Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Fishing Is Often a Wonderful Thing

Hu Tao's hands, dipped in the medicinal liquid, gently rubbed against Fang Qiu's smooth, bare back. Fang Qiu's pristine back was also stained with the color of the medicine.

At first, it was unclear whether it was due to the medicine or because Hu Tao's hands were naturally cold.

The cool sensation caused Fang Qiu's slender frame to curl in slightly.

With this movement, the medicinal liquid that was originally under Hu Tao's control flowed down along Fang Qiu's slender waist and back, wetting a significant portion of her pale moon-white skirt.

"Uh, Fang Qiu, why don't you lie face down on the bed? That way you won't get your clothes dirty."

Noticing that Fang Qiu's skirt had been dampened by the medicine, Hu Tao thought for a moment and spoke.

"But, if I do that, won't your bedding get wet?"

A faint red blush appeared on Fang Qiu's pretty face; her eyes drifted a bit as she asked softly.

Although there was an element of shyness—after all, she hadn't slept in another girl's bed before—it was mostly because the medicine had just soaked into her skirt.

It was so cold.

"It's fine, I was planning to wash that bedding today anyway."

Hu Tao shook her head and said.

"Alright then..."

Fang Qiu nodded, shyly covering her chest, walked gently to the bed, and slowly lay down on her stomach with her back to Hu Tao.

She felt a large expanse of her exposed skin coming into contact with the bedding Hu Tao used every day.

A faint, elegant fragrance lingered around her nose.

It was the delicate scent of plum blossoms.

Logically speaking.

Bedding shouldn't have this kind of scent.

Then... is this scent Hu Tao's body scent?

Moreover, she was lying on Hu Tao's bed wearing only a thin layer of undergarments.

Seeing the places that changed shape as they were pressed against the bed.

Fang Qiu's pretty face turned even redder.

But, it was okay.

Lying face down on the bed, she was facing away from Hu Tao, so Hu Tao couldn't clearly see her expression.

Thinking of this, Fang Qiu couldn't help but bury her pretty face deep into the bedding.

Like an ostrich.

Fang Qiu lay on the bed, her fair skin, slender neck, flexible waist, and the curve of her hips all completely exposed to view. Seeing Fang Qiu's fair skin exposed in large swathes before her—skin so white it seemed to dye the surrounding space snow-white—Hu Tao felt her heart beating faster.

Especially that beautiful, soft silhouette visible from behind—deformed by the pressure of her body lying prone—made Hu Tao struggle to suppress the urge to poke it.

"Are you ready? I'm starting now, okay?"

"Mhm, go ahead."

Receiving Fang Qiu's answer, Hu Tao dipped her hand in the medicine and gently began massaging the bruise on Fang Qiu's back.

Hu Tao's touch was extremely gentle; even for Fang Qiu, who was very sensitive to pain, there was no discomfort.

However, as the rubbing continued, Hu Tao's hands seemed to possess magic; every touch and rub brought waves of a strange scorching sensation.

The atmosphere seemed to be getting a bit off.

Of course, reason told Fang Qiu that this was the medicine taking effect.

She lay in the bedding, gently biting her red lips, resisting the sensations constantly coming from her body, but her eyes gradually moistened, as if covered by a thin layer of mist.

Just like the misty rain, hazy and obscure.

However, initially Hu Tao was only gently grinding at the edges of the bruise, but gradually, the massage moved from the edges toward the center.

When Hu Tao's hand touched the very center of the bruise, Fang Qiu's body couldn't help but tremble slightly.

"Does it hurt?"

Hu Tao asked with concern.

"It doesn't hurt, actually it tickles a bit."

Fang Qiu twisted her body restlessly and said with a shallow smile.

"That's good."

Hu Tao breathed a slight sigh of relief and continued rubbing.

Time passed slowly.

The application of medicine finally came to an end.

"I'll go bring in a basin of water so you can wipe your body."

The lingering redness on Hu Tao's face hadn't faded. Afraid Fang Qiu would turn and see it, she dropped that sentence and hurriedly turned to leave the room.

Fang Qiu exerted a little force with her arms to prop herself up, exhaling a long breath.

It was finally over.

She got up and walked around the room a couple of times. In the slightly chilly air, the rosiness on Fang Qiu's face gradually faded.

Not long after, Hu Tao returned carrying a bronze basin and a pure white towel.

However, what slightly puzzled Fang Qiu was that Hu Tao's face and hair tips were stained with some water droplets, clearly indicating she had just washed her face.

But Fang Qiu didn't pay it too much mind.

That wasn't important.

"Fang Qiu, sit still, I'll help wipe your body."

After setting down the basin, Hu Tao soaked the towel in water, wrung it out, and spoke.

"I can do it myself."

Fang Qiu said.

"You can't see your back. Don't go wiping off the medicine we just applied."

Hu Tao shook her head and urged Fang Qiu to sit properly.

Helpless, Fang Qiu could only accede to Hu Tao's request.

After wringing the towel dry, Hu Tao gently wiped Fang Qiu's body; her back was soon cleaned.

Just as Fang Qiu thought it was over and was preparing to dress, Hu Tao's hand passed under her armpit and wiped near her clean underarm.

Causing Fang Qiu's delicate body to tremble lightly.

"Alright, put your clothes on."

Hu Tao put the towel back in the basin, put her hands on her hips cutely, and said, "How was it? My medicine application technique is pretty good, right?"

"A miraculous cure. My back doesn't really hurt anymore."

Her tender lips curved up slightly as Fang Qiu said with a smile.

"Hehe, it's alright."

Hu Tao giggled.

Fang Qiu grabbed her clothes and slowly put them on.

Speaking of which, Wangsheng Funeral Parlor is a strange place; the sun is shining brightly outside, but it's so cold inside the room.

Better dress quickly. Otherwise, with this weak body of mine, I might catch a cold.

Oh no...

Why does it feel like I just set a flag for myself...

I need to go out and bask in the sun properly later.

"By the way, I forgot to ask, Fang Qiu, did you come to find me for something?"

Hu Tao gently hammered her left fist into her right palm, looking like she just remembered, and asked.

"If you hadn't mentioned it, I almost forgot. Hu Tao, are you free right now? Hmm... I mean, do you have anything going on today?"

Fang Qiu asked.

"If I had something to do, I wouldn't be fiddling with that gramophone."

Hu Tao shook her head, then asked with a smile, "Why? Do you want to go fight Slimes in the wild again?"

"No, I want to go fishing."

Fang Qiu thought for a moment and said.

Logically speaking, fishing is quite a wonderful activity.

Not only can it pass the time, but after catching fish, you can take them to Wanmin Restaurant to have them cooked for a hearty meal, and the price is only half that of a normal boiled fish dish.

Speaking of which, I seem to have been eating quite lightly recently.

Why not eat something with strong flavors?

Let Xiangling show off her skills with a spicy fish dish.

Hmm...

Wait, why not just invite Xiangling along? Then we can just grill fish directly in the wild?

Damn it.

Just talking about it makes me hungry.

It seems I've only eaten Lotus Cake today, I haven't had a proper meal yet...

Let's eat something first before going fishing.

Thinking of this, Fang Qiu blinked her eyes and cast her gaze toward Hu Tao.
