Chapter 6 - Meeting the Goblin King

Lucius and his party continued their conquest. But on their way, they began to notice how quiet it was.

"By the way where is Amber? I haven't seen her since the beginning of the day. Sir Criston asked.

"Knowing Amber, she's probably out thieving again. That stupid girl, can't she see the importance of what we're doing?" Luna instantly became angry.

"Hey would you cut the girl some slack. I sent her out on an important mission." Replied Lucius.

"My Lord, you can never trust that girl. The only thing she's interested in is money." Said Luna.

"Which makes her the best person for the job. If there's one fact about Amber, it's that there's nothing she wouldn't do for money."

"You're definitely right about that one." Said Luna

"My Lord. We have guests." Sir Criston cautioned

"Goblins, already." Ginny pulled out her dagger and took her stance.

"Hold on? Let's not be hasty. My fellow Goblin friends, we do not wish to fight! Lower your weapons and let's talk"

But as soon as Lucius finished his sentence, a club swung across his head, but Lucius dodged.

"My Lord! Lord Wesley!"

Multiple voices rushed in at the same time, but Lucius still held them back.

"Please I said I do not wish to fight!"

But they still came forward, glaring at them like intruders.

"My Lord, they're not going to listen." Said Luna

"Alright fine. Take them out but don't kill them. We still need to meet this goblin King."

"Alright!"

They all replied and attacked all the Goblins within in a split second.

"Now would you listen or do you still want to fight but be careful of what you say because it would all depend on you whether you live or die."

"Please no more, we would listen to what you have to say." They all replied simultaneously.

"Good. Like I said, I have not come to wage war. I only demand to see your king."

"If you only spare our lives, we will surely take you to the Goblin King."

"Agreed." Lucius replied and motioned his followers. Within about thirty minutes of walking, they arrived face to face with the Goblin king.

As soon as their king laid eyes on Lucius, fear instantly struck him, and he began to take steps backwards. Sir Criston and everyone else present were confused why the King was so scared.

"You! I know you. You're the dead hero. But how is this possible?"

The Goblin king sighed to calm himself down. When he had succeeded in calming himself down, he continued to speak.

"Now that you're alive, it means you've returned. Have you come to finally kill us all?"

Lucius himself was surprised. If this Goblin was able to recognize him, then how old was it? Lucius smiled and began walking towards the Goblin king.

"Indeed, I have returned. However, I have not come to kill you. In fact, I have come to do the opposite."

"If you have not come to kill us then what are you doing here?" Asked the Goblin king.

"I am going to rebuild Westeros, here in the dark forest. A new Westeros, where man and beast can live together in unity. But for that to happen, I'm going to require the cooperation of every monster in this forest. Instead of fighting a battle you can never win, why don't you join me?"

The Goblin king and all his followers were too shocked to speak.

"Young hero, is this some kind of fantasy to you? This war is happening all because you humans refuse to accept us and now you want us to join you on your impossible quest?"

"It's not an impossible quest."

"Hmm… Even if I join you, it'll still be difficult to convince the other monster clans."

"Let me worry about them." Replied Lucius

The Goblin king stared deeply at Lucius trying to see if he possessed an interior motive against them, however he didn't sense any kind of malice whatsoever.

Moreover, if the hero wanted to kill them, he would have done so already.

"Alright. I accept your proposal."

Lucius and his followers smiled with their first achievement.

The goblin population was around a thousand with about four hundred of them being hobgoblins. The Goblin king wasn't lying. Their number wasn't great to fight with another clan. However, Lucius still felt glad because he had succeeded in subjugating his first group of monsters. The goblins also felt happy about their cooperation. That was because, war with the Ying tribe had always been pending, hence their complete annihilation. And when all hope had almost been lost for them, the legendary hero came back from the dead to save them. This was a dream come true for all of them.

Lucius realized how senseless their war was. After watching them for a day, he realized that the goblins weren't any different from humans, except for their green skin. Some of their dishes surprisingly reminded him of the meals he had had back in his home world.
