Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Danzo Uses Izanagi!

The moment the words left his mouth, the crowd was stunned.

"Sharingan? Lord Danzo is hiding a Sharingan under that bandage?"

"No way… that can't be real."

"Is he serious?"

The whispers swept through the streets like wildfire.

Danzo was visibly shaken, but quickly regained his composure.

"And what proof do you have to say that?" he sneered. "This eye was injured long ago. It's photosensitive—I cover it to protect it. You're claiming it's a Sharingan? How laughable."

He tried to play it cool, but inside, he was in a complete panic.

Because yes—his right eye was a Sharingan.

After his old comrade Uchiha Kagami passed away, Danzo had secretly removed one of his intact eyes and transplanted it into himself.

He had only dared to transplant one eye, fearing that possessing both might lead him to succumb to the same emotional instability the Uchiha were infamous for.

Even so, that single eye had granted him tremendous power, allowing his influence to swell in Konoha's underbelly.

To avoid suspicion, he had kept the eye hidden beneath bandages all these years.

But what he hadn't expected—what shocked him to the core—was that Senju

Homelander had found out.

"If it's not a Sharingan, then remove the bandage and show everyone."

Homelander said coolly, unmoved by Danzo's denial.

Danzo, however, only clutched his right eye tighter.

"I'm an old man. This eye is damaged and sensitive to light. You want me to go blind just to entertain your baseless accusations? Is this what passes for Hokage behavior now—bullying the elderly?"

His tone turned shrill, but the excuse felt paper-thin.

It was nighttime.

With Konoha still in ruins, the only light came from scattered candles held by civilians. There was no "glare" to speak of.

Danzo's overreaction only deepened suspicion.

Even Hiruzen began to waver.

Not long ago, they had all attended the funeral of their old friend Uchiha Kagami, one of Tobirama's most trusted subordinates.

He had passed from illness in his old age, and during his life, he had always mediated between Konoha and the Uchiha, keeping the peace.

After his death, tensions began rising again.

The village had made several attempts—both openly and covertly—to retrieve Kagami's corpse and his Sharingan "for preservation."

But the Uchiha, under the pretense of honoring their elder, had refused every request.

Eventually, even Hiruzen had stopped asking.

But now, that very old wound had been reopened.

Given Danzo's nature… Hiruzen couldn't help but suspect the worst.

After all, if he had gone as far as implanting Hashirama's cells, what would stop him from stealing a Sharingan?

"Danzo… is it true?"

Hiruzen looked at him, eyes full of disbelief.

That was the comrade who had saved their lives countless times with his Sharingan—

their childhood friend.

Was Danzo really capable of digging up Kagami's grave and stealing his eye?

"Hiruzen, now's not the time for—!"

Danzo snapped, angry at being cornered. But he saw it again.

That look.

That damn disappointed gaze.

I owe you nothing, Hiruzen!

I know what I did was wrong—but I did it for the good of the village!

Why can't you understand, just once?!

"Please, Danzo," Hiruzen said softly, the pain evident in his voice.

"Just remove the bandage. Prove them wrong."

In his mind, he saw Kagami's smile, heard his voice again.

He couldn't bear the thought that even in death, Kagami's body had been desecrated.

"Hiruzen!"

Danzo snapped sharply, trying to shake him back to reality.

But from beneath the palm covering his right eye, a single tear slipped down Danzo's cheek.

Whether it was from rejection, emotion, or ocular rejection—no one could say.

But the crowd saw it.

Something wasn't right.

"Come on! Just show us already!"

"Exactly. If it's all false, what are you afraid of?"

"Remove the bandage and clear your name!"

"Yeah, just show us. A glance is all it takes…"

"I knew the Nine-Tails attack didn't add up… it all makes sense now."

The pressure from the crowd mounted.

Danzo regretted showing up tonight at all.

Yes, his right eye was a Sharingan.

But if he revealed it now, he would basically be confirming Homura's accusations—

that he was the one behind the Nine-Tails incident.

That was absurd.

I'm from the Shimura clan! I don't even have a Kekkei Genkai!

Even if I had a Sharingan, how the hell would I control the Nine-Tails?!

"You people don't know what you're talking about!"

Danzo roared, furious and humiliated.

But with both the Third and Fourth Hokage standing nearby, the civilians weren't afraid anymore.

In fact, they stared him down, unflinching.

Even Fugaku glared at him with open hostility.

Danzo realized then that he couldn't hold onto this secret any longer.

If he exposed the Sharingan, he'd be finished.

But if he didn't… he'd be hounded into a corner.

So—

He made a decision.

Sacrifice the eye.

Activate Izanagi—the ultimate forbidden Uchiha technique.

In exchange for one Sharingan, rewrite reality.

Danzo's personal timeline rewound one minute—to the moment when Homura had first questioned him.

He stood tall, calm and unbothered.

"A Sharingan? You really have gone mad, Lord Fourth," Danzo laughed confidently.

"If you're so curious, then fine. I'll remove the bandage myself."

Before the crowd, he unwrapped the bandage.

Underneath was a dead eye—lifeless, dulled, and unmoving.

The Sharingan had been sacrificed to cast Izanagi, becoming an ordinary, inert eye.

"See? Just a normal eye," Danzo declared.

The crowd murmured.

Even Fugaku, who recognized what had happened, said nothing.

Most didn't even know what a deactivated Sharingan looked like.

"Told you. Nothing to hide."

Danzo wore a smug expression.

And just as the crowd began to murmur, accepting his explanation—

Homelander suddenly moved.

A blur of motion—he grabbed Danzo's right wrist and ripped off the secondary bandage covering his palm.

In one swift motion, he reached behind the hand—

—and plucked out another eyeball hidden in the back of Danzo's palm.

The second eye of Uchiha Kagami.
