Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Tights: Making Vegeta the Protagonist of a Novel

After some discussion, Vegeta finally understood why Jaco and Tights had returned.

Some time ago, they had learned that Frieza and King Cold had been eliminated and that their forces had collapsed. The information even involved Bulma. Because of this, Tights contacted her younger sister. Later, after learning about Vegeta's situation—and discovering that Bulma and Vegeta were now together—Tights grew uneasy and decided to come back to take a look for herself.

"That's basically it, so please don't make things difficult for Jaco."

Sensing subtle changes in Vegeta's demeanor, Bulma grew worried that he might act against Jaco.

After all, in her understanding, Vegeta had once been a member of Frieza's army, and it was natural that he might have old grudges against the Galactic Patrol.

"Don't worry. As long as he doesn't do anything to offend me, I won't lay a hand on him. Even if we were enemies in the past, now that Frieza and King Cold are gone, there shouldn't be any conflict between me and the Galactic Patrol.

"Actually, the Galactic Patrol should be thanking me. By eliminating Frieza and King Cold, I've prevented countless planets and lives from being destroyed by evil criminals in the future."

Vegeta spoke bluntly, leaving Jaco with no room to argue.

As a Galactic Patrolman, Jaco knew many internal truths.

For example, Frieza's forces rampaged freely throughout the universe. Logically speaking, the Galactic Patrol shouldn't have turned a blind eye—but the reality was that they could only watch helplessly, unable to do anything.

It was only in recent years that Merus had begun actively intercepting criminals. With his overwhelming strength, he gained fame and dared to stand against evil forces like Frieza's army.

"Can you really guarantee that after taking over the territories of Frieza and King Cold, you won't become the same kind of villain they were?" Jaco asked solemnly—though his seriousness only made him look comical.

After all, his very existence felt like something straight out of a gag manga.

Vegeta briefly wondered whether Arale existed somewhere on Earth—but the thought passed quickly.

Those were anime-only crossover characters anyway; they didn't exist in the original canon.

Looking at Jaco's overly serious expression, Vegeta smirked slightly.

"Where there is light, there will always be darkness. Nothing in this universe is absolute. But at the very least, under our rule, the universe won't be as chaotic as it was before."

"I can vouch for that. I believe in Vegeta, and I'll help him accomplish this," Bulma said firmly, standing beside him.

Her words moved Vegeta.

"You don't need to prove anything to him. Compared to what we're actually doing, the Galactic Patrol can't do anything—and they certainly have no right to dictate what we should or shouldn't do."

Jaco nearly lost his composure at that, yet he couldn't refute it.

If their authority truly worked, Frieza's forces would've been dealt with long ago.

"Oh, and there's one more thing I need to correct. I'm not just taking over Frieza's and King Cold's territories anymore. Just now, Cooler was also killed by Kakarot on Namek. From this moment on, the era of the universe's emperors is over.

"Cooler's territory will be absorbed as well. Only through complete unification can true peace exist in this universe."

Vegeta's ambition was grand—though simply saying "ruling the universe" would've summed it up.

Still, phrasing it this way sounded far more refined.

Jaco was stunned. Even Cooler was gone?

Meanwhile, Tights' eyes lit up. Countless ideas flashed through her mind.

As a wandering sci-fi adventure novelist who traveled the universe, she had always dreamed of creating a masterpiece that would spread across the cosmos.

And now, Vegeta sparked something in her.

A fallen Saiyan prince, enduring humiliation, completing his revenge, and ultimately unifying the universe to bring peace—

The premise was classic, even cliché, but once elevated to a cosmic scale, it became something entirely different.

With her storytelling skills, it would absolutely become a hit across the universe.

Of course, Tights kept these thoughts to herself. She didn't dare voice them out loud.

After some polite conversation, everyone went inside the house, sipping tea and eating snacks while sharing their experiences.

Vegeta didn't join in.

This was a reunion between sisters—he had no reason to intrude.

Dr. Brief and his wife sat beside Tights, listening to their daughter's stories, sometimes laughing, sometimes showing concern.

Vegeta stood alone by the window, deep in thought.

Jaco sat on the sofa, his gaze drifting toward Vegeta from time to time.

According to the intelligence he possessed, Vegeta was supposed to be extremely evil.

Yet the Vegeta standing before him felt completely different from the data.

Maybe Lord Galactic King's worries are unnecessary… Jaco thought—then quickly shook his head.

After all, this was only their first meeting. What kind of person Vegeta truly was still required deeper observation.

Especially considering the many crimes Vegeta had committed in the past.

Soon, after everyone finished sharing their experiences, Tights said that long-term space travel had exhausted her and that she wanted to return to her room and rest.

Originally, she hadn't planned to stay long this time—but inspiration had struck. She decided to remain at home for a while, gather more information, and develop her ideas further. What came next could wait.

Her decision to stay was wonderful news for Dr. Brief, his wife, and Bulma.

They immediately told her to rest first and planned a welcome banquet for that evening.

As for Jaco, he also stayed on Earth for the time being.

His objective was clear: Vegeta. He needed to gather information and report it.

After arranging Jaco's room, Bulma returned to Vegeta's side.

Tights, of course, had her own room—this was her home, after all. Even though she hadn't returned in years, she felt no discomfort.

At most, she lacked suitable clothes, so her mother Bikini went to prepare some for her.

In the end, only Bulma, Dr. Brief, and Vegeta remained in the living room.
