Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 The Black Emperor the Thief

Back at the Backlund Mechanical Research Society, Odis, accompanied by Max, recounted her ordeal in detail.

He went to Capin to demand someone back, but was attacked by the imposing figure. Parker attacked him first, and he had to retaliate, which led to the conflict with Capin and the extraordinary individuals in his villa.

In a sense, this is indeed the truth, and Odis had previously reported this to the "Mechanical Heart." Celt used his extraordinary abilities to judge that everything Odis said was true.

It wasn't until the arrival of Archbishop Horamik Hayden, with his kind face and white priest's robes, that the "Substitute Punishers" and the military realized the importance the Church of the God of Steam and Machines placed on Odis.

Upon hearing that the military and the Punishers had both come to investigate the case, Ikonser Bernard, the senior deacon of the "Mechanical Heart," immediately went to invite Archbishop Horamik.

Holamick learned that the church's "ace intelligence officer" was involved in an extraordinary case and rushed over immediately.

After meeting Archbishop Ace of the Church of Storms and the demigod Celt of the military, Horamik first chatted with the two of them for a few minutes, and then told them about the "Billionaire Blair case" that had shocked the Extraordinary World a few days ago.

It was also stated that thanks to Odis providing crucial clues, "The Mechanical Heart" was able to solve the case without the knowledge of any of the official extraordinary individuals.

Ace and Celt both understood Horamik's meaning: I will personally vouch for this man.

This is understandable; they would do their best to protect such an outstanding intelligence officer.

After learning that Odis had been forced into the case, Ace stopped asking any questions.

After learning that Byron's investigation had only found evidence of Capin's crimes and had not found any other information such as the buyers of the slaves, Selse simply asked Odis, "Then why did you seem a little guilty at the gate of Capin's villa earlier, and did not immediately give us a brief summary of what you knew about the case?"

"Because I've heard about the damage the 'Spirit Whip' can cause," Odis said with a helpless smile. "It's said to cause permanent damage, so I'm very reluctant to be interrogated by you."

Selse smiled and didn't ask any more questions.

With the two demigods no longer paying much attention, the rest were basically just routine inquiries.

As for questions about where the extraordinary characteristics of Heras and the others went, Odis claimed not to know, and speculated that they might have been taken away by that majestic figure.

After seeing off the military and the "Punishers," Odis, who was no longer seriously injured, stood up and bowed to Horamik, saying, "Archbishop, thank you for your protection."

Without the demigod's guarantee, even under the protection of the "Mechanical Heart," his interrogation would not have ended so quickly.

Khoramik sat in his chair, smiling, and asked, "Is there anything you want to tell me?"

Odis smiled and said, "I knew my little tricks wouldn't fool you."

He then put away his smile and said, "I deliberately shot Kapin because his disregard for life was outrageous. And after learning that the imposing figure's purpose was to release the kidnapped girls, I offered some assistance."

Khoramik said calmly, "That's only human nature."

Odis continued, "Those four deceased Extraordinaries were all 'Arbitrators,' and the military seems to be paying too much attention to this matter."

"Mr. Searles seems to have said that he lived nearby and arrived at the scene immediately, but according to some information I've inadvertently learned, he owns four properties in Backlund, and we don't know if he's staying in the Joewood area today."

Horamik straightened up from the backrest and looked at Odis: "What are you trying to say?"

"It seems the military is plotting something," Odis said seriously. "I have no evidence, it's just a gut feeling."

Khoramik and Ikonser remained silent for a long while before Khoramik spoke again: "Keep an eye on this information, but don't investigate it yourself."

Odis immediately replied, "Yes!"

After Archbishop Horamik left, Ikonser said to Odis, "You'll stay here tonight and sleep in the lounge. You should be familiar with the investigation procedures. You'll be available whenever needed during the investigation."

In other words, from the perspective of "Mechanical Heart," there's absolutely nothing wrong with Odis. However, he still needs to put on a show and cooperate with the investigation.

Odis nodded: "Okay."

He then said to his good friend Max, "Get me something to eat. I've been doing experiments in the mountains all day and haven't even had lunch."

...

Above the gray fog, Klein, the "Fool" sitting at the head of the ancient bronze table, let out a long sigh of relief: That scared me to death!

Unexpectedly, the mysterious lady he met at the Kingdom Museum quietly crept up behind him and prepared a very powerful seal for him.

Without the help of "Above the Gray Fog," I probably wouldn't be back today.

Theoretically, he returned to the spirit world, but not by opening a passage to the spirit world and then returning to "above the gray mist".

Rather, it was the power "above the gray fog" that opened a door in the real world and brought him back, which is why the powerful seal was ineffective.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Then, a somewhat tired Klein used a citrine pendant to perform a divination: "The masked youth tonight is Mr. Gar."

"The masked youth tonight is Mr. Gar."

"..."

After silently repeating the mantra seven times, the citrine pendant rotates clockwise.

It really is Mr. Gar!

Klein then thought of that powerful battle axe: "Mr. Garr is also in the arms business?"

No, no, that's not the point. The point is... hiss~

The battle had drained too much of his spiritual energy, leaving Klein with a splitting headache. He had no choice but to quickly return to the real world to rest and think about the problem later when he had more time.

...

The next morning.

Inside the Earl Hall's luxurious villa in Queens.

Audrey was waiting for the maid to cut the food when she suddenly heard Earl Hall, who was used to reading the newspaper at breakfast, chuckle: "Kapin is dead."

"Who is he?" Audrey asked.

"A wealthy man who might be a human trafficker in private," Earl Hall chuckled. "He was murdered last night, and all the newspapers are reporting that the killer is the Robin Hood, hmm, the Robin Hood 'Black Emperor'."

Black Emperor!

Audrey immediately thought of the "blasphemous card" belonging to Mr. Fool, and she became interested in the case of Capin's murder: "It sounds interesting. Although it's illegal, I have to say, that thief did a really good job."

"Dad, what happened next?"

"The investigation is still ongoing," Earl Hall said, taking a sip of tea. "However, someone saw a young man wearing a mask break into Kapin's villa before he was killed."
