Elizabeth Campbell paid, entered the hospital room, hadn't even taken a good look at Tobby Curry, and was dragged away by Brittany Scott.
"Doesn't someone have to look after him in this state?" Elizabeth said anxiously, glancing around the room to see only Megan Martinez. No way she was letting any other woman get the chance.
"Oh, I just checked. She's with the military district delegation, totally responsible for taking care of Tobby. The city leadership's supposed to commend him—my inside sources are solid, so don't get yourself mixed up in this. Come on, let's go. Wait till Tobby's better before you visit." Brittany pulled her along as she spoke.
"Trying to fool me? They seriously sent a rep that pretty?" Elizabeth was annoyed. "That woman definitely has designs on Tobby."
"What business is it of yours? You're not even Tobby's girlfriend." Brittany was speechless. Why was Elizabeth so invested?
"I'm just getting a head start on the role," Elizabeth replied.
