Chapter 78 - Today Is My Birthday

After all, Zod Heath had never seen a real devil before. A specimen like Morgan was rare.

Morgan, still unconscious, shivered all over.

"Don't worry. She won't suffer any harm," the Ancient One said. "I will also guide her on how to control this power."

Zod thought that the female Ancient One wasn't the kind of person who enjoyed pranks the way the old-man Ancient One did, so he finally felt at ease.

"How long until she can come back?" Zod asked.

"Whenever she can control this power, that's when she can return," the Ancient One replied.

From the way she said it, it sounded like controlling Morgan's power wouldn't be simple, and would probably take a long time.

But no matter what, the Ancient One was the professional here. Zod couldn't exactly point fingers from an outsider's perspective. As a researcher, he also hated it when laypeople tried to direct experts.

The Ancient One left with Morgan. The wall of Blade Tech Industries was intact again, presumably restored by the Ancient One. At the same time, Zod had Black Queen forge the nearby surveillance footage, and he personally altered the memories of all witnesses.

"I didn't expect to run into the child of a Dimensional Demon God…" Zod felt like he understood this world less and less.

Fortunately, there was still Wanda, the Scarlet Witch. As someone who could crush Thanos one-on-one, and in a universe where mutants existed could erase all mutants and superpowered people with a single sentence, even wiping out little Spidey's abilities, Wanda's strength and potential were definitely greater than Morgan's.

After all, Morgan's "father" was likely only a Skyfather-level Dimensional Demon God at most, basically topping out at single-universe level.

And Marvel's power tiers were: planet level, Skyfather level, All-Father level (peak Odin), single-universe level, multiverse level, megaverse level, omniverse level, OAA and OBA, the Beyonder and TOAA.

Zod wasn't even planet level yet, but his potential ceiling was high, so there was no need to worry about that.

Besides, there was still a long time before the Ancient One's death. That was more than enough time for Zod to develop. Maybe before the Ancient One died, Zod would already be Skyfather level.

Morgan followed the Ancient One to Kamar-Taj. Soon after, Wanda came to ask where Morgan had gone.

"Morgan went somewhere very important for training," Zod explained to Wanda.

He wasn't lying. That place was a magic academy where you borrowed power from Dimensional Demon Gods: Kamar-Taj.

Also, it taught you how to punch and kick the Dimensional Demon Gods who came to collect their debts. If Morgan truly learned it, she probably wouldn't need to fear her "father" anymore.

Wait.

Zod suddenly thought of something. Could it be the Ancient One couldn't wait for Stephen Strange anymore, and planned to raise Morgan as the successor Supreme Sorcerer?

A child of a Dimensional Demon God theoretically could become the Supreme Sorcerer. After all, the Vishanti trio had essentially gone off to become Dimensional Demon Gods.

But when Zod thought about it carefully, it didn't seem likely. The Ancient One probably wasn't that irresponsible. Morgan was too young. If she became the Supreme Sorcerer, she'd probably get tricked into opening a door the moment someone sweet-talked her.

Speaking of Stephen Strange, he was currently a rising star in the medical world. Before reaching his peak of fame, he accepted every high-difficulty, high-risk surgery without hesitation, completely unconcerned about his accident rate. Right now, he was in the stage where he had to fight for it. Only after he became famous would he start refusing surgeries with huge risks.

Zod's level of attention toward Stephen Strange was second only to Tony Stark and Reed.

As for Tony Stark, there wasn't much to watch. He had just finished one suit of Iron Man armor when it was stolen, and then they demanded he produce more.

Tony Stark had long expected terrorists to go back on their word, so he wasn't that disappointed or despairing. If anything, the fact they didn't kill him made him breathe a small sigh of relief.

This hellish life and mental torment was like repeatedly hammering Tony Stark like a piece of steel. It was easy to imagine that when he finally broke out of his cocoon, he wouldn't end up with the anxiety problems of Avengers 2.

By then, Tony Stark would probably think, what the hell is anxiety compared to this?

And thanks to the vegetarian nutrition meals Zod prepared for him, plus the physical work of forging armor, Tony Stark already had muscle now. His lines were smooth without being bulky, absolutely a weapon for picking up girls, the dream physique he'd always wanted.

His whole body was tensed tight. In an instant, his muscle groups bulged with sharp definition like steel casting, and then he swung hammer after hammer onto the metal.

As for Mister Fantastic Reed, he had already started testing the rocket's data and was preparing to launch in a month. When that happened, Lord Doom's bankruptcy would enter the countdown.

Sigh. Zod learned from Black Queen that Lord Doom not only poured in all his cash flow and sold off part of his assets, he also borrowed a huge sum from the bank to support Reed's plan, because he trusted Reed's talent even more than Reed did.

You could only say: you reap what you sow. And Lord Doom didn't just borrow from banks. He also pulled in many investors and partners, including Blade Tech Industries, though that one didn't get approved.

Lord Doom was furious that Zod Heath hadn't paid him any attention. Hmph. Today you ignore me, tomorrow I… I… I still can't afford to offend you.

No other reason. Compared to Zod Heath's achievements, his project didn't even seem to reach one-third of that level of glory.

Blade High-Tech Talent Academy.

Blade Tech Industries invested 100,000,000100,000,000 dollars to build it. Once it opened, it became the dream school for many minors from the middle and upper classes, because graduates would be given priority hiring at Blade Tech Industries.

And what was Blade Tech Industries? Right now, it was the number one super industrial group in the world. Countless elite talents from all over the world wanted to work there.

Even if half of them were probably agents, intelligence operatives, spies, undercover plants, and all sorts of other nonsense, they were still "talent." At the very least, they were likely even more serious and responsible than regular employees, like how Black Widow had already turned into an 81178117 work-schedule machine, except Black Widow also earned a very high salary.

It was said that recently Black Widow had become a shopaholic. Bags and shoes she used to only be able to look at, she now swept them all up in one go.

So Blade Academy received an enormous number of applications. But the score requirements were extremely high, and not many people could get in.

Jessica Campbell was part of the privileged group. She could enroll directly. Even so, she found the academy's ultra-elite education painfully overwhelming.

It wasn't that she was too stupid. It was just that things like cell research, gene editing, high-energy physics, astrophysics, spatial physics, theoretical physics, energy physics… she'd never even heard of them.
