Chapter 67 - Wood Mountain Resists Law Enforcement

Captain Liu rushed back to the police station, his forehead covered in fine beads of sweat. He anxiously found Sun Zhewun. "Sun, I checked the surveillance footage. The last place Deputy Director Wang was seen was the Mushan Hot Spring Bathhouse. What should we do?" Captain Liu's voice was laced with a hint of tension, his eyes fixed on Sun Zhewun, awaiting instructions.

Sun Zhewun narrowed his eyes slightly, pondering for a moment before saying, "Send someone to check it out. I don't think Deputy Director Wang would have called us for no reason."

"Sun, what if Deputy Director Wang is still there?" Captain Liu frowned, his hands clenching involuntarily, appearing very anxious.

"Hmph, in such a major case, he still wants to cover it up? If he dares to mess around, just bring him back," Sun Zhewun crossed his arms and spoke with conviction.

"Then what about you later? After all, he's the Deputy Director," Captain Liu couldn't help but remind him, well aware of the potentially serious consequences of this matter, his voice trembling slightly.

"Hmph, if he wants to be a protector for the criminal underworld, he must be prepared to fall," Sun Zhewun snorted coldly. "As police officers, our duty is to uphold the dignity of the law and crack down on crime. If we back down because of his position, how can we face our uniforms? How can we be worthy of the people's trust?" Sun Zhewun's every word resonated with authority.

Upon hearing Sun Zhewun's words, Captain Liu's hesitation vanished. He straightened his back and said, "Sun, I understand. I'll make the arrangements right away."

Captain Liu turned and left, quickly gathering a few capable officers. Captain Liu's expression was serious as he briefly explained the situation and the mission to them. "Brothers, this operation may face resistance, but we cannot back down. Everyone is clear on their responsibilities. Let's go!" Captain Liu's voice was loud and decisive.

Several police cars, their lights flashing, sped towards the Mushan Hot Spring Bathhouse. The sirens sliced through the quiet night, like a cry for justice.

Upon arriving, Captain Liu led the officers out of the cars swiftly, their movements agile and organized. Leading the way, Captain Liu and the officers quickly entered the bathhouse. The air inside was thick with steam, but the atmosphere was tense.

Captain Liu and the officers began to search the rooms one by one, their eyes sharp, missing no corner.

Meanwhile, at the police station, Sun Zhewun and the anti-drug squad were intensifying their interrogation of the others. As the interrogation went deeper, a massive drug trafficking case gradually surfaced. Sun Zhewun looked at Zhang Liang, his expression serious, and said, "This case has gotten huge."

Zhang Liang frowned, his face filled with worry. "If Shang Xiaofei runs now, this case is dead in the water."

Sun Zhewun said, "Ha, this is your problem now. We're just here to maintain social order."

Zhang Liang urgently said, "Brother, you can't do this to me. You've made such a big mess, and Deputy Director Wang might even be involved. And now you're just going to leave?"

"I support you in spirit. I'm already overstepping the authority of the police station by doing interrogations. If it wasn't a fight, I wouldn't even be involved." Sun Zhewun shrugged helplessly.

"Come on, buddy, you have to be involved in this case, or I'll tell Director Wang I can't do it anymore." Zhang Liang stared intently at Sun Zhewun.

"You guys have weapons. You're not afraid of those people?" Sun Zhewun said.

"Heh, I'm not afraid of those people. I'm afraid of some people." Zhang Liang looked up at the ceiling, his eyes filled with worry.

"Sigh, alright, I'll come with you to investigate. Now we'll see if Captain Liu can catch Shang Xiaofei." Sun Zhewun took a deep breath, making up his mind.

"I think I should send a few more people over there. I'm afraid Captain Liu and the others won't be able to bring him back if there aren't enough of them," Zhang Liang said.

"No way, they'd dare to resist the law?" Sun Zhewun said in surprise.

"The waters of Mushan are deep. You never know," Zhang Liang said meaningfully, his expression serious.

Sun Zhewun also became nervous. He gritted his teeth and said, "Really? Then I'll go too."

"Bring your gun," Zhang Liang kindly reminded him.

"Right," Sun Zhewun immediately reported to Director Ding. "Director Ding, I'm worried Captain Liu's team might be at a disadvantage because they're outnumbered. Zhang Liang and I plan to take some more people over there. I'm requesting permission to use firearms. I'll leave the interrogation to you."

Director Ding frowned, his face etched with worry. "Using firearms? That's a serious matter if you have to fire them. You need to think this through."

"I shouldn't have to fire my weapon. But if I do, I will take responsibility," Sun Zhewun said firmly.

"Alright, go get them," Director Ding said, watching Sun Zhewun leave. Just don't fire those guns. If you do, things will get really serious. These young people are so full of themselves.

After getting his gun, Sun Zhewun and Zhang Liang, along with six drug enforcement officers, rushed to the Mushan Hot Spring Bathhouse.

When they arrived, they saw that Captain Liu's team was indeed surrounded. After arriving at the Mushan Hot Spring Bathhouse, Captain Liu's team had gone straight in without hesitation, searching each room. However, the owner of Mushan, Ouyang Na, a woman of exquisite beauty with a calculating mind, had stopped them, preventing them from searching further.

"You can't just search without cause, that's illegal!" Ouyang Na said, hands on her hips, looking fierce.

"We're on official business, please cooperate!" Captain Liu shouted angrily.

"Cooperate? Do you have a search warrant?" Ouyang Na sneered.

"This is an emergency situation, a search warrant isn't required!" Captain Liu argued forcefully.

"Hmph, no warrant, no entry!" Ouyang Na waved her hand, and the twenty-odd burly men behind her immediately surrounded them, blocking Captain Liu's path.

They were at a standstill. Captain Liu was anxious, but there was nothing he could do; they were surrounded by twenty or thirty people. This was clearly giving the other side a chance to escape.

"Who are you? Don't obstruct official business, or you'll have to face the consequences!" Sun Zhewun arrived and shouted loudly.

"Oh, Officer Sun, what a show of force. I'm the person in charge of the Mushan Hot Spring Bathhouse," Ouyang Na said sarcastically.

"Get out of the way!" Sun Zhewun glared.

"Go ahead and try to get past us if you dare," Ouyang Na provoked.

Sun Zhewun raised the gun in his hand, his eyes firm and sharp. "I'm warning you, don't challenge the bottom line of the law!" Zhang Liang and the others also drew their guns, the dark muzzles gleaming ominously under the lights. The people on the opposite side began to stir, and uneasy whispers spread through the crowd.

Ouyang Na, however, was fearless, still shouting arrogantly, "They don't dare to shoot, why should they search us?"

"What's your name?" Sun Zhewun asked calmly, his eyes fixed on Ouyang Na.

"Heh, you don't even know my name, and you dare to search me?" Ouyang Na raised her head, her eyes filled with disdain.

"Why should I know your name? Do you know what you're doing?" Sun Zhewun's voice rose a few decibels, carrying authority.
