Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Wapol — I Was Hit by a Continent!

"Wahahaha! Wapol… resurrect!"

From the pile of dismembered metal, the only thing left—Wapol Xiao's mouth—suddenly let out his trademark triumphant laugh.

The next second, a fully intact giant leapt out from between those metallic jaws.

From the moment Wapol Xiao devoured himself to the moment he reappeared, only a few seconds passed.

But in those few seconds, all of his injuries had healed, every shattered limb had reassembled, and his aura had recovered to peak condition.

Even his physique had changed—gone was the burly, brutish frame. He had slimmed down, becoming a long-limbed, sleek knight-type fighter built for speed.

The only downside? He had shrunk—13 meters down to 11.

Wapol Xiao shrank again, dismissing his awakened form entirely and returning to his normal three-meter height.

"I told you—it's not that easy to kill him!"

Sebastian Xiao only spread his hands. He had no intention of interrupting this "resurrection."

"This, this… him? I… you…!"

Xi Hanmei was so stunned she couldn't form a coherent sentence.

"I know, I know."

Xiao patted her head to calm her down, then pulled out another Wapol-alloy warhammer and passed it to her.

"Here. Go smack him again. Let's see what other trump cards he has."

"But I—?"

"Go on. I believe in you."

"…Fine."

Xi Hanmei stopped thinking altogether, closed her eyes, and repeated the same charge, same burst of radiation, same swing.

But this time, Wapol Xiao—slimmed down and sped up—easily slipped past her blows. His speed had multiplied several times, and his body flowed like clay, reshaping bones and flesh at will.

He was more elastic than Rubber Fruit Luffy, closer to CP9's Paper Art(Kami-e) technique.

But he didn't dare use techniques or ranged attacks.

Because Sebastian Xiao's space-return "boomerang" was something he absolutely could not afford to trigger again.

"High-speed regeneration… self-slimming… increased speed…"

Sebastian Xiao's eyes gleamed with envy. "I want that."

"Hahahaha! I've found your weakness! You're dead, brat!!"

Wapol Xiao blurred forward like a phantom, rushing straight toward Sebastian Xiao's command center.

"Oh? You figured it out?"

Xiao calmly instructed Xi Hanmei to intercept him.

Wapol Xiao took the hits, refusing to attack back—because as long as he didn't launch a projectile, nothing could be redirected back at him.

"There!"

Wapol Xiao finally spotted a dimensional door that had remained open ever since the battle began. A triumphant grin spread across his metallic face.

He'd noticed this strange portal earlier during their mental duel—never closing, never shifting.

It was either critical to Sebastian Xiao… or not controlled by him at all.

Factoring in the rules of the Daluo Arena…

This door existed so neither side could "stall" forever with space abilities.

Which meant—

The "owner" of this door was the Daluo Arena.

Behind it was the mirror-space refuge where Sebastian Xiao's real body was hiding.

If I seize that coward's true form…

Wapol Xiao's eyes turned cold. He lunged into the portal with murderous intent—Xi Hanmei diving in after him.

Ten seconds later…

Wapol Xiao came flying back out like a ragdoll, skidding across the ground and flipping dozens of times before crumpling into a flattened heap.

Who am I?

Where am I?

What just happened?

He stared blankly at the sky, mind blank.

He remembered charging inside—

Xi Hanmei immediately draining all his strength—

Then… a continent flew at him—

and then nothing.

"I—what the hell was that?!"

He staggered to his feet, roaring—

—and was instantly swallowed by golden radiation as Xi Hanmei's massive warhammer slammed down.

"Die!"

"Eh??"

BOOOOOM!!!

Another mushroom cloud rolled upward. Xi Hanmei landed gracefully, expression cold, tossing aside yet another shattered warhammer.

"Wapol… slim down~~~~"

Wapol Xiao, mangled beyond recognition, forced himself to swallow his own body again.

A few seconds later, he revived—

but now smaller again.

"Die."

A nightmare-cold voice whispered behind him.

A shadowy figure with a raised scythe approached. Every one of Wapol Xiao's gears trembled.

"Fine! Fine! You want to play rough?! Watch me—

Devour Heaven and Earth!"

Furious, Wapol Xiao poured all power into his massive steel maw and lunged, trying to swallow Xi Hanmei whole. If he could devour her, he could take her abilities.

But she blinked out of range instantly.

CRUNCH!!!

Wapol Xiao bit down on the stone platform instead, gouging out a ten-meter crater. He chewed frantically and swallowed—

"Bleh—! No mass or energy at all! Useless!"

Clearly, the Daluo Dao Fruit system wasn't about to let him exploit loopholes to restore stamina.

"Idiot."

Xi Hanmei teleported behind him again. Her radiation-wreathed axe dropped.

BOOOOOM!!!

Another mushroom cloud.

"Wait! Let's talk! Let's talk!!!"

Reviving yet again—this time wobbling—Wapol Xiao raised both palms frantically.

His strength had dropped sharply after so many forced resurrections. He knew now there was no defeating Sebastian Xiao—only negotiating with him.

"There are four Daluo Dao Fruit shards in total between us," Wapol Xiao pleaded. "Spare me—I only need one to continue existing!"

He kowtowed desperately.

"I—I'll serve you! I'll gather more fragments for you! If you find a way to stabilize my existence, I'll hand over my shard myself! I swear it on the Daluo Dao Fruit!"
