany was near the brazier, writing letters for the soldiers.

"Princess, your handwriting is quite good," Dany's Attendants said.

"This is all I can do for the warriors," Dany said with a smile. "Medics can stitch and sterilize for the warriors, while I can only do small things like mending cloaks and writing letters home for them."

"That's already very great..." Dany's Attendants praised.

"I wonder how Gendry and their battle is going," Dany still worried about the outcome of the war, because everyone knew Khal Drogo was the Khal of Khals, the most ferocious Khal. Even if she looked with eager anticipation, due to distance and obstacles, she couldn't see the full scope of the war.

"Princess, Commander Gendry will be fine," the Attendants said. "He is the liberator of slaves, as if chosen by fate, he will light the path for slaves."

"I also firmly believe that he will win beautifully," Dany said.

"Your brother has arrived, Princess," the Unsullied reported.

"Viserys, let him come up," Dany was a bit surprised, because Viserys now hated coming here to ask her for help, believing it to be an insult to a king's dignity.

Viserys saw his sister on the tower. Dany, accompanied by her Attendants and Unsullied guards, greeted Viserys.

"Brother, long time no see," Dany said to Viserys. Behind Viserys was also a beautiful woman from Lys.

"Who is this?" Dany asked.

"This is my maid," Viserys said unblushingly. Although Dany was aware of Viserys's current absurdities, she did not expose him.

"What is your name?" Dany gently looked at the maid Viserys brought, who was actually Viserys's bedmate.

"Dae, Daelo, I am Lysene," Daelo said softly, lowering her head.

"Dany, when will your husband's army move out?" Viserys asked directly.

Viserys looked at Dany, and a deep chasm seemed to have formed between them.

Dany had silver-gold hair and purple eyes, wearing her mother's crown. Previously, Dany was petite, but now that she had settled down, she had grown taller and healthier, making her even more beautiful.

"They lied to me," Viserys thought bitterly, his eyes showing covetousness, anger, and unease. To restore his kingdom, he had sold his own sister, only to find that even his sister had followed someone else.

Viserys was furious about giving up his sister and betrothing her to Gendry. And the night before Dany left Pentos, he had entered her room, attempting to at least take her virginity. However, Illyrio had foreseen this and placed guards in Dany's room, preventing it from happening.

Dany frowned, not expecting Viserys to still be dreaming of restoring his kingdom. "I will speak to Commander Gendry about this."

But Dany knew things were not as easy as Viserys wanted. Gendry was the ruler of the Two Cities, and Gendry would give Viserys "gifts," but the ultimate control lay with Gendry.

"He'd better hurry," Viserys said coldly, "He promised me a crown, and I'm determined to get it. No one messes with the true dragon."

"I hope he doesn't make you wait too long," Dany said, looking at Viserys, feeling a bit guilty herself. Because Gendry also had a claim to that damn iron throne, and he had no interest in giving it to Viserys.

"Are you lying to me again?" Viserys suddenly burst out laughing. "The true dragon never forgets."

"Across the Narrow Sea, where the hills are green, the flowers bloom in the plains, and deep rivers flow, there are black stone towers rising among magnificent grey-blue peaks, and armored knights with bright banners ride to the battlefield. The Dothraki call it 'Rhaesh Andali,' meaning 'Land of the andals.' In the Free Cities, people call it 'Westeros' and the 'Sunset Kingdoms.' That is our land, but you have forgotten it all," Viserys shouted.

"I haven't forgotten, brother," Dany said. "But now my fiancé is fighting, and the horse people are a formidable enemy for him." Dany was not like Viserys; she didn't have as much affection for Westeros. She wouldn't become obsessed like Viserys.

Daelo covered her face, sobbing incessantly.

"You've forgotten, Dany. You're a traitor. What right do you have to wear Mother's crown? You're a whore, a traitor, you're mixed up with that Bastard!" Viserys screamed. "Think of all the jewels and silks, Dragonstone and King's Landing, the iron throne and the Seven Kingdoms, all stolen from us, and we will take them all back!"

"I haven't forgotten," Dany said, looking at her hysterical brother. Viserys lived only for that day, but Dany only wanted to return to the house with the red door, she wanted the lemon tree outside her window, and her lost childhood. But now, at last, someone had come to fill Dany's life.

Viserys stepped forward, glaring fiercely at his sister. "I can't wait for that little Bastard to return. The true dragon wants his gift now."

"Viserys, Your Majesty, don't do this," Daelo pleaded with Viserys, but he flung her aside.

The Attendants heard the hostility in Viserys's tone, but due to Dany's orders, the Unsullied were still at a greater distance, making the situation very tricky.

"What do you want to do?" Dany asked her brother.

"Hand over the dragon egg. I know you are inseparable from the dragon egg. The dragon egg should belong to me. Give me the dragon egg, and I will no longer care about you and that Bastard's business," Viserys commanded.

"You wish," Dany said with courage.

"Very well, it seems you've forgotten the wrath of the sleeping dragon!" Viserys roared, then began to stride forward.

"I will never let you harm the Princess!" the Attendants shouted.

Dany's body trembled slightly. Being hit was a muscle memory from her past, one she had indeed never forgotten. But now, she needed to awaken her courage.

Viserys, with his sharp eyes, had already spotted the cedarwood chest not far from the Attendants. The priceless treasure, the dragon egg fossils, were there. Dany openly kept the dragon egg with her at all times.

"I am the true dragon, the last true dragon!" Viserys pushed the Attendants aside and looked at the three dragon egg fossils, a 瘋狂 expression in his eyes. "In the past, my history relied on others; now I will write it myself. I will exchange the dragon egg for ships and soldiers. I will personally take revenge on the usurper."

"You're mad, brother," Dany said, looking at her Attendants.

"Mad? I believe you are truly mad! Tell the Unsullied to let me leave, let me take the fastest and best ship. Otherwise, when that Bastard returns, everything will be over!" Viserys shouted.

The Unsullied had all closed in, wearing black breastplates and holding short swords and shields.

Viserys clearly panicked. His swordsmanship was mediocre, completely untrained. Viserys haphazardly drew his sword and babbled incoherently.

"Don't come closer, don't any of you come closer!" Viserys yelled wildly.

"Enough, my King!" Daelo suddenly stood behind Viserys, trying to pull on his sleeve, looking at the anxious king, the pathetic young man driven mad by anxiety and despair.

"Get away, get away, you stupid woman!" Viserys kicked Daelo away and stood in a dangerous corner, brandishing his longsword.

"Let go, Your Majesty. Aren't things good as they are?" Daelo cried, pleading with him.

"Good? Let me watch the usurper and the traitor Tywin live to old age?" Viserys roared, then his blade cut Daelo's arm, blood gushing out, leaving a wound.

"Viserys, stop him quickly!" Dany immediately shouted.

The Unsullied advanced, banging their shields.

Dany retreated to a safe position, surrounded by her Attendants, leaving only Viserys and Daelo together.

"Whoosh!" An arrow from a crossbow struck the ground, as a warning to Viserys.

"I, I am the King!" Viserys continued to brandish his sword, but found nothing to block.

Viserys poked at the coals in the brazier, trying to avoid being surrounded.

"Enough, Your Majesty, my King! For you, and for me!" Daelo pleaded bitterly.

"You, what are you?" Viserys shouted, "You're just my whore!"
